Guest Post - 10/22/22 - "Circles Interlocked" by Daryl Devore #SecondChance #Contemporary #Romance

Not everyone gets a second chance. Can Julie and Robert get past their past and have a future?

Excerpt:

"You... you... slept with—"

"Have you ever stopped to think why I did what I did?"

"You mean why you slept—"

"Nothing happened. I wouldn't do that to you. It was a set up. Melissa played her part, went home, and then I got shit-faced drunk."

Turning away from him, she snarled, "Very convincing set up. I catch two naked people rolling around in the sheets. Clothes flung everywhere."

Robert pleaded to a hostile back. "Nothing happened. I swear. Nothing happened!"

"Oh sure, that's easy to say now."

"Melissa and I got some beer and pizza."

"Chinese." She snapped around to face him. "The table was covered in take-out Chinese and three beer bottles. One upright and two lying down. Which is what you do to an empty beer."

"Ok, it was Chinese take-out. We ate supper. Threw some extra clothes around."

Her gaze locked on his. "Your shirt was on the floor. Her blouse was on the couch."

"When we heard you drive up, we raced to the bedroom, threw our shirts next to the bed and climbed under the sheets. She started moaning like a porn star as you walked in the room. I pretended to pop up from under the sheet and say something. Which I've no doubt you're about to tell me, as you seem to have this moment burned into your brain."

Not bothering to even attempt to hide the sarcasm in her voice, Julie said, "You said, Sorry babe. This is gonna have to be quick. She'll be here soon. And I said, She's already here."

"I remember that."

"And then I stormed out of the room."

"And I followed." Robert closed his eyes and rubbed his face. When he opened them, Julie was still glaring at him. "Think about it. How could I've gotten in front of you in less than a second with my jeans on? If I'd been screwing Melissa, would my jeans've been on?"

"Answer me this," she snapped. "What the hell were you thinking when you were standing there staring at me? What was it that went through your mind? I've never been able to figure out your expression."

"I swore I wouldn't crack. I'd stay tough. But the look on your face nearly shattered my heart. I was standing next to you before I realized I'd gotten out of the bed. Part of me was happy. I'd pissed you off. You'd go dance. And a part of me was... was, I don't know what it was. I saw you were heart-broken and angry, and whatever else was running through you, and that hurt. Hurt's not the right word. It almost killed me to see you like that."

Julie lunged forward. Robert jumped back. With each word, she moved closer. "You pushed me away. You made me leave so I'd go dance. You tricked me into hating you." She froze.

Guest Post - 7/22/2022 "Two Hearts One Love" by Daryl Devore #EroticRomance #Suspense/Thriller

When a drag queen club manager's crazy world collides with a rock star's chaotic life, is there a chance their relationship can survive?

Excerpt:

She climbed onto the bed, straddled him and settled her hips on his. The vision before him was electrifying, her cute short hair, those fabulous grey-blue eyes, and that body that gave him an instant hard-on.

“What’re you grinning at?” She opened the bottle of massage oil.

“The view. I love the view. Of you.” She bounced as he chuckled. “I could write that into a song.” He sang, “I’m so in love with you. The view of you. Your gorgeous breasts. Breasts. Breasts. I’m stuck on your breasts.”

“You silly.” She slapped his belly. “I should hop off and go sleep in another room.”

He snapped his mouth closed, shook his head, crossed his heart and held up his hand.

“Somehow, I doubt you were ever a Boy Scout. Let’s see. Punishment for a bad boy.” She glanced around the room. “Ah.” Jumping off the bed, Erika dashed to the closet, pulled a belt off one of the bathrobes and returned.

Darien held out his wrists. “Oh, yeah. Bad boy needs punishing.”

She loosely bound his wrists, tying the other end to the bedpost. “Now, where was I?” She settled back down on his hips, grabbed the bottle of oil, then popped the lid.

Erika grinned as she waved the container. “Betcha thought I was going to rub this on you to ease out some of the aches in your muscles. Well, you’d be wrong. I’m gonna make every muscle in your body tense and scream for me.”

She tilted the bottle, pouring the oil between her breasts. It dribbled down her belly and puddled in her belly button. Using her middle finger, she stroked her oiled flesh from the top of her chest to where the material covered what he desired. She wiped her finger dry, stroking it across his nipples. They responded to her touch.

He sniffed. Cinnamon buns. The warm fragrance from the bakery where he grew up tickled his nose.

Picking up the bottle, Erika poured more liquid into her left hand, pressing it against her right breast. With her palm, she circled her hand around, spreading the oil. She stroked under her breast, up and around, drawing a spiral pattern closer and closer to her nipple, then flicked her finger across the tight peak.

Darien’s eyes stung, reminding him to blink. “You look so hot doing that.”

“Guess I’ll just have to repeat everything on the other side.” She poured the scented massage oil into her right hand and echoed what she’d done — rubbing, stroking, and flicking.

The oil’s fragrance wafted on the air.

She wiggled her hips. The motion made Darien grunt and flex every muscle. The heat of his sexual tension caused a bead of sweat to form on his brow, even though he was stretched out naked on the bed.

After oiling her hands, Erika slid them under the lace and rubbed her nipples. She closed her eyes while rocking her hips.

Darien struggled against the restraining belt. The loose knot tightened. He froze. He wanted to touch her. To lick the oil off her breasts. Being restrained was torture. He loved it.

