Welcome to the Saturday Spankings blog hop.  My stories are all M/f with the dominant male determined to protect the woman he cares for and loves, or grows to love, by doing whatever it takes to ensure her safety and continued health.  This includes administering a spanking when she needs one.

  

My submission for this week is from my 1st book, Mortal Illusions. A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a series of 3 books.  Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently being revised.

When Claire Daniels discovers Germaine St. Justine is a vampire, she sets a plan in motion to convince him to cure her brother of AIDS.  Though an innocent in sexual relations, Claire is savvy enough to realize the best way to secure Germaine's support is to enter into an intimate relationship with him.  However, having a vampire take you to bed isn't quite the same as sleeping with the boy next door.  There are complications. And Germaine is dominant enough to add a few more Claire hadn't expected.

In this segment, Claire and Phillipa are witnessing the trial of Sybill, a mortal female accused of approaching another group for the purpose of requesting transformation.  A procedure which Germaine's group expressly forbids.  In addition, she was observed relating vampire activities to an outsider, and going so far as to encourage her companion to seek out the mortal constabulary. The vampire responsible for Sybill claims to know nothing about her illicit activities and effectively removes his protection, leaving her fate for Germaine's council to decide. However, when the men move in to tie the other woman down to keep her from hurting herself, Claire starts to get very worried and wants to intervene.

            “Don't do it, Claire.  I beg you.  Germaine has enough battles without fighting for you, too.”

            Claire knew Phillipa spoke the truth, except that didn't make her dilemma any easier.  She didn't enjoy open defiance, but her conscience wouldn't permit her to ignore a fellow human's suffering.

            “You'd be making the worst mistake of your life, Claire,” Phillipa added in a near whisper.  “Germaine would fight to the death rather than let you--”

            “What's in that bag?” Claire interrupted as she watched Auguste, who was stationed at Sybill's head, place a plastic fluid-filled bag on a long pole that rose directly from the platform.  Uncoiling the clear, flexible line, he leaned forward and said something to the restrained woman, who lay exhausted and resigned on the dais--the deep rise and fall of her chest her only movement.

Claire is discovering just how different vampires are from mortals. Afraid she's fallen in love with a man who will only break her heart, she's about to learn how dangerous her position actually is.

Frisky Friday - 6/19/15 - Deadly Enchantment - A truth serum can reveal too many secrets #Shapeshifters #Victorian

An unhappy shape shifter can be a dangerous companion....

It's Frisky Friday, and for A Writer's Naughty Thoughts, Fridays are also anything can happen days.

My excerpt for this week is from my 2nd book, Deadly Enchantment.  A shapeshifting wizard romance set in Victorian England published by New Concepts Publishing, 

In this snippet, which occurs at the beginning of the third chapter, Dominic Westcroft has reason to suspect Serena Blanford, one of the guests his sister has invited for him to consider as a potential bride, possesses magical abilities she's trying to keep hidden.  Believing she may actually be a plant placed in his home by his treacherous brother, he decides to give her a purity validation test.

Serena has no idea what this "test" actually entails, but given the reaction of the other women who went through it, she knew it wasn't anything she wanted to experience.  Up until this point, she has successfully managed to keep both her and her cousin safe from having to undergo the ordeal, but now Westcroft is adamant they both submit.  When Serena declines, he advises his servant she will be leaving first thing in the morning. Knowing if she's sent away that she'll never be able to solve the mystery surrounding her sister's death, Serena agrees to have her purity "validated".  However, when they approach the room where the testing is taking place, Serena hears her cousin crying. She rushes in to comfort Allison only to learn they forced her cousin to drink a potion, which was in effect a truth serum for the spirit intended to expose those who intend harm through deceit.

             Serena wasn’t sure she wanted an answer to her next question, but she had to ask it anyway. “And what happens if a person’s essence does not meet the necessary requirements for this unicorn herb’s validation process?”

            “Failure would mean the individual possessed a nature seeped in evil or deceit. And if that were true, after drinking the potion, the person would get violently ill,” he replied evenly.

            Serena looked back at her cousin with concern. “How do you feel?” she inquired carefully.

            “Sore,” Allison replied with a sniffle.

            Afraid, but unwilling to show her fear, Serena glared at him with a look of pure disdain.  “So, do you always have your brother-in-law do your dirty work for you?”

            Dominic Westcroft regarded her with an arched brow. “Only when a physician is required,” he answered civilly, but coolly.

Dominic Westcroft is determined to uncover his young guest's secrets even if it means "testing" Serena himself. He views her cousin merely as a means to his end.

