Pauline Allan chats about Gilded Lily, her new BDSM Menage Romance #BDSM

Today, Pauline Allan is joining us to tell us a little about herself and her brand new release "Gilded Lily."  So, grab your favorite beverage, slip off your shoes and come join us on the couch. There's lot's of room, and we love company.

Hi Kathryn. I'm so excited to join you today. I look forward to hearing from your readers and spending time chatting about the exciting world of writing.

Welcome, Pauline.  I'm so glad you were available to join us.  Out of curiosity, since I wrote for a long time before one of my manuscripts was accepted, how long did you write before you were published?
-Goodness gracious, what a question. I was looking through boxes in my basement and came across a "newspaper" I had put together for my family. I had interviewed my family and friends and wrote stories about the happenings at the time. The binding was put together with yarn! It was really a step back in time. So, I was nine years old when I did that and I had the writing bug since that time. I began writing short stories in the horror genre. That led to poetry and finally set my sights on romance five years ago. I wrote three novels in one year. "See Me," my debut novel, was written almost a year and six months ago. It was the fifth book I wrote and decided to throw my hat in the ring and submit it to two publishers. It was the first time I submitted my work to a publisher. Loose Id picked it up and the rest was history.

Loose Id is a very prestigious publisher, so congratulations on being picked up by them first time around.  Gilded Lily has two Doms and one sub and takes place in New Orleans, right?  So, tell us what sort of research you did for your book.
-I enjoy visiting Louisiana. Everything about the South intrigues me. I go to New Orleans two to three times a year. The magic of the city always inspires me. The plantation homes are steeped in history. There beautiful architecture is aesthetically rich. The huge houses were the inspiration for Lily's home. As for the BDSM aspect of the book, I have attended three BDSM clubs. Through asking questions and witnessing what happens in that type of setting I was able to compile my research to create the true aspect of the lifestyle.

Gilded Lily appears to be a very personal story.  Did you include any experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
-Gilded Lily was written in a small bedroom in my old house. My husband made me a makeshift desk in one corner and I banged away on my laptop for three months. I ignored my family and dealt with the most gut-twisting grief I've ever experienced. My grandmother had died and writing, as always, was my only way to handle the intense feelings I was experiencing. Lily also lost her grandmother and it was my way of processing my grief.
I can relate to that on a very personal level myself.  So, do you consider yourself a plotter or a pantser?
-I am a little bit of both. With my research for any project I begin with a brief description of the characters and their arcs. I use note cards to keep things organized. I then flesh out the story arc and sit down at the computer. I'm a firm believer the characters write themselves. They even surprise me in their responses and actions. I can't keep a firm outline for the stories because they tend to curve and wind around into their own new creation. My characters drive the story and remain at the forefront. The story or back drop of the situations comes about from the hero and heroines reactions to different obstacles.

I don't know of any authors who keep to a firm outline on their stories.  Keeping strictly to an outline doesn't allow the creative muse to offer input.  In all your reading, what book do you wish you’d written?
-Honestly, I should probably say some huge contribution to the literary world, but I must say it's a book that touched my heart on a deep level. It took me to a dark place and gave me redemption on the last page. The book was written by the talented Megan Hart. The title is Precious and Fragile things.

I haven't read it, but I'll definitely look it up.  What books would you say have influenced your writing most?
-There are six books that make up my sacred library. Story of O, The Beauty Series, Alice in Wonderland, and the unabridged book of Edgar Allan Poe's short stories.

I have read Anne Rice's Beauty series, but it was a long time ago.  If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
-Stephen King. His book, "On Writing," is a roadmap for writers describing how to write for the joy of putting a story to paper, but also how to get that story published. He made a life-changing statement in that book. It's okay to declare that I am a writer. Underneath everything else, when you strip me down to the bare bones, I'm a writer. He made it okay for me to admit that. An author doesn't have to be published to be a great writer. Never be ashamed of creativity. That was what Mr. King taught me.

