My submission for this week is from my first BDSM novel, A Dom's Dilemma, published by Blushing Books.  I'm picking up exactly where we left off last time.

In this scene, Jim, a former Texan who works as a police detective by day and lives and plays as a Dom by night, is in the Velvet Chains BDSM medical station working with his new submissive, Kelly Franklin.  When Kelly balks, Jim suspects fear, rather than brattiness, is responsible for her reaction.  After giving her repeated opportunities to tell him what's bothering her, he decides to continue with his original agenda.  However, when Kelly discovers he intends to give her an enema, her fear increases exponentially, which validates his suspicions, but doesn't address Kelly's lack of trust or stubborn refusal to obey.  So, after reminding his reluctant sub what BDSM is about, Jim gives her an ultimatum.  Say her safe word or submit.  Kelly agrees to do as he wants, though a persistent inner voice urges her to run away.  Despite Jim's gentleness, once he completes his anal exam, Kelly starts to tremble at the thought of what will come next.

             "Kelly, unless you tell me what it is you're so afraid of, I can't help you.  And if you won't let me help you, I'll have to assume everything is hunky-dory, unless you give me your safe word.  I'm willin' to take you aside and listen if you wanna talk, but I'm not gonna abandon my plans if you aren't willin' to confide in me.  Now, do you want me to take you down so we can talk, or continue?"

            Oh, God, she really wanted him to change his mind, but that wasn't going to happen.  Left with no other choice, she closed her eyes against her tears and whispered, "Continue, Sir."

            "Very well, although I have to say I'm real unhappy you can't trust me enough to tell me the truth."  He reached under the covers for her leg and she stiffened.  "Relax, Kelly," Master James instructed as he bent her right knee close to her chest and strapped it into place.  Though she didn't resist, Kelly couldn't help the small whimper that escaped her.

Kelly has a past she's not willing to share with anyone.  However, withholding valuable information from a Dom is not a wise course of action for a sub to take.

My submission for this week is from my 5th novel, Acting Lessons.

He was a strict and demanding college professor turned professional director who excelled at giving acting lessons.  She was his shy and uncertain former student who became a professional actress under his tutelage.  They fell in love, married, and won two Tony Awards before tragedy struck and a simple kiss ripped them apart.

After a six month separation, Peter Thorton decides to take matters into his own hands by making his famous wife, Kate, an offer she wouldn't refuse.  Plainly put, he wants her back and he intends to do whatever is necessary to achieve his goal, even if it means giving his stubborn, willful leading lady a daily reminder over his knee that she promised to obey him.

In this scene, which occurs in chapter six, Peter Thorton has just finished giving his wife, Kate, a relatively mild spanking for defying his instructions, and is preparing to make love to her for the first time in over two years.  Peter adores Kate, but he's not above teasing her a little before giving her what she wants and needs as he gently nibbles her into a writhing mass of desire.  However, given her injured knee, he also wants to ensure nothing they do aggravates her torn meniscus, so he gently restrains her when she tries to counter-thrust against his pleasuring.  Keeping his hand on her thigh as a reminder, he warns her if she moves, she'll get a swat.

            Releasing a moan of desire, Kate arched her back as the tiny bundle of nerves centered between her thighs danced with excitement, earning her three more swats for moving before she reached the pinnacle of her climax--and it was explosive.

            Afterward, replete, relaxed, and boneless, she watched Peter undress.  He was a magnificent-looking man, and when he kissed her again, life was perfect.

Though Peter realizes why Kate wants to move, he insists they do things his way, and if Kate disobeys him, he'll remind her as many times as it takes.

My excerpt for this week is from my 2nd book, Deadly Enchantment.  A shapeshifting wizard romance set in Victorian England published by New Concepts Publishing, 

In this snippet, which occurs in the middle of the second chapter, Dominic Westcroft has returned from London to discover his sister has invited several young women to his home, so he can select a new bride.  What neither he nor his sister suspects, however, is that one of the women is actually his deceased bride's sister.  Tormented by guilt over his wife's tragic and brutal death, Dominic has no intention of ever marrying again.  However, when his show of temper accidentally reveals one of their guests possesses magical abilities she's trying to keep hidden, he invites the ladies join him for dinner, so he can rout her out.  His resulting magical show ends up causing a few of the women to cry out in dismay, so Serena calls an end to the charade by revealing herself as the woman with whom he had psychically linked a few hours previously.  Serena knows she's taking a huge risk by standing up to him, but she believes doing so will put an end to his magical shenanigans without revealing her true identity. However, when Westcroft intimates he knows her secret, her chair magically rises into the air.  Realizing she can't appear weak before a predator, Serena dares their host to dash her to the ground.

