Guest Post - 2/12/19 - Returning to Us by PK Corey #Corbin'sBend #SecondChance

Susan and Hal want to rekindle the passion in their marriage, but there are a few things they need to straighten out before they do.

Let me know you’re always here to lean on and don’t let me pull away – it’s lonely and scary when I do.

Excerpt:

Susan watched as he brought the list over and laid it by her plate. Giving it a quick glance, her eyes widened. Snatching it up, she turned to him in fury. “Damn it, Hal! I’m not buying all this shit and you’re not using it on me today. I can only be pushed so far!”
Hal calmly took her hand and headed for the bedroom. His completely calm manner shook her as she suddenly realized he was in this for real. He didn’t say a word. Only Susan was talking, and she felt like she was babbling. “Stop Hal, this is just too much. You’ll kill me if you use all that. And I can’t buy this stuff in Corbin’s Bend. Everyone will know what you’re going to do. I’ll die of embarrassment.”
Hal let her rave on as he bent her over the bed and pulled down her pajama pants. The small wooden paddle lay on the dresser and Hal took it in a firm grip.
With no warm-up of any kind, Hal lay down six scalding swats, three on each side. “Are you ready to listen now?” he asked conversationally.
Damn it, Hal! That was too hard! Stop it and let me up.”
Another six firm swats followed the first. “Let me know when you’re ready to listen,” Hal told her quietly.
“Fuck all this, Hal. You let me up, now!”

Hal chuckled to himself. They were already making progress. The few times he’d tried to spank her in the past ten years or so, she hadn’t even reacted. He realized now that he’d been tentative back then and she’d just taken what little he’d given, then gotten up and walked away seemingly unaffected. He loved that she was taking this seriously enough now to fight him. The next round, he gave her five on each side and there was nothing tentative about them.

Blurb:

After thirty-five years, Susan thought her marriage was over the morning after their last child's wedding. Hal, her husband, said he needed to talk about something important. She knew it couldn’t be good. They rarely even spoke anymore. In the beginning they’d been so close, so passionate. Practicing domestic discipline had been a wonderful part of their lives—sometimes.

But over the years it had all drifted away, even when Susan asked for what she needed. He would occasionally give her a mild, sexy spanking, but the real discipline she craved was a thing of the past. Now, Hal suddenly wanted to talk about moving to Colorado to live in Corbin's Bend, a community where spanking was not only accepted, but encouraged. Could this bring back the closeness and passion they’d once had? Could Susan trust that this time Hal would truly step up?

About the Author:

After spending thirty-six years in two careers I liked just fine, I’ve finally found my dream career as a writer. I’ve been happily married for thirty-five-years and my sweet husband has gotten used to the unique experience of living with a writer. He is very encouraging and an excellent editor when he’s pressed into service.
I’ve been intrigued by spanking stories since before I first saw Ricky spank Lucy. Stories of this nature were hard to come by before the Internet and the ones I found were a little harsh on discipline and very much lacking in love. So, I made up my own stories and enjoyed these in my head for years. I finally began writing them down. Although the lovely women in my stories are spanked often, the love between them and their men takes top priority.
My Cassie’s Space series shows a mature couple who are deeply in love. Despite loving Cassie’s free-spirited ways, Tom is determined to keep her safe, even if it takes a trip over his knee. And with her friend Sue by her side and all they get into, a trip over his knee is very likely. My new series, Cal’s Law, is about a younger couple. Though they come from very different backgrounds, love and discipline draw them together.
I love my husband, my kids, my cats, reading, writing and hearing from my readers. You can contact me at pk.corey@yahoo.com

#SatSpanks - 1/13/18 - A Simple Misunderstanding - Elly clings after a spanking #CorbinsBend #Spanking

He came to her rescue when she needed him most, almost to lose her when she disobeyed him.

Reading this material at Work could get you spanked.

Welcome to the Saturday Spankings blog hop.  My stories are all M/f with the dominant male determined to protect the woman he cares for and loves, or grows to love, by doing whatever it takes to ensure her safety and continued health.  This includes administering a spanking when she needs one.

My submission for this week is a selection from my fourth spanking book, A Simple Misunderstanding, a Corbin's Bend novel.