I read Mr. King's book a long time ago and agree with you.  You write, therefore you are a writer, and no one can take that away from you.  Back to Gilded Lily.  Can you share a little of your current work with us?
-Gilded Lily hit the shelves on June 11th. Adam's ferocious sexual appetite for submission has left him frustrated and alone.  He turns to the photo in his wallet. The woman's full lips smile with laughter. The yellow sundress hugs her soft curves. The beautiful muse. His elusive flower.
Lily has a dark secret. A submissive without a Dominant, her life had derailed with grief, solitude, and rejection. Until a mysterious stranger's erotic education led to unfathomable pleasure.
Tony knew Lily's training would be his last attempt to escape the void in his life. An experienced Dom with the very nature of his control shaken, he has to run. There's one last responsibility to take care of before he can leave.
Lily, his once timid sub, is testing her boundaries and craves more. A love he can never give.
Tragedy leads Adam to Lily's plantation in Louisiana. While packing his brother's belongings, Tony offers the one precious thing Adam could never deny. The submission of his elusive flower.
The clock is ticking. Tony wants freedom. Adam demands total submission. Lily must choose. Does she cling to the safety of Tony's commands or risk the rejection of Adam's love?
Either way, a submissive's trust is a fragile thing. Once broken...it's lost forever.

The theme of a lot of my books is that trust is precious, so that's another area you and I have in common.  If you could talk directly to your readers, is there anything specific that you want to say to them?
-I write for the everyday woman. My heroines are curvy and full-figured. I want my readers to know that we are in the plus size numbers and have the right to enjoy our sexuality and bodies as much as our single digit friends. I want my books to transform you, leave you feeling satisfied and smiling. The tears I hope my books generate lead you on a journey to redemption. Whether you're folding laundry, tending to the kids, attending corporate meetings, or walking on the treadmill—my stories are for you.
I really like the way you said that.  Okay, next I'd like you to name one entity (person, place or thing) you feel supported or inspired you outside of your family members.
-My best friend Anne has always been my cheerleader. She's an avid reader of romance and erotic romance. She keeps me grounded and on task when it comes to my writing. She encourages me to tackle the farthest reaches of my creativity. We share a love of the South and it's always fun bouncing new ideas around with her.

Writing can be such a solitary activity, I think we all could use a cheerleader to back us up.  So, tell us what is your best guilty pleasure? (By best I mean worst.)
-I would have to say I have two. The peach bellini at The Court of Two Sisters in the French Quarter and a bag of beignets from Cafe du Monde at four in the morning. Yummy!

I'm smiling at that.  May have to make a trip to New Orleans.  I like to end my interviews with a few words of wisdom.  What advice, if any, would you give to other writers?
-Write. Write. Write. Anne gave me a sweatshirt that reads Just Get The Crap On The Page. The shirt hits the nail on the head. You can't be a writer if you don't get the words on the paper. Many people have the desire to write a story. Fewer actually put the idea on paper. A very small minority actually complete a book. Another good piece of advice is to promo and make contacts as if you've already published the book. The advice you receive from other writers is valuable. Establish your voice and stay true to it. Publishers and agents are looking for your personal style. Let your quirkiness come through and delve into your darkest emotions to really solidify your spirit in the stories.

That is perfect.  Thanks so much for visiting with us, Pauline.  I wish you much success.  Now. we'll post the information so people can pop over and purchase "Gilded Lily."

Horny Hump Day - June 12 - Acting Lessons #HornyHDay #Spanking #MFRWAuthor

Splendorous things can happen when the mind and body are in tune.

This material is NSFW (Not Safe For Work). If you’re not over 18, please explore elsewhere.

Welcome back to Horny Hump Day, a regular Wednesday feature! In this blog loop, we hope to provide you with tiny erotic tidbits of the most sexy and sensuous moments in our books. Just 3 sentences.  And boy is that hard to do, sometimes....

My submission for this week is an unedited sneak peek from my soon-to-be-released novel titled, Acting Lessons.

He was a strict and demanding college professor turned professional director who excelled at giving acting lessons.  She was his shy and uncertain former student who became a professional actress under his tutelage.  They fell in love, married, and won two Tony Awards before tragedy struck and a simple kiss ripped them apart.

After a six month separation, Peter Thorton decides to take matters into his own hands by making his famous wife, Kate, an offer she wouldn't refuse.  Plainly put, he wants her back and he intends to do whatever is necessary to achieve his goal, even if it means giving his stubborn, willful leading lady a daily reminder over his knee that she promised to obey him.

