WipItUp Wednesday - 9/28/16 - Learning to be Little - No skills, no money #AgePlay #BDSM

WIP: Work in progress.  WIP it up Wednesday is a hop where writers share portions of the project they're working on with readers.  I really like the idea because it allows me to share something that's still in the creative stage as well as work behind the scenes as a prompt to keep me writing.

The WIP I've chosen to share today is tentatively titled "Learning to be Little: Kelly's Story."  It is a story about Kelly Franklin's first immersion into BDSM with a Daddy Dom. It begins in the present directly after "A Dom's Dilemma" then slips into her past before returning to the present again. It's my first attempt at an age play story, but I hope it will provide a lot more insight into Kelly's character. Though the manuscript is still in edits at this point, I decided to begin sharing snippets of my first draft, beginning with the start of Kelly's nightmare.

The mock cover I used for Camp NaNo
I'm continuing where I left off last time. As an only child born to two only children, a young and precocious Kelly Franklin seeks out her Daddy whenever something frightens her. Unfortunately, her Daddy isn't available to soothe her and two strange men were hurting her mother. Scared, Kelly remains as quiet as a mouse in her parent's closet until the police pull her out. Twelve years later, Kelly still suffers nightmares from that time and finds herself placed in an orphanage.

Kept under a more secure watch and a stricter regimen with the nuns, she remained a ward of the Catholic church for twelve years and even briefly considered becoming a nun, but she wasn't Catholic or even a very devout Christian. So, at age eighteen, she was given the clothes she now wore, some spending money, and a list of places where she could find shelter and food. They no longer had the room or funds to keep her, and she was of age. Kelly hadn't exactly been a model child, so even though the nuns weren't cruel, she suspected they were relieved to see the last of her.
She spent several days looking for work, but outside of her gamin looks, she really had few qualities to recommend her, and fewer serviceable skills. Though she had received what was equivalent to a high school GED, she wasn't good at handling money, knew next to nothing about computers, had abysmal typing skills, and her grasp of any finer social amenities was practically non-existent due to her own stubbornness, not through any fault of the nuns.
Kelly barely spoke for several months after her parents' murders, and hardly a night passed by that she didn't wake-up screaming from visions of two gunmen hunting her down. As a result, she had difficulty associating with others, and preferred to keep to herself.
Though the clothing she wore wasn't fashionable and had proved to be inadequate for the weather, it was clean, and she appeared somewhat respectable. Grocery checkouts didn't require a fashion degree, but she did need to be able to work a cash register and give back correct change, neither of which was a talent she'd picked up at the orphanage. What use would she have had for money there?

#MFRWHooks - 9/28/16 - Lessons in Love - Pam is overruled #DD #OfficeRomance

She needed a job, he needed a personal assistant. What could go wrong?

Welcome back to Book Hooks, a regular Wednesday feature! In this blog loop, we hope to provide you with some tantalizing tidbits in our books.

My submission for this week's Book Hooks is from my 8th novel, Lessons in Love.

Pam Weston didn't have many choices as far as employment went. Her prison sentence saw to that. With limited secretarial skills, and an even more limited budget, she never considered herself executive material. So, when she was ordered to report to the CEO of her company as his new personal assistant, she fully expected to be checking out the "Help Wanted" section of the paper before the day was over.

Robert Peterson knew his management style was not HR approved, but he believed in using the stick as well as the carrot. Employing the tenets of domestic discipline, he helped mold his personal assistants into confident women who recognized their own self-worth. Even so, his unorthodox methods were only one of the reasons many considered the position of his assistant to be a revolving door. To Rob's mind, Pamela Weston was perfect for his purposes, though given her past he expected convincing her to agree to his program would be a challenge.

