Guest Post - Bound & Inked, where Sheri Savill doesn't color between the lines #BDSM

Sheri Savill does not like coloring between the lines.  She prefers to fill the entire page with the colors of her choice without any limits to her imagination.  Her books are like that, too.  No holds barred, no limiting lines, everything and anything goes.  Today she's going to talk about her May release Bound & Inked as well as her own take on BDSM and life.

Janna wants a tattoo, and sexy tattoo artist Mark knows just what she needs. Together they explore the line between pleasure and pain.

Janna Sommers is a brave woman who knows just what she wants: a tattoo -- a full sleeve black and grey tattoo, to be specific. It's an ambitious goal for anyone's first ink, but when she meets handsome and gifted tattoo artist Mark Temple, she finds herself yearning for something more than one of his original designs.

As she willingly places herself in Mark's experienced -- if sometimes cruel -- hands, she finds herself submitting to a strong and uniquely creative dominant, one who arouses intense physical sensations in her -- both pleasure and pain.

Bound to his tattoo table, will she also allow herself to be used as a living canvas for Mark's ... darker desires? Will she allow herself to be marked, indelibly and forever, as his?

NOTE: This is an erotic romance novella depicting consenting adults engaging in tattooing, piercing, extensive BDSM content, bondage, sexual scenes including anal, and more. If any of these things offend you, this is not the book for you. Approximately 24,000 words.

[This novella was previously published as Marked for Submission. Please be aware that this is the same story, but also features a few brand-new chapters and other new material, a new cover, and a new title. The book has also been completely re-edited to provide you with a more satisfying reading experience.]

Okay, Sheri, before we get to your excerpt, bio and links, I'd like to ask a question.

When you write, do you ever model any characters after actual people?
I’ll never tell. Heh. No, seriously, I think all writers infuse their work with at least some “real” don’t they? Even if it’s fantasy, sci-fi, steampunk, horror, whatever, your own values, ways of seeing things, it’s all in there. It has to be. It’s your essence in there. Even if you’re putting on a voice, it’s your put-on voice, if that makes sense. So yes, I write about fictional characters that I make up entirely, but my real life experience in BDSM, since the early 90s, is definitely part of my tone and overall style, my “voice,” as they say. And sometimes I use small phrases in writing that I have used, or still use, in real life. I like my characters to speak a little more realistically, I guess. Aiming more at that in newer writing, too. I read over my older stuff and cringe. I can’t make character-Doms say things that make me laugh because they’re so cliché. For example, “submit to me now!” That kind of thing. Jesus. But I did that as a parody (Bound for Disappointment), though.

I'd love to ask you more questions about your "real life" experiences, but I don't want to keep our readers waiting.  Below is a tantalizing excerpt from "Bound & Inked" by Sheri Savill.

“Sorry, but the thong has to go, girl,” he said.
Her breath came in shallow pants as a gloved hand palmed her pussy and squeezed briefly, then released and moved to the sides of her silky thong. He slipped a finger up under the fabric, raising it off her skin, and pushed the scissors under and snipped. He snipped the other side, fully exposing her cunt as the material fell away. He lightly traced her mound with a gloved finger, looking pensive. It occurred to her that she was like a canvas being prepped for paint – the surface had to be clear, set up for the artist before he could begin to create.
“Definitely don’t want this,” he said as he abruptly yanked the thong completely away and tossed it to the floor.
Oh fuck, I’m so wet. I know he can see how wet I am.
“Someone looks like she’s enjoying this already,” he murmured, staring into her face. “I’m going to start tattooing your arm now. Lots of work to do. And yes, I can guarantee… It’s going to hurt.”
It’s going to hurt. His words set off a strobe-like shudder; her entire body shivered briefly. Janna took a deep breath and released it slowly, realizing that she had a long night ahead of her.
“Oh. Wait.” He tilted his head slightly, studying her. Then he reached out and yanked her white tank top up and over her breasts so they were fully exposed. The top bunched up in a roll over the tops of her soft mounds, framing them. “That’s better.” He stepped back a little, looking satisfied.
Janna’s mouth opened slightly, her breath coming shallow as the cool air of the room hit her nipples. How they ached, wanting to be touched…
Oh my God. Oh my God.
It was really all she could think.

Though I hate to leave Janna bound and ready to be inked, I want to tell you a little more about Sheri now as well as where you can purchase her books or visit her online.