In this scene, which occurs in the last third of the book, Eleanor Benson (Elly) has moved in with Gerald Douglas (Jerry) after she is released from the hospital, still recovering from injuries she received from her husband.  Jerry insists she stay close to the house and not take her dog walking in the park on the first day she's home.  However, when an older neighbor calls to her from the dog park, Elly disobeys Jerry's instructions and takes their two dogs with her, unaware her abusive husband is lying in wait for her.

When her actions nearly get her killed, Elly finally accepts her only option is to divorce her husband, but after signing the papers, she realizes Jerry is still angry over her disobedience.

Frustrated by the distance growing between them,  Elly realizes unless she confronts him, Jerry will continue to treat her like an invalid, despite his growing anger. Still, when push comes to shove, and Jerry accepts her challenge, Elly begins to have second thoughts. Covering her unease with bravado, she demands to know what makes him think she's asking to be spanked.

Despite her reticence to submit, Jerry recognizes Elly's show of defiant disobedience as a cry for him to take action, so he remains adamant without force. Unfortunately, what Elly really wants is for Jerry to take the decision away from her, so her submission is no longer her choice, except that's not how Jerry prefers to do things, but he does when Elly leaves him no choice. So, over his knee she went, but Jerry also wants her to know that his punishment was being given with love even as he insists she promise not to disobey him again after each swat.

When the tenth swat is delivered, Elly's pride crumbles and she bursts into tears.

Knowing she was being foolish, and childish, and totally overreacting, Elly covered her face with her hands and started to sob. “I’m sorry. I’ll try not to be this difficult in the future. Hold me, Jerry. Please don’t let me go.”
He drew her up in his arms. “I have no intention of ever letting you go, so put that idea right out of your head.” Cupping her cheeks in his hands, he kissed her. Her face had to be blotched and her nose all runny, but he didn’t seem to notice as he reassured her with his lips and tongue until every bit of resistance she possessed melted away as if it had never existed. She loved being held by him. When he released her mouth, she curled into his chest like a scared child.
Warm fingers rubbed her shoulders and arms with gentle reassurance. “Now, were those few swats worth all the fuss you put up?”
Elly laughed through her tears, realizing she had kicked and screamed, and he had taken her seriously. Rather than answer, she clung even tighter. His shirt smelled fresh, as if he’d recently removed it from the dryer, while Jerry’s neck exuded the clean, piney fragrance of his soap, his lips still possessed a hint of beer and his arms retained only a trace of the scent she’d associated with his clinic.

After being abused by her husband, Elly is antsy about entering into another DD relationship, but she's disobeyed Jerry, and until he forgives her, a part of her will remain unsettled and ill-at-ease.  Rather than continue in limbo, Elly decides to push Jerry into taking action, but getting what she asks for isn't always what she wants.

Blurb:

Though Arthur and Eleanor Benson have been practicing domestic discipline for three months since their wedding, he insists moving to Corbin's Bend, where domestic discipline is the norm rather than the exception, will revitalize their marriage. Elly has doubts, but since Arthur is the undisputed head of their household, they move. However, once Arthur becomes immersed in a community where spanking is not only permitted, but encouraged, his personality undergoes a dramatic change. Accusing his submissive wife of being lazy, disorganized and disobedient, he employs creative methods of pain and humiliation to mold Elly from the imperfect woman he married into the perfect woman he desires. And Elly finds herself a virtual prisoner in her own home, accountable only to the man who rules her life with a cane.

In his years as a vet, Jerry Douglas has seen what abuse does to animals, and he recognizes those same signs in Elly Benson during her daily escape to the dog park with her tiny poodle. Jerry steadfastly supports the tenets of domestic discipline and enjoys the freedom Corbin's Bend offers its residents, but he remains fiercely protective of anyone in need of a champion. And when he witnesses evidence of harsh handling, his instinct is to rush in and rescue. Problem is Elly Benson is a married and consenting adult who insists all her bruises and welts are nothing more than a simple misunderstanding between her and her husband, until the day Arthur Benson takes his authority and discipline one-step too far, endangering Elly's life.

#MFRWHooks - 11/15/17 - Past Interference - Elly challenges Arthur #CorbinsBend #MFRWAuthor

It's Book Hooks Wednesday!  Yay!  And I'm sharing an excerpt from my spanking novella in the Corbin's Bend series, Past Interferencethe sequel to A Simple Misunderstanding. Past Interference was originally part of the Corbin's Bend Valentine's Day collection "Love in the Rockies," but is now being sold separately.