In this scene, which occurs in chapter eight, Robert Peterson is treating his new executive assistant, Pam Weston, to dinner at his exclusive club where he escorts her to a private dining room so she can ask her questions. However, when Pam refuses to sit down, Rob stands. The moment he does, Pam sits and picks up her menu saying she's not sure what she's going order. Rob steps over and asks her to take his hand. When she finally obeys, he holds her close and assures her she's safe. Once she's calm, he continues with his agenda by asking her how many rules she thought she'd broken that day.

"I only broke one rule today, sir."
"Interesting you see it that way. So, which one did you break?"
She glanced up to meet his gaze. "I didn't obey you."
"All right. And, how many times did you disobey my instructions, do you think?"
Pam had a sinking feeling she knew where this was leading, and she didn't want to go there. "Too many to count. Can we sit down again, please? I'm a little dizzy."
"Very well."
However, instead of taking her back to the table, he led her over to one of the armchairs by the sofa and pulled her down on his thighs.
She tried to resist, but her refusal was halfhearted at best, and both of them knew it.
"You don't need to hold me on your lap. I'd be content to sit beside you."
"I disagree. At the moment, I think it's necessary you are held and reassured, and guess who gets to make that decision?"
"You do," she replied, somewhat sullenly.
"Correct." A knock at the door cut him off. "Come in."

Rob knows Pam is nervous, and took her to his club so she could ask him questions with far more privacy than a restaurant would offer. Unfortunately, the ambiance of his club is making her very uncomfortable as is the man himself.

Guest Post - 9/26/16 - "Her Drill Sergeant Dom" by Katherine Deane #Army #BDSM

Today we're showcasing Katherine Deane's new novel "Her Drill Sergeant Dom."

He knows how to motivate her- and it’s not with push-ups

Excerpt:

“You should always lock your footlocker, McCullen. Now, should we continue talking about your delightfully kinky pleasure reading, or talk about the truth, and what I might have to do to get it out of you?” He was just standing there waiting for her to make up her mind, one leg lazily crossed against the other as he leaned against the wall, looking more like a bored drill sergeant rather than a practiced dom about to whip her ass. Heat built between her legs again.
Should she trust him with the truth? What if he was one of the bad guys, and was in league with Cage? How was she to know whom to trust?  She would just have to suck it up. A little spanking and some extra PT wasn’t going to kill her. Granted, she would die of humiliation if Rose or someone else walked in and saw her. But Hunter seemed to be taking extra care to keep this moment between them private. When had she started calling him Hunter instead of Drill Sergeant? Oh yeah, probably the moment he whispered in her ear about whipping her ass, turning her into a complete puddle of lustful mush. A soft groan escaped her lips as she pictured herself calling him Drill Sergeant while he spanked her over and over.
“Are you okay?” He startled her from her musing.
“Yes, Drill Sergeant.”
“So, what’s it going to be, little girl? Truth or punishment followed by truth—and more punishment afterwards, because I don’t like saying things twice.” His features were a mask of neutrality as if he could care less either way.

Basic training is a killer—in more ways than one.
USA Today bestselling author Katherine Deane brings you a romantic suspense that will leave you gasping.
Twenty-four year old journalist Smyth McCullen is following the trail of a killer, right onto Fort Hancock Army training center.  After two murders of young women just out of basic, both under the same drill sergeant, Smyth knows she must join the Army to unravel the truth.
Little does she know that Basic is dangerous in more ways than one. Protecting her battle buddy, working through sixteen hours of grueling training a day, and following a potential bad guy, is nothing compared to falling for a dominant, undercover  drill sergeant.
Hunter Jones is undercover, looking into the potential murders under Drill Sergeant Cage’s direction.  He’s been through many deployments, both public, and some not so public. He’s interrogated bad guys, fallen behind enemy lines, and is prepared in every way to act as a drill sergeant and save another potential victim. What he’s not prepared for is the sexy, young strawberry blonde who is definitely not eighteen.
As their attraction grows, they march one step closer to the end of the session, and imminent danger.  Can Smyth find the killer in time? Can Hunter protect the next target, especially if it’s Smyth?
Lovers of steamy romance, hot military heroes and plucky heroines will adore Katherine Deane’s hot new romantic suspense.