SHERI SAVILL is the author of dark BDSM erotic romance, and yes, humor both kinky and vanilla. She is a real-life submissive who was into BDSM way before it was cool. A career in media and journalism (reporter, editor, DJ, copywriter) drove her to the brink of insanity, so she became an attorney and web developer.
Known for her irreverent blog, Savill is heavily tattooed, pierced, super geeky, easily annoyed yet fun-loving, and caffeinated. She speaks often of a treasured "letter from Dave Barry" that no one has actually seen. Award-winning sex author and columnist Violet Blue called Savill's BDSM parody "painfully, hilariously timeless."
When she's not charging her portable electronic devices, Savill spends her time writing, thinking about writing, or wishing she had written. She scored a 780 out of 800 on a standardized writing test of some sort and, just as she predicted, has never had to use calculus in her entire adult life.

#SPeekSunday - 11/9/14 - Acting Lessons - Safe in his arms #DD #SpankingRomance

Peter loved Kate with all his being, but that didn't mean he'd tolerate an ultimatum from her.

For Sneak Peek Sunday we share six paragraphs from a published work or a WIP (work in progress).

My submission for this week is from my 5th book, and newest release, Acting Lessons.

He was a strict and demanding college professor turned professional director who excelled at giving acting lessons.  She was his shy and uncertain former student who became a professional actress under his tutelage.  They fell in love, married, and won two Tony Awards before tragedy struck and a simple kiss ripped them apart.

After a six month separation, Peter Thorton decides to take matters into his own hands by making his famous wife, Kate, an offer she wouldn't refuse.  Plainly put, he wants her back and he intends to do whatever is necessary to achieve his goal, even if it means giving his stubborn, willful leading lady a daily reminder over his knee that she promised to obey him.

In this scene, which occurs early in the first chapter, Peter Thorton, seated comfortably in an agent's office, is attempting to convince his wife, Kate, to give their marriage a second chance by signing her to appear with him in a College Summer Stock production of "Kiss Me Kate."  Kate isn't sure she can trust Peter with her heart again, since she believes he's been unfaithful to her, but she's never stopped loving him.  And though Domestic Discipline originally played a part in their marriage, their last two years together had them living like polite strangers sharing the same house.

Peter realizes he made a mistake in letting Kate do as she pleased, so he's determined to rectify matters immediately by informing his famous wife that if she keeps acting like a brat, he will turn her over his knee. Since Kate doesn't believe him, she dares him to try it.  He doesn't hesitate, And before she gets another word out, Kate finds herself stomach down across her husband's knees.  Furious and humiliated by both her position and Peter's warning swat, she demands her agent call the police while Peter suggests the agent give them some time alone.  Furious, Kate makes the mistake of challenging her husband, and he lets her know right away what he will and will not tolerate by proving to her his threats are no longer idle.

Fighting against tears and her own desire to be loved by this man again, Kate asked coolly, "So, what must I do to get you to let me go?"
"Has it really been that long, Katie?"
A sudden tightness grew in Kate's throat and chest, so she bit her lip to hold her emotions in check.  He was the only man she'd ever been with, the only one who'd ever spanked her, and the only man she'd ever loved.  And, here she was, draped over his knees again as if they were newlyweds.  Despite her valiant efforts to restrain them, tears started to fall, and once Kate lowered the flood barrier, she was powerless to stem the flow.
He hadn't hurt her, yet before long she was bawling like a heartbroken little girl.  Seconds later, Peter shifted her so she sat on his lap.  Unable to face him, Kate pressed her nose to his chest and sobbed as he soothed her with soft, reassurances.
"It's all right, darling.  I've got you.  You're safe."
They were nonsense words, but Kate soaked them up like a dry sponge.  A woodsy fragrance enveloped her.  He smelled so good, she realized.  So familiar.  So comforting.

Kate pushed, so Peter pulled.  Now Kate's regretting having pushed so hard, but only because she got caught.

M/F, DD and a staged production of Kiss Me, Kate.

#SatSpanks - 11/8/14 - A Simple Misunderstanding - Not in the mood for sass #DD #Spanking

He came to her rescue when she needed him most, almost to lose her when she disobeyed him.

Reading this material at Work could get you spanked.