In this scene, which occurs in chapter six, Peter Thorton has just finished giving his wife, Kate, a relatively mild spanking for defying his instructions, and is preparing to make love to her for the first time in over two years.  Peter adores Kate, but he's not above teasing her a little to get her to verbalize what she wants and needs from him as he gentle nibbles her into a mass of writhing desire.  Though Kate understands fully what Peter wants her to do, she views his erotic teasing as akin to torture, and tells him so--directly.  His lips curved with a knowing smile, he responds, "They say torture is good for the soul."

She scowled at him.  "My soul is fine.  It's my body that's in distress."

Three sentences only.  Ahh.  Well, no gentleman worth the name should allow his lady to remain in physical distress for long.  So, the question is what will he do about it?
Acting Lessons has been accepted by Blushing Books.  Publication is tentatively scheduled for June 22.  So, while I'm waiting and working on my next book, I thought I'd share some more.

Blushing Books caters specially to those who love spanking stories in all genres.  So, if you enjoy stories with characters who have their bottoms warmed on occasion, for a variety of different reasons, pay them a visit.

Sneak Peek Sunday - June 9 - Deadly Enchantment #SPeekSunday #Shifter #MFRWAuthor

An unhappy shape shifter can be a dangerous companion....

For Sneak Peek Sunday authors share six paragraphs from a published work or a WIP (work in progress).

My submission for this week is from my 2nd book, Deadly Enchantment.  A shapeshifting wizard romance set in Victorian England published by New Concepts Publishing,

In this excerpt, which occurs near the end of the first Chapter, Dominic Westcroft has returned from London to discover his sister has invited several young women to his home, so he can select a new bride.  Except, Dominic has no intention of ever marrying again.  His fury with his sister's interference manifests into a green trail of hot smoke that he directs away from his sister.  Seemingly sentient, the tendril snakes through the ceiling and the floorboards of an upper room where the women are waiting.

Dominic rose and bent forward until their noses practically met.  “You really don’t want to battle me over this, Regina Elizabeth.  If I have to send these women back, I won’t be nearly as charitable about it as you.  So, I advise you to do as I say before I tend to the matter myself.”
* * * *
Serena was the first to see the sinuous trail of green mist snaking up from the floorboards, but she said nothing assuming it was another manifestation of her fertile imagination and if she ignored it, it would go away.  However, Susan saw it next, and she screamed.  The tendril immediately ceased its serpent-like meandering and headed directly for the frightened woman like a purposeful, slithering tentacle of green fog.
Susan screamed again, but fear kept her rooted where she stood.  Though Serena stood furthest away from Susan and the steadily advancing trail, when she noticed the others remained frozen in fear of the phenomenon, she took a step toward it and called, “Stop.”
The green tentacle turned again.  This time toward her.
It had almost reached her when Allison let out a small cry of despair.  The tentacle started to turn once again, but acting instinctively Serena plunged her hand into the coalescing trail, only to draw back from its intense heat with a gasp.  The brief encounter caused Serena’s flesh to prickle in reaction.  The smoke-like tentacle had been filled with an angry masculine presence, which Serena recognized and recoiled from at the same time.  With her touch, the smoke-filled snake immediately turned from green to blue and took on an even more vaporous appearance.

Afraid and uncertain, Serena took a step back, but the bluish mist followed.  When she took another step back, the mist hovered for a moment, and then rushed forward to wrap itself around her fingers and wrist.  This time the snake-like mist felt warm and tingly, like the hissing sparks of a doused flame.  Not enough to burn, but enough to set the tiny curls at the nape of Serena’s neck on end.  When the mist started to trail up her arm, she could feel its essence trying to meld with hers in an attempt to probe her mind.  Afraid of its intent, she instinctively closed her eyes and tried to close her mind.  Uncertain of her success, and leery of the consequences of failure, she quickly drew back. Temporarily thwarted, the translucent tentacle dissipated briefly then reformed again to lightly encircle her wrist.  Struggling not to show her fear, she pulled back again, and this time it dissipated completely.

Serena has no idea what just touched her, but she fears it may have gained more from her than she ever could have from it, which could present a very real danger to her.

Saturday Spankings - June 8 - Mortal Illusions #SatSpanks #Vampires #MFRWAuthor

Show me an angry vampire, and I'll show you an unhappy mortal.

NOTE: Reading this material at Work could get you spanked.