            Westcroft regarded Serena intently for a moment, and then lowered her back to her seat.  He bowed to her.  “It would appear that I must yield this round to you, my lady.  You called my bluff, and won.  But don’t think this means we are through, for we are not.”

            He turned to the other women, and yelled, “Cease and desist!  Your caterwauling is most unpleasant, and as you can see no one was harmed, so there is no cause for it to continue.”

            The women became silent almost immediately, except for a few sniffles.  Assuming the lead, Caitlyn stepped forward.  “Please, sir, we’d like to leave.”

            Giving his hand a distracted wave, he released his hold on the doors.  “Then by all means scurry off to your rooms, don’t let me hold you back.”

            Caitlyn shook her head.  “No, sir.  I mean we would like to leave the manor.”

            “You would, would you?  Do all of you feel that way?”  Allison, Susan and Dorothy, who’d finally regained consciousness after her swoon, all nodded, but the others seemed more uncertain.  “It is late,” he concurred almost gently.  “I suggest you all retire for the night, and if you still feel so inclined in the morning, we will make arrangements to see you safely returned to your loving families.”

Dominic Westcroft has caught the mouse with his trap, now he intends to expose her for the deceitful liar he takes her to be.

  In this scene, near the beginning of the book, Kyle, a traffic patrol officer, has pulled over a young woman for speeding in a school zone.  Tiffany has been in love with Kyle since she was ten, so this isn't the first time she's faced the strict police officer because of some prank she's pulled.  It's not even the first time she's been caught speeding, which means she's spent a fair amount of time over his knees.  Even so, Kyle is prepared to let her go with a warning and a ticket until she propositions him.  Angry, partly because he's tempted to accept her bribe, Kyle decides to offer her a choice.  She can either spend a night in jail, or place herself over his lap and receive a harsh spanking for her reckless driving.  Though Tiffany agrees to Kyle's punishment, she's scared.  He's never been so strict with her before and she fears this spanking will be unbearable.  After he takes a moment to reassure her of his love, he orders her to lower her panties and raise her skirt.  After Tiffany tearfully complies, Kyle gently rubs the area he's about to thoroughly punish as he insists she tell him why she is being punished.

            "Do you know what it is that you did wrong, and why I am punishing you?"

            "Going over the speed limit?" she answered softly, beginning to relax again.

            "No. That's not it."

            "Driving recklessly?" she offered uncertainly.

            "That's part of it, yes.  And why do you think I consider that so bad?"

            "Because I could get hurt.  But Kyle, forty-five miles an hour isn't that fast.  It's not as if I was driving ninety through the middle of town."

 

Kyle doesn't like the thought of hurting Tiffany, though he knows he has to if he's to make any progress in curbing her impulsive behavior.

My post for this Wednesday is from my 4th book, A Dom's Dilemma, an erotic BDSM/spanking novel published by Blushing Books.  Kelly and Jim, the two main characters, were secondary characters in Arrested by Love.  Though this story stands on its own, if you read Arrested by Love, you'll most likely recognize some of the scenes, since we see a little bit of Kyle and Tiffany in this book, too.

For this selection on Horny Hump Day, I'm continuing the scene in A Dom's Dilemma where Jim is making love to Kelly for the first time.  Though a little nervous, Kelly has been wanting Jim for a few days, and is eager to have him.  However, when Jim unzips his jeans, she begins to grow uncertain.  Jim instantly recognizes the wariness in her expression, and even teases her a bit while he carefully gauges the changes in her expression.  The union is so successful, Kelly is still in a stupor when Jim returns to the bedroom, so he gives her a quick swat to get her moving.