Welcome to the Saturday Spankings blog hop.  My stories are all M/f with the dominant male determined to protect the woman he cares for and loves, or grows to love, by doing whatever it takes to ensure her safety and continued health.  This includes administering a spanking when she needs one.

My submission for this week is a sneak peek from my fourth spanking book, A Simple Misunderstanding, a Corbin's Bend novel published on July 15 by Blushing Books.  I hope you enjoy it.

In this scene, which occurs in the last third of the book, Eleanor Benson (Elly) has moved in with Gerald Douglas (Jerry) after she is released from the hospital, still recovering from injuries she received from her husband.  Jerry insists she stay close to the house and not take her dog walking in the park on the first day she's home.  However, when an older neighbor calls to her from the dog park, Elly disobeys Jerry's instructions and takes their two dogs with her, unaware her abusive husband is lying in wait for her.

When her actions nearly get her killed, Elly realizes her only option is to divorce her husband, but after signing the papers, she realizes Jerry is still angry over her disobedience. At a loss as to what she can do to repair things between them, Elly tries to be helpful.

“I’ll fix dinner,” Jerry announced.
Elly stood. “I’ll help.”
“No. You can go sit in the living room until I call you.”
“But—”
He whirled around. “Elly, I’m not in the mood for any sass right now, so I’d greatly appreciate it if you’d do as I requested for once. I’ve asked Marcus to come over later to check you out, so you can rest until he gets here.”

After being abused by her husband, Elly is nervous about entering into another DD relationship, but she's disobeyed Jerry, and despite her stated excuses knows she was wrong to do so.  So she's determined to do whatever is necessary to make amends.

M/F Domestic Discipline in Colorado.

Blurb:

Though Arthur and Eleanor Benson have been practicing domestic discipline for three months since their wedding, he insists moving to Corbin's Bend, where domestic discipline is the norm rather than the exception, will revitalize their marriage. Elly has doubts, but since Arthur is the undisputed head of their household, they move. However, once Arthur becomes immersed in a community where spanking is not only permitted, but encouraged, his personality undergoes a dramatic change. Accusing his submissive wife of being lazy, disorganized and disobedient, he employs creative methods of pain and humiliation to mold Elly from the imperfect woman he married into the perfect woman he desires. And Elly finds herself a virtual prisoner in her own home, accountable only to the man who rules her life with a cane.

In his years as a vet, Jerry Douglas has seen what abuse does to animals, and he recognizes those same signs in Elly Benson during her daily escape to the dog park with her tiny poodle. Jerry steadfastly supports the tenets of domestic discipline and enjoys the freedom Corbin's Bend offers its residents, but he remains fiercely protective of anyone in need of a champion. And when he witnesses evidence of harsh handling, his instinct is to rush in and rescue. Problem is Elly Benson is a married and consenting adult who insists all her bruises and welts are nothing more than a simple misunderstanding between her and her husband, until the day Arthur Benson takes his authority and discipline one-step too far, endangering Elly's life.

#FriskyFriday - 11/7/14 - Mortal Illusions - Opening Night traditions #Paranormal #Vampires

Sometimes a monster really is hiding under the bed.

Welcome to another offering for Frisky Friday, where we hope you're getting as excited about the weekend as we are.  This week, I'm sharing an excerpt from my 1st book, Mortal Illusions. A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a series of 3 books.  Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently under production.

This snippet occurs at the beginning of Chapter 6.  Germaine St. Justine and Claire Daniels are both attending the opening night festivities of Germaine's newest musical "Dracula." Claire's mother died the day before, and Germaine dedicated their opening night performance to her.  Though Claire is grateful for Germaine's support, she suspects more existed between her mother and the thirty-year old financial producer.  He might be considered an angel in theater parlance, but Claire has grown more and more convinced he is really a vampire and was once her mother's lover.  Even though Claire is right, Germaine has taken great care to keep his condition a secret.  So, wWhen she begins making wild accusations Germaine is really a vampire, he suggests their backstage doctor sedate her enough to calm her down so she can complete her performance.  Claire is furious with him for avoiding her questions and overriding her wishes in the matter, but attends the party anyway, since she doesn't want to do anything that might ruin the night her mother had most wanted to see.  Claire's Broadway debut.
.