What she needed was the opposite of what she wanted.

In this scene, which occurs near the beginning of Chapter Two, Eleanor Benson (Elly) is six days away from getting married again, and her doubts are eating her alive.  After suffering through a bout of stress-related migraines, she's finally gotten up enough courage to tell her husband-to-be that she's not sure she wants to get married again.  Jerry knows Elly is nervous, but believed he'd managed to convince her he is nothing at all like her first husband, Arthur, who abused her.  Unfortunately, he's beginning to realize Elly's fear of her past may ruin their future together, so he suggests they sit down and discuss why she's having second thoughts, and why he wants to marry her. Elly insists she's not afraid of Jerry, but when he realizes she hadn't been afraid of her first husband when they got married, either, he seeks to understand what happened between them.

“I didn’t intend to disappoint or shame him.”
“Of course not. Do you remember why he spanked you the second time?”
“I argued with him, and he took exception to my tone.”
“What did you argue about?”
Elly glanced up to meet his gaze. “My working.” She and Jerry had a similar disagreement, but for a slightly different reason. He didn’t like the thought of her driving to Denver or Boulder during the winter. She could work out of their home, if she wished, but he preferred she didn’t commute. Elly gave in, but planned to broach the topic again in the spring.
“He wanted me to quit my job. I liked being a receptionist, but he believed all my attention should be focused on him, and my working reflected badly on his ability to provide for me. I pointed out that a lot of women worked, and their husbands didn’t seem to mind.”
“And he spanked you for saying that?”
“No, but I got a warning my tone bordered on disrespect.”
“Did it?”
“According to our established rules, yes. I deliberately challenged his authority.”
“So, what was the tipping point?”
“When I told him I thought his attitude was a relic from the dark ages, and he had the social conscience of a Neanderthal.”
Jerry choked. “Yeah. I can imagine he took exception to that.”
“He took more than exception. He took a wooden spoon to my rear end and told me I acted no better than a spoiled brat who needed to be taken in hand.”
“And you disagreed?”
Elly shrugged. “I didn’t much care for his punishment, but he had a point. I was acting like a spoiled brat, because I was mad and didn’t like him telling me what to do.” She stared at Jerry. “I should have the right to work if I want.”

Elly wants Jerry to insist her fears are foolish, but he's not about to do that.  He loves her, and he takes her concerns seriously.  So, he's determined they discuss her worries and address them before things get out of hand. However, her first marriage was so disastrous, she's terrified to try again.

#SatSpanks - 11/4/17 - Past Interference - Promising obedience can lead to unhappiness #CorbinsBend #DomesticDiscipline

Sometimes you have to break the rules to get what you need.

My submission for this week is an excerpt from my new spanking novella in the Corbin's Bend series, Past Interferencethe sequel to A Simple Misunderstanding.  It used to be available only as part of the Love in the Rockies anthology, but is now being sold as a single release.

In this scene, which occurs in Chapter Six, Eleanor Benson (Elly) has made more than a few misjudgments, one of which results in her throat being injured when she experiences another run in with her ex-husband.  After she's been cleared by the doctor to talk, Jerry offers to call off from work then get them both a couple of drinks so they can discuss things through undisturbed. Elly thinks that's a good idea until Jerry admits he broached the topic of her uncertainties with their doctor and was given the advice that showing was better than telling. His words cause Elly more than a little unease. Having already made one serious mistake by marrying her first husband, she fears the consequences of making another.

Jerry’s appearance in Elly's life was close to a miracle. He was unstinting in his affection, patient and incredibly gentle. A part of her understood she was being ridiculous. Jerry would never purposefully hurt her in any way, but he was still a dominant male with certain expectations, and marriage was a sacred covenant. He might not intend to treat her any differently after they wed, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t.
“What are you thinking?”
“I’m wondering why you’re so insistent I promise to obey you in church when you don’t think it will make any difference in our relationship.”
“I didn’t say it wouldn’t make any difference, I merely said that since you’re already obeying me, it should make very little difference to you.”
“So, why don’t we simply drop the word? It could save us a lot of time and grief.”
“You want to know why I think eliminating ‘obey’ from your vows would be a mistake?”
She nodded.
“Because it’s not the word itself that’s causing your hesitancy, Elly. It’s your trust. I could agree and let you change your vows to ease your mind, but that would merely be placing a bandage on the problem, rather than rooting out its cause.”