Welcome to the Saturday Spankings blog hop.  My stories are all M/f with the dominant male determined to protect the woman he cares for and loves, or grows to love, by doing whatever it takes to ensure her safety and continued health.  This includes administering a spanking when she needs one.

My submission for this week is from my 1st book, Mortal Illusions. A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a series of 3 books.  Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently under production.

When Claire Daniels discovers Germaine St. Justine is a vampire, she sets a plan in motion to convince him to cure her brother of AIDS.  Though an innocent in sexual relations, Claire is savvy enough to realize the best way to gain Germaine's support is to have an intimate relationship with him.  However, having a vampire take you to bed isn't quite the same as sleeping with the boy next door.  There are complications.  And Germaine is dominant enough to add a few more Claire hadn't expected.

In this segment, Claire has sought Germaine out at his private night club for the first time, only to discover his club offers much more than drinks for those with and without fangs.  The day room at Illusions is equipped to administer punishments as well.  While Claire is trying to reconcile with Germaine, one of his vampires enters the club with his mate in tow and demands permission to publicly chastise her.  What no one expected, however, was for Germaine not only to agree, but call for a supporting vote from his council.  Though the scene is given from Claire's point of view, at the moment she's too stunned to fully process what is about to take place.

When every man present raised his hand,
Germaine gestured toward Marcus. “Bring Phillip one of our whips. The feather one should do nicely. And order the platform lowered.” He turned back to the woman, but her eyes were narrowed on Claire with a look of speculation.
“As it is too early to close the club, shall I order a gag and restraints brought out as well, madam?” Germaine inquired with formal politeness.
“That won't be necessary,” the woman answered before facing her husband. Her expressive eyes begging forgiveness, she bent on one knee before him. “I have erred most grievously against you, my husband, and can but plead for your leniency and mercy.”

Certain dynamics are at play here that aren't readily apparent, but Claire is beginning to get very worried.

M/F, Contemporary vampire romance in a society based on D/s.

Guest Post - Lyndi Alexander's "A Small Degree of Hope" where a cold-blooded creature can be hot

Lyndi Alexander, author of "A Small Degree of Hope" is here to talk about her new release, the premise for which I found very intriguing.  I never imagined cold blooded creatures could mate with warm blooded ones, but Lyndi will reveal how her research has made the concept possible.  What's more intriguing is the idea that this novel may develop into a series.  So, take your shoes off, sit back and relax while we assume the controls and take you on a slightly different, yet utterly fantastic journey....

Welcome, Lyndi, I'm so glad you could join us.  I'd like to say that I love the title of your new book.  Can you tell us how you came up with it?
I researched the quote libraries on line looking for something that really defined that moment when love catches fire. I found this quote by Stendhal:  A very small degree of hope is sufficient to cause the birth of love.   It was so appropriate, because when Kylie loses everything else, Griff brings her hope, which does eventually lead to love between them.

 Who designed your cover?
Actually, it was Lyrical Press CEO Renee Rocco. I’d been working on my 12th round of edits with my editor Penny Barber, and running some promotion of the work at the same time. Renee was so pleased I was working hard, she put the cover together herself! I love the sci-fi looking writing, and the space background.

A shapeshifting lizard and a human is such an unusual combination for a romance, and very intriguing.  What sort of research did you do for your book?
Because my hero, Griff, is a reptilian shapeshifter, and the bad guys of the novel are aliens of Griff’s race who are trying to mutate human women into their species, I interviewed some college professors who teach comparative biology, trying to figure out exactly how that change would take place. Since it appears that reptiles and humans have common lineage in the way-back times, it wasn’t as far a stretch as what I thought!
I also studied up on autopsies and genetic studies so that my heroine investigator, Kylie Sanderson, would have a strong foundation for her detective/CSI type work.

Did you include any experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
I actually created Kylie several years ago as a character in an online role-playing game through which I met my husband. He had a number of characters, one of whom was a shapeshifter named Griff, and he showed me how Griff was worth loving. The two had many adventures in the game, and I was pleased to be able to bring them to new life in the pages of a novel and share them with readers.

Okay, I'm hooked.  Can you share a little of "A Small Degree of Hope" with us?

This is an excerpt from the book—after she’s been captured, then rescued from the evil reptiles.

Kylie extricated herself from Griff’s grip, overwhelmed. Let’s see these options again. Be a mindless lizard. Die. She considered the implications of altered genetics, possibly leaving her not lizard or human. Or worse than either. Fantastic.