In this scene, Kyle takes his recently engaged fiancee, Tiffany, on a secluded picnic where he plans to give the woman he adores everything she'd been attempting to seduce out of him for the past three years.  Her inexperience is a great turn on for him, but it also means he needs to take things far more slowly than his body desires.  He wants her first time to be a pleasurable memory, not a painful one, so he does what he can to make sure she's fully aroused, using his lips and tongue, before he takes her. However, Tiffany is less than sure he'll fit inside her, and once she gets a glimpse of him unclothed she calls her safeword. Realizing Tiffany is serious, Kyle takes a step back to talk things through with his girl to reassure her, including whether or not he should use protection. When she decides she doesn't want him to use a condom, he begins the age-old dance of lovers. Aware that Tiffany is a virgin, he takes care to go slowly with her in an effort not to cause her more pain that is absolutely necessary.

            "More," Tiffany urged, gripping Kyle's arms as she tried to thrust her hips up.

            "Easy," he ordered, starting to add just a little more pressure when he eased inside her.  She was very wet, so he knew she was fully aroused despite the way her teeth worried her lower lip.  Slowly, taking care not to push too hard, he continued to work his way further inside.

            Her hymen was just starting to give way, when she cried, "Apple!"

            He stopped instantly, but didn't pull out.  Instead, he met her gaze.  "Tell me what you want, sweetie."

            "I don't know," she whined.  "I don't want you to stop, but it really hurts, Kyle."

            Kyle withdrew with a sigh as he tried to bring himself back under control.  He was hurting, too, though for an entirely different reason.

            She lifted her head.  "You're disappointed with me, aren't you?"

An innocent in every sense of the word, Tiffany has wanted Kyle to make love to her for years.  In this case, however, size does matter and larger isn't necessarily better.

Guest Post - 6/16/15 - His To Command by Kallista Dane #Erotic #Sci-fi #Adventure

Today the talented Kallista Dane is visiting us to discuss her newest release "His to Command," an erotic Sci-fi adventure.  There’s a strong heroine on a secret mission to a distant planet, an Alpha warrior determined to master her, lots of spanking and some very naughty anal play! 

Given her description, I asked Kallista what, if anything, she learned from writing her book. This is what she said:

I love doing research when I write, even though 95% of what I learn never makes it into my books.  In Captured and Examined, I had to find out enough about quantum physics to create a plausible explanation for how my heroine traveled through time.  For His To Command, I researched “Goldilocks planets.”  That’s what astrophysicists call distant planets that aren’t too hot or too cold.  Like Neodyma in my book, they might be “just right” for life to exist.

Excerpt:

The young woman carried a pitcher and bowl and a large basket covered with a black cloth.  She spoke softly without making eye contact.

“It is time to prepare you for your punishment.”

“I am called AJ.  What is your name?”

“Harlot.”

If she was to successfully penetrate the young woman’s mind, AJ needed to create

a bond with her.  “Surely you have some name other than that,” she replied, her voice gentle.

The young woman glanced around the room nervously.  “Once…once this Harlot was known as Dianna.”

AJ perched gingerly on the edge of one of the hard wooden chairs, motioning for the young woman to join her.

“You say you are a Harlot.  I’ve been told I am to be one as well, Dianna.  Can you explain to me what that means?”

The woman stared dully at the wall, replying in a sing-song tone, as though repeating a speech she’d learned by rote.  “Harlots serve at the pleasure of their masters.  We have no duty but to please them, no desires but their desires, no will but what they will us to do.”

Carefully, AJ sent out her power, probing the mind of the woman in front of her.  She got back an agonizing wave of hopelessness.  Below it, lay only sorrow.  No spark of vitality, no essence of free will, no semblance of independent thought remained in this woman.  It was as though she had entered a mind that was nothing more than an empty shell.

She sighed.  Nothing in her training had prepared her for this.  Her mental skills were proving worthless in this culture.

“Can you tell me what they’re going to do to me tonight?”

Once again the woman replied by rote, parroting the words the General had uttered as though she’d been there in the room to hear them.

#SPeekSunday - 6/14/15 - A Dom's Dilemma - An exclusive relationship #BDSM #D/s

He demanded her obedience, but what she wanted was his love.

It's Sneak Peek Sunday again and that means I get to share another 6 paragraphs from one of my books.  Yay!