Elly is grasping at straws. Though her rational mind tells her Jerry would never turn into the monster her husband became on their wedding night, the scared little girl hiding inside her fears promising obedience will only end with a second struggle for freedom against the suffocating pressure of another man's thumb.

#MFRWHooks - 10/18/17 - A Simple Misunderstanding - Jerry explains Domestic Discipline #CorbinsBend #Romance

It's Book Hooks Wednesday!  Yay!  And I'm sharing another excerpt from my new spanking romance in the Corbin's Bend series, A Simple Misunderstanding.  It's sequel, Past Interference is included both in the Love in the Rockies anthology and as a single title release.

He came to her rescue when she needed him most, almost to lose her when she disobeyed him.

In this scene, which occurs in Chapter Six,  Elly Benson is still in the hospital after her husband attacked her.  Jerry Douglas, who has secretly fallen in love in with Elly, remains at her side in the hospital while doctors assess her condition.

Not long after she was settled in her new room, Dr. Pendergast, the surgeon who’d operated on her spleen, came in to go over the results of her CT scan. Jerry didn’t want to leave, but Elly had a right to discuss her care with her doctor without a stranger listening in, even when he was the stranger in question. However, when he rose to depart, she said, “Don’t go.”
Jerry frowned, but resumed his seat.
Pendergast informed Elly her scans looked good. No sign of bleeding in either her abdomen or her head. Then he paused. “Now I need to ask you about the bruising we noticed on your wrists and buttocks.” He turned to Jerry, who gave a nod to indicate he understood which bruises the doctor meant.
“Legally, I must ask. Did your husband cause your injuries?”
Elly swallowed and glanced at Jerry. “Would you explain Corbin’s Bend to him?”
Jerry wanted to object, since he suspected the activities of Corbin’s Bend had little to do with the punishment Arthur had inflicted on his wife, but Elly gave him such a plaintive look, he relented.
Careful to use non-judgmental words, he explained how Corbin’s Bend was a community that catered to individuals who had an interest in domestic discipline. When Pendergast blinked, Jerry added, “Couples who practice DD often employ corporal punishment, which can include spanking, caning and whipping, but it is not considered abuse.”
“What is it, if not abuse?” the doctor asked, clearly unfamiliar with the concept.
“A way to preserve marital harmony through spousal discipline. I can send you some literature if you like, but most partners in DD do not resort to the levels of severity Mrs. Benson experienced.”

Jerry understands why Elly doesn't want to remain alone while her surgeon questions her, but he privately hopes the doctor will finally get Elly to admit her husband mistreats her.

#MFRWHooks - 9/27/17 - Past Interference - Elly opens up about her abusive ex-husband #CorbinsBend #DD

“You know how I felt about Arthur,” she answered with a sigh. “He was handsome, commanding, intelligent and domineering. I was young, silly and in love with the thought of a man like him taking command and protecting me. I just didn’t understand what that meant until after…”
“After he deflowered you and began to assert his authority?”
Closing her eyes against the unpleasant memory, she gave a nod. “Yes. Though, he was respectful toward me in the beginning. A little patronizing, perhaps, but he didn’t try to diminish me. He would correct me if I said or did something wrong, but he wouldn’t call me stupid or thoughtless. He liked teaching me things, but he also preferred to be the one in control.”
“That’s not unusual. Many Heads of Households prefer to set the rules. So when did he give you your first spanking?”
Elly squirmed as she recalled the embarrassing day in question. She didn’t care for the direction this conversation was taking, but understood why Jerry was asking, so she did her best to be honest. “A few days after we were settled in our new home. I burned our dinner and set off the smoke detector, bringing the fire department to our door.”
“Hmm. Let me guess. He punished you for being inattentive to the point you put yourself and your home in danger in a way that humiliated him?”
Elly gaped in surprise. “How did you know?”
“I finally figured out how your husband thinks.”

Elly wants Jerry to insist her fears are foolish, but he's not about to do that.  He loves her, and he takes her concerns seriously.  So, he's determined they discuss her worries and address them before things get out of hand.