He doesn’t lie to me. I’m not going to lie to him.

Behind her, Griff suggested, “There is another alternative, if we believe the intelligent female is superior to the animal female.”

She walked to the window, studying the darkened houses around them, feeling the echo of deserted emptiness swell inside her heart. “Under your theory, asserting my cells seek out a higher level, you could change me into an intelligent female. But I’d live out my life as one of you.”

“It is merely one alternative. I would care for you either way.”

She sighed, facing him again. “You’re one of the few in the universe I can count on right now, Griff. I know you’re trying to do what’s best. I just don’t know what’s best now.”

“A fair assessment.” He glanced at her arm. She covered the spot, embarrassed, and he froze, his emotions reading faint pain.

By all the hells, couldn’t she do better than to hurt the only one willing to help her?

“Griff, it’s all right.” She crossed the room to embrace him. His heart raced in his thick chest. “Let’s look at worst case scenario, okay? If I degenerate into reptile form, I’ll have abilities, right? Teach me how to use them, here, where it’s safe. Then we’ll be ready to take on whatever enemies await us. Please?”

“I will do anything you ask, Kylie Sanderson. Now, and for all the future.”

Those were words similar to others she’d heard from boys over the years, girls too. Best Friends Forever. I’ll love you until the end of time. We’ll never be apart. Many different phrasings, never really thought through, just offered as temporary comfort.

But Griff? She’d risk her life that he truly meant every word. What a glorious being he was. And how lucky she was to have him standing by her. As she held him, his skin rippled. Startled, she pulled back.

“Do not be alarmed, Kylie,” he said from a human mouth. He had returned to his disguised state. “I wish for your comfort. I can maintain this form for now.”

Guilt dripping over her like chilled honey, Kylie turned away from his earnest gaze. She wanted to apologize, but she couldn’t find the right words.

He pulled her close, tilting her face up with one hand. “When humans wish to express their emotion for someone, they do it in this manner.” He kissed her.

At first, his kiss was tentative, his lips testing, pressing against hers lightly, then with more certainty.

“Like this?” he whispered.

“Just like this.” His mouth soft against hers, his taste was reminiscent of his musky scent, slightly spicy and alluring. She didn’t want to stop.

She pulled him closer, her nails digging into his shoulders. His arms came tight around her. They continued to kiss, clinging to each other like a life raft.

Hot blood rushed through her ears, her heart pounding. She wanted him more than she’d wanted anyone before, the feelings his touch generated driving her to mindless reaction.

Passion gripped her as strongly as he did, and made her shudder, her hips snapping sharp against him. “Yes,” she whispered. “Yes, I want you.”

He kissed her again then slowly released her. “Teach me, Kylie Sanderson. Show me how to make love like a man.”

Wow!  Is there a special message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
That love can happen between two beings of any kind, and even if it’s not what’s traditionally expected between a human man and woman, that makes it no less beautiful and special.

I think that's one of the aspects of your story that intrigue me the most.  So, how long did you write before you were published?
That’s an interesting question. I’ve been writing since about the third grade, when I sat at my living room window and watched my cat kill and eat a rabbit, writing it all down in gory detail. I took my essay into school the next day and my teacher read it to the class. (Probably if that happened these days, the teacher would have called Child Protective Services and had me put somewhere I didn’t have to watch things like that!)
Then I wrote my first novel at 14, a horrid Gothic time-travel romance about a governess in a dark house and the handsome young heir—all the rage at the time, but not so well-done. Not published. Then the novel about the young teacher caught up in international espionage at the state teacher’s conference. Also not published. The one about the young woman who was the oldest daughter in the home of a single dad, and had too many responsibilities taking care of her siblings to have her own life, so she volunteers at a crisis line and gets burnt out? The same.
(For the whole story, see my seven-part interview at Novelspot)
The bottom line is that forty years after that first novel, in 2009, I finally found a publisher who really liked my work, and Dragonfly published my Clan Elves fantasy series.  From there, I’ve contracted nine novels as Lyndi Alexander, in fantasy, science fiction and YA, and another six as Alana Lorens, writing romance and romantic suspense.