My submission for this week is from my 4th book, A Dom's Dilemma, a BDSM/spanking novel that is sometimes playful, sometimes serious and sometimes terrifying, published by Blushing Books.  Kelly and Jim, the two main characters, were secondary characters in Arrested by Love.  Though this story stands on its own, if you read Arrested by Love, you'll most likely recognize some of the scenes, since we see a little bit of Kyle and Tiffany in this book, too.

In this excerpt, near the end of Chapter Five, Jim Evans and Kelly Franklin are together at "The Velvet Chains," a BDSM club where they met that evening.  Kelly is receiving some aftercare after a session of intensive medical play she did with Jim that seemed a lot more real than play.  Aftercare is an important part of the BDSM experience.  Both the Dom and the sub seek reassurance from the other.  Jim enjoys holding Kelly, and she likes being in his arms, so this is a quiet period of reflection and getting to know each other. Problem is, when Jim asks Kelly a question she really doesn't want to answer, her evasion serves as an admission she's lied to him.

Normally, a Dom would punish a sub for that infraction, but Jim has told Kelly he'll give her a onetime pass. Before they do anything else, however, he suggests they get to know each other a little better.  He begins by asking her some pertinent questions, which eventually lead to the topic of trust.  When Kelly admits that she probably trusts him more not to hurt her than anyone else, he's pleased, but remains cautious.  He informs her, in no uncertain terms, that he can be a controlling SOB who expects a lot, but he gives back in return.  If she chooses to remain as his sub, he'll expect her to be open and honest with about everything in her life. Even those things she might not want to share, but for the moment he's content to simply know more about what she likes when she asks him if he is married. 

             He gave her a speculative look.  "You think I'd be here now if I was married?"

            She shrugged.  "More than a few of the Doms here are married, which is why they joined the club.  Their wives are vanilla, and would be appalled to learn about their husband's kinkier bent."

            "Well now, I suppose that's true, but I'm not one of 'em.  I am a strong believer in the sanctity of marriage, and I wouldn't marry if I felt my wife couldn't or wouldn't meet my needs in that respect.  So, to answer your question, I am not, nor have I ever been--married.  Not involved with anyone else either for that matter.  As long as we're together, I expect us to be exclusive to each other, and that's not somethin' every sub wants."

            Kelly found his attitude reassuring as well as romantic.  She knew, without asking, that Jim's wife would be subject to his authority and discipline, so she didn't need to go there.  Instead, she decided to learn more about him, as a person, and his background.  "What about your family, Sir?  Are your parents alive?  Do you have any brothers or sisters?"

            Watching him closely, she visualized a shutter coming down over his handsome features.  She thought he would refuse to answer when he shook his head and said, "Not any longer."

            Kelly sensed a deep pain residing within the strong man holding her.  Dismayed that she had somehow saddened him, and wanting to offer comfort, she struggled to free her other arm.  "Please, Sir.  I need the blanket lowered.  Help me, Sir," she begged, flopping around so much, he tightened his hold.

Kelly knows she makes a lousy sub.  She has a temper and a mouth that constantly get her into trouble, but she sees something in Jim that makes her want more of the type of mastering only he could give her, except she's not sure she can give him all the honesty he expects in return.

My submission for this week is from my third spanking romance titled, Acting Lessons. 

He was a strict and demanding college professor turned professional director who excelled at giving acting lessons.  She was his shy and uncertain former student who became a professional actress under his tutelage.  They fell in love, married, and won two Tony Awards before tragedy struck and a simple kiss ripped them apart.

After a six month separation, Peter Thorton decides to take matters into his own hands by making his famous wife, Kate, an offer she wouldn't refuse.  Plainly put, he wants her back and he intends to do whatever is necessary to achieve his goal, even if it means giving his stubborn, willful leading lady a daily reminder over his knee that she promised to obey him.

Setup: After injuring her knee and spending a few hours in the hospital, Kate ends up sleeping in Peter's bed.  He's taken very good care of her and she's torn between allowing him to continue leading the dance they've started, or leaving before she gets hurt again.  Her heart is still bruised and tender and she's not entirely sure she trusts her ex-husband not to hurt her again.  Though he's warned her to call him before she gets out of bed, Kate decides she needs to be less dependent on him, and more self-reliant.  However, she didn't expect to get caught. Though Peter is not above teaching Kate a lesson, he chooses instead to carry her over to the breakfast table that Consuelo set up in their bedroom. Consuelo has fixed one of Kate's favorites and she is audibly showing her appreciation.

             "Did you know you make cute little purring noises when you're eating something you really like?"  Peter grinned like a thoroughly amused, yet pleased male.

            "I do not."

