It's MFRW Book Hooks, a regular Wednesday feature!  This week, I'm sharing an excerpt from my 1st book, Mortal Illusions. A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a series of 3 books.  Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently under production.

 

This snippet occurs at the beginning of Chapter 13.  Germaine St. Justine and Claire Daniels have finally made up after their first fight. Claire's convinced herself she knows what she's getting into, but she's quickly learning vampires and mortals live by very different rules.  All the same, she loves the two hundred year old vampire who's claimed her heart, she just not sure she can accept all the differences between them.

            The day began innocently enough with Germaine getting out of bed when she did saying that he'd like to watch her exercise.  Having no good reason to object, Claire shrugged and slipped into her exercise clothes while Germaine remained unabashedly and gloriously nude--watching her.  She assumed her usual position on the floor, legs spread out in a “V,” her arms stretched out toward her toes when he said, “Why don't you take off your sweat suit?  It's much easier to gauge a workout's efficacy, if your movements are unhindered by cotton flannel.”

            “But I don't have any tights,” she blurted as her body tensed in instinctive alarm.
             “You don't need any.  In fact, it's best if you wear nothing at all.  The Greeks exercised that way, and they were once considered the greatest athletes in the world.”

Claire is not the uninhibited sort, but Germaine wants to remove all the barriers he senses exists between them.  Even if it's just clothes.

Welcome back to Horny Hump Day, though I regret to inform you this is the last Horny Hump Day we'll be doing.  This three sentence hop was one of its kind, but the administrator has announced she's decided to end it after two years.  Though I'm sorry to see it come to an end, I understand her decision.  Throughout the run of this hop, we've attempted to provide you with tiny erotic tidbits of the most sexy and sensuous moments in our books. My submission for this final Horny Hump Day is from my 5th novel, Acting Lessons.

He was a strict and demanding college professor turned professional director who excelled at giving acting lessons.  She was his shy and uncertain former student who became a professional actress under his tutelage.  They fell in love, married, and won two Tony Awards before tragedy struck and a simple kiss ripped them apart.

After a six month separation, Peter Thorton decides to take matters into his own hands by making his famous wife, Kate, an offer she wouldn't refuse.  Plainly put, he wants her back and he intends to do whatever is necessary to achieve his goal, even if it means giving his stubborn, willful leading lady a daily reminder over his knee that she promised to obey him.

In this scene, which occurs in chapter six, Peter Thorton has just finished giving his wife, Kate, a relatively mild spanking for defying his instructions, and is preparing to make love to her for the first time in over two years.  Peter adores Kate, but he's not above teasing her a little before giving her what she wants and needs as he gently nibbles her into a writhing mass of desire.  However, given her injured knee, he also wants to ensure nothing they do aggravates her torn meniscus, so he gently restrains her when she tries to counter-thrust against his pleasuring.  Keeping his hand on her thigh as a reminder, he warns her if she moves, she'll get a swat, then he makes love to her.  Since they haven't been together for nearly six months, Peter enters Kate slowly to give her body time to adjust.

            The intrusion burned a little, but not enough to dim her pleasure.  All the same, Peter held still, giving Kate's body time to adjust for a moment before he started to thrust and withdraw.  Her back arching with pleasure, Kate closed her eyes as Peter swept her into the age-old dance of lovers.

Peter is finally where he belongs, and now that he's there, he has no wish to leave.  And we've had a wonderfully sexy dance together, but now it's time to say good-night and good-bye to this quirky, wonderful hop.

My post for this Wednesday is from my 4th book, A Dom's Dilemma, an erotic BDSM/spanking novel published by Blushing Books.  Kelly and Jim, the two main characters, were secondary characters in Arrested by Love.  Though this story stands on its own, if you read Arrested by Love, you'll most likely recognize some of the scenes, since we see a little bit of Kyle and Tiffany in this book, too.

For this selection on Horny Hump Day, I'm sharing scene in A Dom's Dilemma near the beginning of Chapter Six.  Jim and Kelly are just starting to get to know each other when Jim discovers Kelly is still sore from the enema and examination he gave her a half-hour ago.  She knows that means he will want to examine and treat her, but she really wants to avoid him touching her back there again, if it's at all possible.  It isn't, but Jim compromises by making the experience as pleasurable as he can.  However, he's a Dom, so there are some rules Kelly will need to follow.  Rules he fully expects her to break.