Wow, again.  Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and YA all require different voices and skills.  So, tell us a little about your current projects and what's currently in the works,

Later this month is the release of the first book in my YA sci-fi post-apocalyptic series WINDMILLS from Zumaya Publications: After terrorists launch a plague in the United States that spreads to kill most of the world’s Caucasian population,  Tzu Lin Kwan’s father, a renowned medical doctor and biologist, defects from China to help develop a cure. His only daughter, Lin Kwan, is left behind in Hong Kong with her aunt. Kwan’s father summons her to bring him Chinese medicinal herbs, and she travels with her sensei Li Zhong to the New World. But a Chinese spy is on her trail, determined to kill her and Zhong. When Kwan discovers her father has disappeared, she sets out on a journey to find him and deliver her precious cargo, a quest that she may not survive.

I’m also working on final edits on a suspense story set in New Mexico, ENCOUNTER, about what happens when a group of lawyers on a retreat for the purpose of team-building  and a group of illegal aliens trying to cross the border are caught in a freak snowstorm and trapped under the same roof. That will be a release from Hydra Publications later in 2013.
Then I have about half a dozen other stories I can’t wait to get to work on. Too much to do, too little time!

A lot of genres and identities to juggle.  I have enough trouble with just one.  Given that, could you name one entity (person, place or thing) you feel supported or inspired your writing goals outside of your family members?
I am profoundly grateful for the support I’ve received from the Pennwriters critique groups I participate in on a regular basis. I’ve shared work with some of these other writers for almost ten years, and they have helped my writing grow exponentially through many, many revisions. And they never took my wild sci-fi ideas at any less than face value. Thank you, northwest Pennsylvania folks!

Do you have a favorite author, and if so, tell us and what strikes you most about their work?
Probably the one writer who truly influenced my interest in writing science fiction was fantasy-sci fi writer Anne McCaffrey. She always constructed the most compelling characters, made them so human and dragged my heart right along with theirs as they survived their trials and tragedies.

Anne McCaffrey was an excellent world-builder.  I love dragons, and I guess lizards have a lot in common with them, which is why your concept fascinates me so much.  Since you write so many different types of books, do you have any advice for other writers?
Just keep writing. Persistence is the real key to getting what you want. Sometimes it takes forty years. But looking back on it now, it’s certainly worth it for me. J

Lastly, and just for fun, if you could have any super power, what would it be?
I’d love to be able to fly.

Yeah, dragons could fly, too.  Thank you so much for joining us, Lyndi.  I've enjoyed our chat and I wish you great success with "A Small Degree of Hope."  Now tell us where we can buy the book, okay?

Horny Hump Day - June 5 - A Dom's Dilemma #HornyHDay #BDSM #MFRW

Wanting and receiving can be two entirely different things.

My post for this Wednesday is from my 4th book, A Dom's Dilemma, an erotic BDSM/spanking novel published by Blushing Books.  Kelly and Jim, the two main characters, were secondary characters in Arrested by Love.  Though this story stands on its own, if you read Arrested by Love, you'll most likely recognize some of the scenes, since we see a little bit of Kyle and Tiffany in this book, too.

For this selection on Horny Hump Day, I'm continuing the scene in A Dom's Dilemma where Jim is making love to Kelly for the first time.  Though a little nervous, Kelly has been wanting Jim for a few days, and is eager to have him.  However, when Jim unzips his jeans, Kelly begins to grow uncertain.  Jim instantly recognizes the wariness in her expression, and even teases her a bit while he carefully gauges the changes in her expression.

When her frown deepened and her teeth worried her lower lip, he withdrew a bit, having only gotten about two inches in.  She tried grabbing at him, but he shook his head.
"Hands under your bottom now, or I'll tie 'em up."

Kelly hates to be restrained, which Jim discovered very early in their relationship.  However, even though he is into control, not pain, and wants Kelly to find pleasure in sex, he will carry out his threat.  The Dom in him refuses to let her take the lead.  Things happen in his way, and on his terms.  End of story.

M/F, Kinky happenings in rural Connecticut.

A Dom's Dilemma is available for sale at Blushing Books.  If you'd like to read more, I'm providing a 3 chapter preview on my web site's Spanking Romance page.  So, keep watching.

Now available on Amazon both for the Kindle and in Paperback!

