Guest Post - 2/26/21 - Love a Billionaire Collection by Daryl Devore #Compilation #Hot #Billionaires

Three hot billionaire romances in one collection

Excerpt:

From Two Truths and a Lie

All I had to do was steal a rare, red diamond. How hard could that be?

I followed the others into the Whittle Bus, took a seat and turned to look out the window. I didn't want a seat buddy. I didn't want a BFF—someone to giggle and bond with. I had a job to do. I had to keep my focus.

Especially if I wanted to live.

I stared blankly out the window, not seeing the city shift to country. Music blared from the bus's sound system. The driver turned the radio on an All 80s channel. Trying to block the music, I reviewed my evening. First, act like a meek female, not too competent or intelligent who doesn't speak English fluently. Second, pretend to be an acceptable server and deliver drinks to thirsty, rich people. Third, steal the red diamond.

Simple enough.

I didn't want the gem. Hmph, who was I kidding? I'd love to own it. But, a job's a job. I'd been commissioned to steal and deliver it to a secure box. And that's exactly what I intended to do. I'd planned this job for several weeks, if not months. Finally, the right opportunity presented itself and here I was sitting on a bus listening to You Spin Me Round, dressed like a French maid. So unbelievably annoying. The skirt barely covered the bend in my butt. Every time I tugged at the skirt, my boobs started to pop out of the top. Not that there was a lot of boob to pop out. I seemed to be missing the greatly endowed gene. I stifled the fantasy of putting my fingers around the neck of the old pervert that demanded we wear these ridiculous outfits. And gloves. We all had to wear white gloves. Who does that?

I'm guessing the host of the party didn't want us mere peasants touching anything, leaving our filthy germs which he might pick up and then die of some horrible flesh-eating disease. Hey, a person can dream.

But on the bright side, the gloves played right into my hand―so to speak. I didn't have to figure out how to conceal a pair of latex gloves. I'd wear these white monstrosities, steal the red diamond and not leave a fingerprint in the whole house.

The bus slowed, passed through the open gates then drove around to the back of a large manor house. I'll admit the house wasn't as big as the one in Downton Abbey, but it was still impressive. A reddish-brown brick house with several floors, lots of windows and partially covered in ivy which screamed rich person lives here. The land around it extended for acres in every direction. I'd already done my research on the place. I knew every inch of the outside and inside. I had escape routes planned. Although, I had no intention of needing them. I was confident I was leaving the same way as I'd arrived—on this bus.

I knew where I could hide in the house if needed. And I had a back-up plan to my back-up plan. Several people had been paid hefty fees to watch my back. This gem was as good as stolen.

With my head lowered, I followed the others out of the bus. The music clearly inspired the eleven of them to a high level of chattiness. No one spoke to me or, I guess, even noticed me and that was exactly what I wanted.

Think about all the press reports of crimes. The reporter asks the neighbours to talk about the alleged shooter and they always reply, "He was so quiet. Kept to himself." The fellow officer workers say of the embezzler, "She was as quiet as a mouse. Did her work and went home." That's me. The quiet, invisible one. The one going home with a large, valuable gemstone while the rest go home with a meagre paycheck.

#SatSpanks - 2/20/2021 - "Lessons in Love" - Establishing the Rules #DomesticDisicpline #OfficeRomance #Executive

She needed a job, he needed a personal assistant. It seemed like a match made in heaven until he laid out the rules he expected her to follow.

Reading this material at Work could get you spanked.

Welcome to the Saturday Spankings blog hop.  My stories are all M/f with the dominant male determined to protect the woman he cares for and loves, or grows to love, by doing whatever it takes to ensure her safety and continued health.  This includes administering a spanking when she needs one.

My submission for this week is a selection from my sixth spanking book, Lessons in Love.

"Lessons in Love" centers around a wealthy business owner who believes in helping his executive admins using politically incorrect, H.R.unapproved, and therefore clandestine, Domestic Discipline techniques.  Since DD isn't for everyone, he does tend to go through admins rather frequently.  However, he also makes sure if they choose not to work for him because of his unorthodox management style, that they are given another suitable position in his company if they wish to stay, or a handsome severance package if they choose to leave.