            One spank was enough to bring Kelly swiveling up into a sitting position with an indignant squawk.  "What was that for?" she demanded with a scowl.

            He inclined his head toward her as a warning to watch her tone, then with  a scowl, said, "That's for layin' there when there's work to be done, woman--now, go put some clothes on, so I don't keep gettin' distracted, while I go fix us both somethin' to drink, then meet me back in the livin' room.  We need to talk."

Jim is into control, not pain, and he wants Kelly to find pleasure in sex, but the Dom in him refuses to let her take the lead.  Things happen his way, and on his terms.  End of story.  Even so, Jim finds a great deal of pleasure in Kelly's response, and her trust is of paramount importance to him.

My submission for this week is from my 1st book, Mortal Illusions. A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a series of 3 books.  Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently under production.

In this excerpt, which is the beginning of the first chapter, Germaine St. Justine has sensed his former lover's pain and visits her in the hospital in an effort to ease her suffering.  After some gentle teasing combined with a soothing back rub, he gently bites her neck and draws out a few seconds worth of blood, then uses a hypodermic needle to withdraw blood from his arm.  Germaine adamantly refuses to make another vampire, but he doesn't want Marguerite to suffer.  Unfortunately, she wants more than he is willing to give, so to reassure her his affections haven't altered despite the many years they've been apart, he kisses her.  When Claire walks in to discover a stranger kissing her dying mother, she assumes the gentleman is up to no good and reacts accordingly.  Germaine, however, is less than amused by her rancor.

            Despite his growing annoyance, Germaine's senses caught a trace of uneasiness beneath the young woman’s belligerence.  An uneasiness that was steadily developing into an unreasonable and inexplicable fear.  Her fear surprised him.  Anger he expected, but why would she be afraid?

            "Clarissa, please!" Marguerite protested.  "You're being rude.  Germaine is a family friend and he has come a long way to see me.  It wouldn't hurt you to be gracious."

            "I'd be a lot more gracious if I hadn't just witnessed his attempt to perform a tonsillectomy on you with his tongue."

            Marguerite's eyes widened and she laughed in a way Germaine had thought lost to her forever.  Despite his irritation, he couldn't help smiling in response.  Marguerite's lightened spirits did much to ease his own heavy heart.  Turning, he was about to ask the younger woman if she spoke from personal experience when he noticed a sullen young man lurking near the doorway.  The scowling youth looked to be about nineteen, certainly no older than twenty.  He was thin, almost to the point of gauntness, and from his agitated gestures Germaine suspected they were about to come face-to-face with one of New York's junkies out prowling hospitals for an easy mark.  Germaine stepped forward to stave off the potential thief when Marguerite motioned the young man forward.

            "Robert, come in, please.  I want you to meet Germaine.  Germaine, this is my son, Robert."

            The other man's gaze flicked uneasily over the three of them.  Then with a final look of apology to his mother, he slipped back into the shadowed hallway.  Marguerite tightened her lips in frustration, but didn't call him back.  She gazed over at her daughter again.  "Where's Harry?" she asked, her voice tight with disappointment.

Marguerite's feisty daughter tends to attack first and ask questions later, a trait that is going to get her into a lot of trouble.

            He was so tenderly attentive, tears welled in her eyes.  Next thing Kelly knew she was being wrapped in a delicious warmth with the added security of Master James's arms surrounding her.  Rather than question her further, he held and soothed her until her shivers slowed.  Then he focused his intent gaze on her face.  "Are you gonna tell me now what's happened to cause all this?"

            She pleaded with her eyes for him not to press her any further.

However, Tiffany is less than sure he'll fit inside her, and once she gets a glimpse of him unclothed she calls her safeword.  Realizing Tiffany is serious, Kyle takes a step back to talk things through with his girl.  When he assures her he'll stop, if she wanted him to, Tiffany asks if she can touch him--there.

             Tiffany's fingers tentatively reached out to lightly stroke him, and Kyle bit back a groan.  Her soft green eyes immediately shifted upwards to gaze into his."Pleasure?" she asked.

            "Most definitely, pleasure," he answered.