Although Germaine was obliged to attend the requisite opening night party, held at Sorentos instead of the more famous and infinitely more crowded Sardis, he opted to forgo his charade of drinking while he awaited the reviews.  Considering all the time, money, and careers that went into creating a show, it was a little maddening to admit that a single negative review from the Times could close it--in weeks, if not days.  Still, Germaine wasn't worried.  The musical still played to SRO audiences in London after nearly a year, and he expected New York to welcome it with the same enthusiasm.
They had a guaranteed box office draw with the rakishly debonair and talented Nicholas Ventura starring as Dracula, and veteran actor Nigel Watkins, whom the press had recently compared to the late, great Olivier, as Van Helsing.  Claire was the only lead without a proven track record.  But her clear soprano voice, innocent face, and angelic figure made her an ideal casting choice for Lucy.  Germaine had fought for her then, just as he had defended her against Hailey's objections tonight, and now she refused to see him.  He hadn't expected her to be grateful, necessarily, but....
He spotted her entering Sorentos at the same time twenty other gentlemen took notice of her as well.  A man would have to be blind and dead not to pay visual homage to the lady in a sparkling creation of sequined turquoise satin.  A vision that brought nineteenth century chanteuses to mind.  Even her soft, gold-red hair was swept up into the Gibson girl style.

Claire's emotions have her teetering on the edge of sanity, but she is convinced what she witnessed wasn't a mere trick of the light.  Germaine's reflection in her dressing room mirror showed a face far more pale and skeletal than a living person could ever have.

#MFRWHooks - 11/5/14 - Deadly Enchantment - Two are stronger than one #Paranormal #Shapeshifters

When a man gets carried away, it's the woman who's swept off her feet.

This material is Not Safe For Work. If you’re not over 18, please explore elsewhere.

Welcome to MFRW Book Hooks, a regular Wednesday feature! Today, I'm sharing a snippet from my second paranormal romance, Deadly Enchantment, a Victorian paranormal romance concerning the deadly rivalry between two shape-wizard brothers.  The legitimate heir, Terrence, received his father's money and title, but his illegitimate half-brother, Dominic, received all their father's affection and love, earning all of Terrence's resentment.

Published by New Concepts Publishing, the story revolves around a young psychic woman unwittingly drawn into the brotherly conflict when she faces off with the dark wizard of Ravenscroft, whom she is convinced has brutally slaughtered her sister in a fit of jealous rage on their wedding night.

In this segment, Dominic's deepening feelings for Serena make it more likely his evil brother will target her.  Rather than risk losing her for good, Dominic decides to send Serena home directly after the funeral of his sister.  Serena doesn't want to leave, but arguing will gain her nothing but his anger and the likelihood of a more speedy departure, so she remains silent. Though Dominic is suspicious of Serena's new found docility, until she is safely away from him he insists she remain within his reach at all times, which includes sleeping in his bed.  Dominic knows he is endangering Serena's life by keeping her with him, but he is unable to let her go. He desires her while he hates himself for not having more control, even as he greedily samples all she is willing to offer.

Serena wanted to reassure Dominic, but she didn’t know how.  Neither of their gifts allowed them to see into the future, but together, with their powers combined, they were stronger.  She could feel it.  If only she could persuade him of the same.
“You’ll never convince me to willingly risk your life, my love, so don’t even consider it.”
“You read me too easily,” she murmured, not bothering to deny her thoughts.

Torn between his desire to protect the woman he loves, and his need to be with her, Dominic takes and gives back unstintingly, all the while praying he isn't making a fatal mistake.

#SPeekSunday - 11/2/14 - Arrested by Love - I suspect Kyle's going to be very disappointed #DD #SpankingRomance

He caught her speeding in a school zone and decided she needed to learn even civil disobedience could have very painful consequences.

Welcome to Sneak Peek Sunday.  For this hop we get to share six paragraphs from a published work or a WIP (work in progress).

My submission for this week is from my 3rd book, Arrested by Love.  A handsome, but strict, police officer  decides a spoiled socialite needs a special lesson in obeying the law.

Tiffany Morgan has been in love with Kyle Sinclair since she was ten years old, when he'd turned her over his knee for attempting to swim in a raging white water river. Though she'd been furious with him at the time, Tiffany never told her family what Kyle did. Instead, she began trailing after him like an annoying younger sister as she tried to gain his attention.