            "Yes, you do.  They're the same sort of noises you make in bed when I put my mouth on you.  It's one of the reasons I love that sound so much."  When Kate blushed, Peter laughed.  "I also love that I can still make you blush."

            She narrowed her eyes.  "I sense you are building up to something with all this sweet talk."

            Leaning back in his chair, he crossed his arms over his chest and regarded her carefully.  "You were jealous yesterday when Christine Walker came on to me.  Weren't you?"

Even Kate realizes what she did was wrong, but she's not ready to admit her mistakes to Peter, yet.

Frisky Friday - 6/12/15 - A Simple Misunderstanding - Elly wants to leave - now #CorbinsBend #DD

It's Frisky Friday!  Yay!  And I'm sharing another excerpt from my first spanking romance in the Corbin's Bend series, A Simple Misunderstanding.

He came to her rescue when she needed him most, almost to lose her when she disobeyed him.

In this scene, which begins Chapter 12, Eleanor Benson (Elly) is due to be released from the hospital, after a five day stay.  Gerald Douglas (Jerry, who is Corbin Bend's vet) has been at her side almost the whole time, but he had to leave the day before for an emergency.  When he called Elly that evening to tell her he was driving back to Denver, she sounded strange on the phone, but insisted he remain in Corbin's Bend, claiming she wanted to go to sleep early. Certain she was not telling him the truth, he pressed a little harder only to have say she had to hang up because a nurse just came in.  Convinced something was up, he calls the nurse's station, but they claim Elly is alone and nothing out of the ordinary has happened.  He stays home as she wanted, but remains ill at ease.  When he arrives at the hospital the next morning, Elly is nearly in a panic, so he promptly assumes control by grasping her fingers.

Though Jerry didn’t expect Arthur to be the reason for Elly’s panic, the knowledge seemed to fit neatly into the puzzle of information he’d put together. “What happened?” he asked, keeping his voice calm and indicating only a slight interest in her revelation, though he wanted to know every detail.

“He got off the elevator, and I heard him yelling he would check all the rooms on the floor if the nurses refused to tell him where I was.”

“What time did this happen, do you remember?”

“Around 2 PM.” She drew back to gaze at him. “He was so furious, Jerry, he threatened the staff. I could hear him throwing things and a few women screamed, though I couldn’t tell if they were nurses or patients. I’m such a coward, I hid in the bathroom.”

He considered her smart to get out of the man’s way, not a coward. “Did someone call security?”

“Yes. But if he got up here once, he’ll be able to do it again. I know him.”

 

Elly doesn't want to put Jerry in a position where he could get hurt, so she tries to avoid telling him what happened to get her so upset. However, he already suspects she's keeping something from him, and Jerry views omissions to be the same as lying, for which he has zero tolerance.  Given her fragile condition, he needs to tread carefully.

It's Book Hooks Wednesday!  Yay!  And I'm sharing an excerpt from my new spanking novella in the Corbin's Bend series, Past Interference, the sequel to A Simple Misunderstanding. Past Interference is part of the Corbin's Bend Valentine's Day collection "Love in the Rockies," and is not being sold separately.

What she needed was the opposite of what she wanted.

In this scene, which occurs near the beginning of Chapter Two, Eleanor Benson (Elly) is six days away from getting married again, and her doubts are eating her alive.  After suffering through a bout of stress-related migraines, she's finally gotten up enough courage to tell her husband-to-be that she's not sure she wants to get married.  Jerry knows Elly is nervous, but believed he'd managed to convince her he is nothing at all like her first husband, Arthur, who abused her.  Unfortunately, he's beginning to realize Elly's past may just ruin their future together, so he insists they sit down and discuss what's bothering her.

Sighing, Elly trudged into the living room and took a seat, pulling her knees up to her chin. Jerry returned a few minutes later with two white pills and some water. She swallowed the tablets without comment, then lowering her legs; she set the empty glass on the low table before them.

He gave her a single nod, sat beside her, and swiveled his body to face her. “Now, tell me what’s wrong.”

Angling her body so their knees almost touched, she admitted, “I keep thinking about Arthur.”

“What about him?”

“That he didn’t really change until after we got married.” Jerry stiffened and she placed a hand on his thigh. “I realize you two are nothing alike, and my fears are ridiculous… It’s just… I was wondering why we couldn’t simply continue as we’re doing. We love each other, so it’s not essential we make our relationship legally binding, is it?”

 

Elly wants Jerry to tell her she's being foolish, but he's not about to do that.  He loves her, and he takes her concerns seriously.  So, he's determined they discuss her concerns and address them before things get out of hand.