I hope you enjoyed this sneak preview. Your comments are encouraged. Please stop by the  Horny Hump Day blog site  to get a peek at some of the other author's fine offerings

Sneak Peek Sunday - June 2 - Arrested by Love #SPeekSunday #Spanking #MFRWAuthor

He caught her speeding in a school zone and decided she needed to learn even civil disobedience could have very painful consequences.

Welcome to the first Sneak Peek Sunday of June.  For Sneak Peek Sunday we share six paragraphs from a published work or a WIP (work in progress).

My submission for this week is from my 3rd book, Arrested by Love.  A handsome, but strict, police officer  decides a spoiled socialite needs a special lesson in obeying the law.

In this excerpt from Chapter One, Tiffany Morgan deliberately breaks the law in order to get Kyle Sinclair's attention.  This isn't the first time she's gone out of her way to bait the police officer, so she is familiar with the routine.  Unfortunately, she's just admitted she knew she was speeding, which he considers to be a rash, reckless and punishable offense.  Tiffany's definitely gained Kyle's attention, but perhaps not quite in the way she hoped.
.

"Yes, sir," she answered, looking up at him and giving him her best ingenuous smile.
Pocketing his pad along with her license and registration, he took a single step back.  "Step out of the car, please, Miss Morgan," he snapped, his tone revealing a barely suppressed anger.
Closing her eyes, Tiffany swallowed for courage, then stepped out into the crisp January air as he'd commanded.
"Turn and place your hands on the roof of your car, please," he insisted, his hand on his gun.
Though she did as he ordered without comment, she thought he was really carrying things a bit too far this time.  What was he going to do?  Shoot her for speeding in a school zone?  Frisk her for hidden weapons?  She gulped as his strong hands did exactly that.  She arched her back, unable to suppress a small groan at the impersonal, yet strangely erotic, pat down he gave her.
"Spread your legs, please," he commanded next, placing his knee between her thighs to ensure her compliance.

Tiffany wishes she didn't have to resort to childish tactics just to get Kyle's attention, but he seemed determined not to ask her out no matter how many hints she gave him.  Kyle, however, is determined the young beauty learns once and for all that breaking the law carries serious penalties.

Saturday Spankings - June 1 - Acting Lessons #SatSpanks #Spanking #MFRWAuthor

Peter loved Kate with all his being, but that didn't mean he'd tolerate an ultimatum from her.

Reading this material at Work could get you spanked.

Welcome to the Saturday Spankings blog hop.  My stories are all M/f with the dominant male determined to protect the woman he cares for and loves, or grows to love, by doing whatever it takes to ensure her safety and continued health.  This includes administering a spanking when she needs one.

My submission for this week is from my contracted spanking romance titled, Acting Lessons.  I put WIP in the header, since the work isn't published, and I don't have a release date for it, yet, but it's under contract to be published before the end of the year.

Setup: early in the first chapter, Peter Thorton is attempting to convince his wife, Kate, to give their marriage a second chance by signing her to appear with him in a College Summer Stock production of "Kiss Me Kate."  Kate isn't sure she can trust Peter with her heart again, since she believes he's been unfaithful to her, but she's never stopped loving him.  And though Domestic Discipline originally played a part in their marriage, their last two years together had them living like polite strangers sharing the same house.  Peter realizes he made a mistake in letting Kate do as she pleased, so he's determined to rectify matters immediately.  In fact, he's just reminded her what he will do if she continues to act the shrew off stage.  Unrepentant and angry, she threatens to sick the cops on him if he even attempts to spank her.

"I sincerely doubt you'll call the police, but whether you will or won't makes little difference, since your threats can't stop me from doing what I believe needs to be done."
            "Go to hell."
Though Kate spoke the words softly, Peter's eyebrows snapped together as if she'd shouted them.  With a subtle shift in his position, he leaned forward and scowled.  A reminder.  Peter had a rule against swearing.
Kate's mouth grew dry with uncertainty as an apology hovered on the tip of her tongue.  Then, with a silent curse at herself for playing into his hand, she surged to her feet and glared at her agent.  "I won't--"
She didn't get one word further before Peter grabbed her arm and pulled her face down over his knees.

It's lesson time, boys and girls.  Rule one: do not challenge the man who wields his hand like a paddle, unless you wish to feel its bite.
I'll continue to post excerpts from Acting Lessonsso when I get a publication date you guys will be one of the first to know.