Today, he has chosen to outline his plans for Pam, which leaves her even more uncertain than before.

He rose and went to his desk, where he pulled out a sheaf of papers. "These are the rules I've established. You already know most of them and any you aren't aware of, I'll let slide the first time."

Swallowing, she glanced at the stack he held. "That's a lot of paper."

"True, although much of what the document contains is common sense. You will be my personal assistant, answerable only to me. As such, I will want and need you to do some things you might find objectionable at first."

"Like what?"

"Like I will want you to purchase a whole new wardrobe, at my expense. I want to send you to a woman who knows my tastes, and she will outfit you. I will also insist you go to the hairstylist to receive a more professional cut than your current style. Even though I find ponytails cute on you, I do not find them acceptable on my executive admin. In addition to the haircut, I will request they give you a manicure." He examined her hands. "You bite your nails?"

"Only when I'm nervous."

"Not anymore. Nail biting is now a punishable offense."

"What?"

"Not getting enough sleep or failing to eat properly will become a punishable offense."

"Are you planning to control my entire life?"

"In essence, yes, I am. I will be the final arbitrator of all discussions, and I decide what is best for you."

"I'm not a child, Mr. Peterson."

"I believe we've already established that fact, Miss Weston. However, as my admin, you represent me, and I have standards to maintain."

Pam Weston has worked in Robert Peterson's company for nearly six months as a temp when she is reassigned to the President's office.  She has caught glimpses of Mr. Peterson when she temped on the executive floor, but she never expected she'd be summoned to work for him.  Pam has a criminal record and a murky past, which has made her practically unemployable, and yet now H.R. has assigned her to work for the president of their company, and after her first day she suspects working for Mr. Peterson will be a very different experience.

Blurb:

Pam Weston didn't have many choices as far as employment went. Her prison sentence saw to that. With limited secretarial skills, and an even more limited budget, she never considered herself executive material. So, when she was ordered to report to the CEO of her company as his new personal assistant, she fully expected to be checking out the "Help Wanted" section of the paper before the day was over.

Robert Peterson knew his management style was not HR approved, but he believed in using the stick as well as the carrot. Employing the tenets of domestic discipline, he helped mold his personal assistants into confident women who recognized their own self-worth. Even so, his unorthodox methods were only one of the reasons many considered the position of his assistant to be a revolving door. To Rob's mind, Pamela Weston was perfect for his purposes, though given her past he expected convincing her would be a challenge.

Guest Post - 2/13/21 - The Last Dragon by Daryl Devore #Legend #Dragons #Knights

Are some wounds just too deep to heal? Are some risks too great? Some rewards just not enough?

Excerpt:

A monk raced to the side of the abbot. “People at the gate. With torches and knives and… and… The monastery is attacked. They want the babe.” He clutched at his chest, trying to inhale air.

Hawkyns slipped his arm through the shield’s straps and gripped his weapon. Derry could sense the anger building in him. It wasn’t evil anger. It was the anger of a knight knowing he must right an injustice.

“Derry, stay back here. Take the horse and hide in the herbarium. I will get the child and return.”

The abbot stood in front of Hawkyns, barring his attack. “Ye cannot kill anyone within the walls of the abbey. This is a place of peace. Of God.”

Hawkyns flinched. “But if they kill yer brothers?”

The monk lowered his head. “'Tis God’s will.”

Hawkyns’ knuckles turn white from the grip on his sword. Frustrated anger filled his brow.

Father Jacobus raised his hand. “Do not fight me on this, my son. Swear, in the eyes of God, that ye will not kill within the walls of Baswich Abbey.”

Hawkyns knelt and placed the point of his sword on the ground and rested his forehead on the cross-shaped hilt. “I swear I will kill no one on abbey grounds.”

The abbot made the sign of the cross over him. “Go. Save the child.”

What do dragons, knights and romance have in common? Grab a copy of multi-published author Daryl Devore’s medieval fantasy romance – The Last Dragon and discover the answer.

A sorcerer craving dominance merged with a dragon, the power overwhelmed him causing him to split into three dragons. Demora ruled thought, but was lost in time. Yidithe offered protection, shining like the light of the sun. Ayrradex craved chaos, revelling in destroying souls.