An innocent in every sense of the word, Tiffany has wanted Kyle to make love to her for years.  In this case, however, size does matter and larger isn't necessarily better.

In this scene, which occurs early in the first chapter, Peter Thorton, seated comfortably in an agent's office, is attempting to convince his wife, Kate, to give their marriage a second chance by signing her to appear with him in a College Summer Stock production of "Kiss Me Kate."  Kate isn't sure she can trust Peter with her heart again, since she believes he's been unfaithful to her, but she's never stopped loving him.  And though Domestic Discipline originally played a part in their marriage, their last two years together had them living like polite strangers sharing the same house.  Peter realizes he made a mistake in letting Kate do as she pleased, so he's determined to rectify matters immediately, and informs his famous wife that if she keeps acting like a brat, he will turn her over his knee.  Since Kate doesn't believe him, she dares him to try it.  He doesn't hesitate, And before she gets another word out, Kate finds herself stomach down across her husband's knees.  Furious and humiliated by both her position and Peter's warning swat, she demands her agent call the police while Peter suggests the agent give them some time alone.

             "Kate?" Don questioned uncertainly.

            "She's fine," Peter assured.  "I won't harm her; I only want her to listen."

            Kate opened her mouth to retort that her ears were a fair distance from her butt, but remained silent when Don shifted his chair back.  The coward was deserting her to her beast of an ex-husband.

            "Ah, sure.  I'll go get these changes added.  Um, call me when you're both ready to discuss things further, okay?"

            "Of course," Peter replied civilly, as though he conducted a polite business meeting rather than a discipline session with his former wife.  When Peter eased his grip on her wrists, Kate suspected the reprieve was temporary.  So, at the sound of the door opening and closing, she tightened her fists in preparation for what would happen next.

            "Unh uh," he murmured in warning.  "Just relax, Kate, so I won't feel compelled to point out how you are currently positioned for a purpose I have yet to properly fulfill."

Kate pushed, so Peter pulled.  Now Kate's regretting having pushed so hard.

When Claire Daniels discovers Germaine St. Justine is a vampire, she sets a plan in motion to convince him to cure her brother of AIDS.  Though an innocent in sexual relations, Claire is savvy enough to realize the best way to secure Germaine's support is to enter into an intimate relationship with him.  However, having a vampire take you to bed isn't quite the same as sleeping with the boy next door.  There are complications. And Germaine is dominant enough to add a few more Claire hadn't expected.

In this segment, Claire has sought Germaine out at his private night club for the first time, only to discover his club offers much more than drinks for those with and without fangs.  The day room at Illusions is equipped to administer punishments as well.  While Claire is trying to reconcile with Germaine, one of his vampires enters the club with his mate in tow and demands permission to publicly chastise her.  What no one expects, however, is for Germaine not only to agree, but call for a supporting vote from his council. When the group unanimously agrees to the punishment, Claire doesn't think, she reacts by picking up a stool and striking the punishing vampire.  Phillip, who is unfazed by Claire's attack, demands she be punished for interfering with his council-sanctioned punishment.

When Germaine agrees Phillip's grievance is valid, he informs the room that he will carry out Claire's punishment himself.  Amazingly, the council protests, forcing Germaine into an open challenge with Phillip.  A sword duel to first blood.  Phillipa and Claire are seated on the sidelines to watch when Phillipa admits that she suspected Germaine had caught on to her and Phillip's plan.  Informed that Germaine's threat to have Phillipa whipped was little more than a ruse, and his demand for full supremacy over her is considered an honor, Claire is a bit dumbfounded and skeptical.

            “Forgive me for seeming dense, but what makes any of this an honor?” Claire asked.

            Phillipa looked momentarily uneasy. “My situation is a little different, but normally when a vampire takes a mate, their disputes remain private unless the mortal breaks one of our laws. Then he or she is brought before the council for punishment. In your case, the council so admired your courage in confronting the growling lion in his den that they're challenging Germaine's right to discipline you privately. Germaine has accepted the challenge--on the stipulation that if he wins, he will have sole authority over you--even if you break one of our laws.”

Claire is discovering these vampires live by different rules than those governing the mortal world, and she's afraid she's fallen in love with a man who will only break her heart.