            Smiling inwardly at her contented expression, Jim continued to slowly move his finger in and out of her.  Partly to make sure the medicine reached as far as he wanted, and partly to discover if she might find the activity pleasurable.

            Within seconds, her back and tummy muscles tightened, so he used his thumb to tease the small bud attempting to hide from him.

Jim is into control, not pain, and he wants Kelly to find pleasure in everything they do together, but the Dom in him insists upon taking the lead.  Things will happen his way, and on his terms.  End of story.  Even so, Jim finds a great deal of pleasure in Kelly's response, and her trust is of paramount importance to him.

In this scene, Kyle takes his recently engaged fiancee, Tiffany, on a secluded picnic where he plans to give the woman he adores everything she'd been attempting to seduce out of him for the past three years.  Her inexperience is a great turn on for him, but it also means he needs to take things far more slowly than his body desires.  But he wants her first time to be a pleasurable memory, not a painful one, so he does what he can to make sure she's fully aroused before he takes her. However, Tiffany is less than sure he'll fit inside her, and once she gets a glimpse of him unclothed she calls her safeword.  Realizing Tiffany is serious, Kyle takes a step back to talk things through with his girl.  When he assures her he'll stop, if she wanted him to, Tiffany asks if she can touch him--there.  It takes all of Kyle's will power to remain still under her tentative fondling. Tiffany is a little in awe as she tries to encircle him with her hand.

             "I can't do it.  My fingers aren't long enough," Tiffany admitted with a trace of disappointment.

            When he didn't answer, she slowly removed her hand, and Kyle held his breath as he waited for her decision.

An innocent in every sense of the word, Tiffany has wanted Kyle to make love to her for years.  In this case, however, size does matter and larger isn't necessarily better.

This post for HHD is from my 2nd book, Deadly Enchantment, a shape-shifting wizard romance published by New Concepts Publishing.  The story revolves around a young psychic woman facing off with the dark wizard of Ravenscroft, who she is convinced has brutally slaughtered her sister in a fit of jealous rage on their wedding night.

In this segment, Dominic's deepening feelings for Serena make it more likely his evil brother will target her.  Rather than risk losing her for good, Dominic decides to send Serena home directly after the funeral of his sister.  Serena doesn't want to leave, but arguing will gain her nothing but his anger and the likelihood of a more speedy departure, so she remains silent. Though Dominic is suspicious of Serena's new found docility, until she is safely away from him he insists she sleep in his bed.  Dominic knows he is endangering Serena's life by keeping her with him, but he is unable to let her go.  He desires her, yet hates himself for not having more control even as he greedily samples all she is willing to offer.  

             When she gave a slight arch to her hips, he increased the tempo of his thrusts, yet never took his gaze off her until she cried out with passion, then, closing his eyes, he gave himself over to his own pleasure.

            Afterwards, he lay beside her and continued to stroke her along her legs and hips, as if he needed to touch her.  He said nothing, but his eyes were dark and haunted as if he feared letting her go, feared losing her in some way.

Torn between his desire to protect the woman he loves, and his need to be with her, Dominic takes and gives back unstintingly, all the while praying he isn't making a fatal mistake.

This snippet occurs about a third way into the book after Claire Daniels has finally convinced Germaine St. Justine, the two hundred year-old vampire she hopes will ultimately save her brother's life, to make love. Claire's convinced herself she knows what she's getting into, but she's quickly learning her preconceived notions are wrong.  Possibly dead wrong, because not only can making love to a vampire be fatally addictive, they are open to all your thoughts and feelings, which can be erotically satisfying, or terribly embarrassing.

            “Can we do it more than once?”

            “If I'm careful, we can make love several times a night.  The danger isn't in the frequency, but in the amount I take from you.”

Though a vampire's bite can be painful, the pleasure it ultimately brings is pure ecstasy, but as is the issue with anything that offers absolute pleasure, you always want more.

            "Yes, Sir," she replied, more than a little sullenly.  The moment his back was turned, he allowed his inner grin to widen into a full-fledged smile while he strode into the kitchen with a whistle.  The lady wanted to play, and he felt exactly the same way.