Many knights died, attempting to slay the devil beast. One knight, Prince Hawkyns, did not fear death. He’d lost everything. Away on a mission when Ayrradex attacked his fathers kingdom, Penrythe, Hawkyns returned to find his noble father – feeble and defeated. His wise mother – crazed. His beautiful wife and unborn child - dead. Only a pile of ashes remained for him to bury. He knelt before his King and vowed to slay the devil-beast or be slain.

Derry was born with powers that terrified her parents. They delivered her to a nunnery to be raised in secret. Jathe, a wise sorceress, discovered the young girl and trained her to one day use the secret hidden in her soul.

Legends spoken around campfires hinted the sole way to destroy Ayrradex was when the hearts of a knight and a golden dragon became one. But after a vicious battle with Ayrradex, the golden dragon was thought to be dead.

Can Prince Hawkyns’s bravery and Derry’s powers end the reign of the devil-beast’s terror?

Guest Post 2/5/21 - "A Hero's Heart" by Amber Daulton #MC #Contemporary #Romance

When it comes to revenge, nothing is sacred, not even Christmas.

Excerpt:

Marissa stood up from the table, grabbed a few plates and headed toward the kitchen. She stuffed the plates in the trashcan and washed her hands under warm water in the sink.

She didn’t want Jarrett to stay with them but how could he refuse? Her son made a compelling argument and it was damn hard to ignore his tears, especially when they weren’t crocodile tears.

Living under the same roof as Jarrett, even for just a few days, wouldn’t be easy. After their amazing night together, Marissa couldn’t fathom keeping her hands off him. His tanned, muscled body nearly made her drool. Just thinking about it doubled the saliva in her mouth. She had vowed just an hour ago to keep her distance and not sleep with him again. Now, she didn’t know how not to sleep with him. With the guestroom bordering her bedroom and Jason’s room down the hall, she could easily sneak inside Jarrett’s room and pleasure his body for hours.

A feeling of unease crept up her spine. She turned to face Jarrett as he approached from the swinging kitchen door. She sighed and turned off the faucet. She dried her hands with a soft towel and refused to meet his gaze.

“I’m sorry, Marissa. If staying here will be an inconvenience, I’ll tell Jason I can’t.”

She shook her head. “He’ll blame me.”

“No, I’ll say that I have to go back to San Francisco for work or Montana for the ski trip. He’ll understand.”

A raw laugh crawled up her throat. “He’ll understand? He’ll scream and beg you to stay. Once you leave, he’ll cry for hours.”

“Marissa, what do you want from me? I can’t stay forever. I don’t want to hurt him or you, I swear it, but I will leave. It’s only a matter of when, not if.”

She grasped the counter to keep steady. She hated how much her foolish heart hurt with those words. “I know that. I don’t expect anything different.” She swallowed hard to strengthen her voice. “I’m not your wife. Jason is not your son. We’re not good enough reasons for you to give up the life you built in California. I don’t want anything from you. I’ll understand when you leave but Jason won’t, not that it’s any of your concern. I’ll deal with his pain when the time comes.”

He clutched his fists and turned away. “You sure know how to make a man feel like shit.”

She folded her arms. “That’s not my intention.”

“It doesn’t change the facts.” He grabbed the cell phone from his pocket and checked the time. “Am I staying here or not? It’s your choice.”

She considered throwing the bastard out on his ass. If it wasn’t for Jason, she would. “You’re staying.”

“Okay.” He gripped the phone tight. “I’ll call my boss and let him know your address.”

“Fine. I assume your bike has a lot of compartments for extra clothes and travel supplies. I’ll show you to the guestroom when you’re ready.”

Jarrett nodded and headed to the swinging door, now still, but paused before passing through. “Thank you, Marissa. I do appreciate it.”

She fisted her hands. “Thank Jason.”

With that, he left the kitchen.

Blurb:

DEA field agent Jarrett Brandt returns home to visit his brother's grave, not to reconnect with his first true love.

Now widowed with a son, Marissa Reinn Brandt expects nothing from the one who broke her heart—the twin brother of the man she’d married—but then her son offers him a place to stay for Christmas.

As they rekindle the flames of love that once bound them together, an enemy from his past and a trusted mentor from his present threaten to destroy everything they hold dear.