Now, eleven years later, Kyle, a patrol officer, is finding it much more difficult to maintain his distance from the irresistible and vivacious redhead who continues to invent ingenious ways to attract his interest. Though he dismissed her initial attraction to him as infatuation, as she grew-up, his own feelings of desire and protectiveness deepened. So, despite his constant struggle to resist the spirited little minx's lures, Kyle finally has to admit that he is losing the battle--badly.

After Kyle makes it clear to Tiffany that speeding will earn her much more than a ticket from him, he gives into the inevitable and asks her out on a date.  He loves her, but isn't sure he's the right guy for her.  However, he no longer fights the attraction between them as he dates her exclusively, but Tiffany wants more, so she makes her stand, and Kyle makes it clear how her life will change if they get married.  And he persists by asking if she even thought she could live on a budget.  When she informs him she is not fiscally irresponsible, he tells her that if she can live for one month on the budget he sets for her, and show how she'd been able to save the rest of her salary, without going to her daddy for help, he will ask her to marry him

When Tiffany totaled her money for the second week, she discovered she was $100 over budget, which when added to the $50 last week put her $150 over for the month so far.  She just couldn't face Kyle and tell him she'd failed again.  His disappointment in her would eat away at her self-esteem and make her feel terrible.  From his reaction last week, she suspected he wouldn't get angry, but he would give her a lecture on the necessity of frugality as well as suggest she didn't seriously wish to be his wife.  And that was one lecture she didn't want to hear.  So, she gathered up her mad money stash, to see if she could make it up that way.  When she discovered only $75 in her envelope, she knew that wouldn't work.  Realizing there was no hope for it,, she went to see her father.
"Daddy, Kyle and I are conducting a little test."
"Yes, I know, pumpkin.  He told me."
"Well, Burman's had a sale on this cute little dress that I really, really loved.  So, I got it, and now I'm over budget --again."
"Gee, that's too bad.  I suspect Kyle's going to be very disappointed in you."
Yeah, she knew that, too, which started to make her cry.

Tiffany loves Kyle, and wants to prove to him she can will make a good wife, except she's never tried to keep to a budget before, and she quickly discovers it's much harder than she originally thought.  She knows going to her father is against the rules, but she can't face Kyle's disappointment for the second week in a row, so she breaks the rule, convincing herself she'll make it up in another way.

#SatSpanks - 11/1/14 - A Dom's Dilemma - This is not a punishment #BDSM #SpankingRomance

She needed his protection, except he insisted on her honest submission first.

My submission for this week is from my first BDSM novel, A Dom's Dilemma, published by Blushing Books.  I'm picking up exactly where we left off last time.

In this scene, Jim, a former Texan who works as a police detective by day and lives and plays as a Dom by night, is in the Velvet Chains BDSM medical station working with his new submissive, Kelly Franklin.  When Kelly balks, Jim suspects fear, rather than brattiness, is responsible for her reaction.  After giving her repeated opportunities to tell him what's bothering her, he decides to continue with his original agenda.  However, when Kelly discovers he intends to give her an enema, her fear increases exponentially, which validates his suspicions, but doesn't address Kelly's lack of trust or stubborn refusal to obey.  So, after reminding his reluctant sub what BDSM is about, Jim gives her an ultimatum.  Say her safe word or submit.  Kelly agrees to do as he wants, though a persistent inner voice urges her to run away.  Despite Jim's gentleness, once he completes his anal exam, Kelly starts to tremble at the thought of what will come next, but telling her Dom why she's afraid isn't an option. Once he's got her strapped to the table, Master James steps around to issue Kelly some last minute instructions.

After giving her another quick kiss, Master James motioned for his assistant to stand beside him.  "Now, Master George here is gonna help coax you through this, and I'll be monitoring your other side.  All right?"
She nodded again, trying hard not to cry.  "Yes, Sir."
Giving her a warm and reassuring smile, he ran his fingers lightly through her hair.  "You're doin' real good, darlin'.  Now take some deep calmin' breaths for me and relax.  Let me or Master George know if you feel any discomfort at all."  Then he gave her nose a cautionary tap.  "This is not a punishment, Kelly.  I do not want you sufferin' pain in silence with the mistaken belief that is what I expect from you.  Because it's not.  You understand me, girl?"
Finally accepting that he didn't want to cause her any more discomfort than was necessary, helped calm Kelly's nerves.  "Yes, Sir," she answered softly.

Kelly has a past she's not willing to share with anyone.  However, withholding valuable information from a Dom is not a wise course of action for a sub to take.