Her Drill Sergeant Dom is a fully written story with HEA and no cliffhangers.

Guest Post – 9/12/16 – Brilliant Cara Bristol interviews spanked wife Cadence Simmons #DD #Spanking

You may not have heard anything from me for a while, but today I'm returning with one of my favorite authors, Cara Bristol, who has provided us with Cadence Simmons' viewpoint on Domestic Discipline. Enjoy.

Character interview with spanked wife Cadence Simmons

Cara Bristol: You seem excited.
Cadence: I am. My husband is home! Rahm was in the military and after two overseas deployments, he’s home for good.
Cara Bristol: That’s wonderful. Do you have anything special planned?
Cadence: Just to reconnect and become a couple again.  I love that he’s home, but I know there’s going to be a bit of adjustment. I think Rahm will expect things to be the way they were before he left, and mostly they will, but some things are different now.
Cara Bristol: Like what?
Cadence:  While gone, I got used to doing a lot things on my own, making my own decisions. Rahm likes to be in control. I still like that, I still want him to be in charge, but well….
Cara Bristol: Well?
Cadence: I got my private investigator’s license!
Cara Bristol: Congratulations!
Cadence: Thank you. But Rahm is going to be really mad when he finds out. He didn’t want me to do it; he thinks it isn’t safe for me to go out on stakeouts alone. I don’t know how to tell him. The longer I wait, the madder he’ll be. And, well…we have a domestic discipline marriage. There will consequences for what I did. Rahm will consider it disobedient, dishonest, dangerous, and disrespectful.
Cara Bristol:  You are in a bind aren’t you?
Cadence: I’m afraid so.

Excerpt:

Taking a deep breath, she pushed into Rahm’s office. The door snicked shut. The click of doom.
Her heart and stomach fluttered in the way they always did when she had to confront a very pissed off Rahm. And he was. Very pissed off. She could tell from the tilt of his head, the set of his jaw.
“Lock the door,” he said.
After she turned the deadbolt, he stood and rounded the desk. “Is there something you want to say to me?” he asked.
“I had planned to tell you!” she said. Her knees knocked together, but she strove for a good show by stomping to the guest chair and plopping her butt into it. Then wished she hadn’t because now he towered over her, and the small metal plug he’d inserted in her ass before they’d left for work didn’t seem all that tiny. She shifted onto one hip.
He leaned against his desk and crossed his arms. “Tell me what?”
He knew. And she knew he knew, so why did a verbal confession seem to carry so much more weight? Why couldn’t they take their knowledge and fly away like pigs?
Because that wasn’t Rahm’s way. He insisted on a full accounting. Rahm’s way or the highway. Rahm’s way or her ass.
No, Rahm’s way and her ass. He would spank her over this. And it wouldn’t be a pretty- please-spank-me-again-it-hurts-so-good kind of paddling. But a wailing-begging-sleep-on-her- stomach-afterwards spanking.

Blurb:

Love, desire, domination, and submission. Two domestic discipline romances by USA Today bestselling author Cara Bristol in one volume.

Wife on the Lam
Janelle wants to take a luxury vacation for her wedding anniversary. Despite numerous hints, husband Brent misses all the clues and plans a business trip! Miffed, she flies off alone to a luxury resort. She’s going to celebrate—with or without him.
Brent didn’t have to work. He’d planned a second honeymoon to the luxury Cabana Resort. Janelle might have ruined his surprise, but he’s not going to let her ruin their anniversary, too. He has a little trick up his sleeve to take his errant wife in hand and get their marriage back on track.

Rahm’s Way

Before her military husband left for his tour of duty, Cadence Simmons relied on Rahm’s love, direction, and protection. His absence forced her to become more independent and make decisions for herself. After serving his country, he’s home for good and eager to resume their marriage as it was before. Only Cadence isn’t quite sure she wants things exactly as they were. Can domestic discipline guide this couple through some major changes?