Guest Post - 11/21/21 - From Despair to Ecstasy by Daryl Devore #hotcontemporary, #romance, #rockstar

Guilt consumes rock star, Darien Scott, when he fails to save Erika Bailey's beloved drag queen club. Can her love pull him back from the edge?

Excerpt:

“This feels so good.” Her voice made shivers race along his spine.

“Uh, it feels much better when I do it. Just, you know, volunteering to help.”

“Nice try, big boy.” She reached back, stroked him along the length of his swollen shaft and giggled. “And I do mean big boy.”

“Ah, you say the sweetest things. Now untie me.”

Her eyes sparkled as she shook her head. She picked up the bottle and poured oil over his chest. It was cool but rapidly warmed against his hot flesh. Her fingers were firm as she kneaded the slickness into his skin. With broad strokes, she dragged her fingers down his chest, pausing to tap his nipples, then continued until her hands met by her mound. She scratched the back of her fingernails back up the same path, adding a quick tweak on his nipples. Up and down, her hands aroused his body to a fever pitch.

Sweat rolled down his chest. His cock pulsed. He rocked his hips. He wanted to… he needed to… the fire inside him craved to bury himself deep inside of her. Her heat would be the catalyst to the explosion building in him.

Rocking the bed, she shifted so her back faced him. He loved her back. Especially, the small of her back. Nirvana was to get lost in time while placing tiny kisses in the hollow just above her hips. Something about that curve lit a desire in him which drove him to do things to elicit moans from Erika. Her hips would twitch. She’d writhe against the bed while her fingers dug into the sheets. He loved driving her to that point of almost bliss.

She raised to her knees, twisted around to face him but lost her balance. She grabbed his leg for support. “Ooh, a bit awkward this.”

He chuckled and waved his tied hands. “Volunteering to help. Just untie me.”

She climbed off the bed. Darien bit back a groan of frustration. Although only a foot or two away from her, it was a chasm.

“What I really like about this outfit…” She ran her fingers up her body, outlining the teddy. “It’s easy on.” She reached up, pulled two ties and shimmied. The outfit dropped to the floor. “And easy off.”

The undulation of her breasts when she moved raised the pressure in his throbbing cock. He ran his fingers over his head. “Woman!”

“Oh, is my Darien all hot and bothered?” Her tone was baby-doll as she rubbed one finger along the tip of his cock.

Feral instinct surged. His cock twitched. He thrust his hips upward. His breathing shifted to shallow pants. “Untie me.” It wasn’t a request.

He needed her now. To pound into her. To drive them both to that bliss. “Un. Tie. Me.” His voice hoarse with anger-tinged frustration as he fought against the belt.

She leaned over him. “Stay still.”

Her breast hung near his mouth. He craned his neck up and wrapped his lips around her nipple, but she was too slick with massage oil. He slipped off and his head dropped back onto the pillow. “Arghh!”

The belt restraint loosened. His restraint gave way.

Her father's destruction of her club and the humiliation of her mother’s drunken behavior have her feeling down, but those are the least of her worries. She has a wedding to plan, but won’t. Having been betrayed too often, she’s scared to trust Darien.

How can Erika prove to herself and Darien that she loves and trusts him? Simple. All she has to do is jump out of a plane.

Guest Post - 10/23/2021 "What Darien Desires by Daryl Devore #hotcontemporary, #romance, #rockstar

When drag queen club manager's world collides with a rock star's chaotic world, is there a chance the relationship can survive?

Excerpt:

She sat up tall in her chair and leaned forward, scanning his bloodshot eyes. "Tell me there's nothing between you and Savannah. Tell me you didn't want to go home with her."

He didn't respond.

Tears welled. "Damn you, Darien. I trusted you."

"Nothing happened between us. But telling you I didn't want to go with her would be a lie, and I refuse to lie to you."

She blinked. "What?"

"I was drunk. She's hot. I was missing you and… things just got out of control. I'm not always controlled by my brain. Sometimes other parts make the call." He shrugged. "Especially when I'm drunk."

"You're gonna use your drinking as an excuse?"

"Not an excuse. An explanation."

"That doesn't make any sense."

Darien ran his fingers through his hair. "I really, really miss you. It hurts more than… it hurts right down to my soul. I guess I started drinking to fill the hole in my heart."

"I miss you, too." Her voice was small.

"Savannah was just there. I didn't call her. She appeared at the club. Someone probably posted an Instagram about me being there. It wasn't her I wanted to be with. It was you. She was just a – a substitute."

Erika stared at her keyboard and tapped a fingernail on her desk.

"Say something. Anything. Please. Hell, tell me to fuck off."

She looked at the screen. The remorse he was feeling was evident in his eyes, his words, and his tone. He hadn't meant to let things get out of control. It started off as a fun night out with his friends. Cut loose. Let some steam off. She chuckled.

He raised an eyebrow. "Okay, you laughing kinda seriously creeps me out. What's so funny?"

"The last time you cut loose, there was a hit on the Black Dragon."

He snorted. "Crap, you're right. I guess I should start spending my Saturday nights at the local library."

Erika crossed her arms. "I think that would be a smart decision."

"So are we good? Or as good as we can be?"

"Yes, all is forgiven. This time. I guess I do have to understand that there are two of you and I have to share you with the world. This is new ground for both of us."

Blurb:

You loved What Happened in Bangkok and want to know what happens next….

It's complicated is not only her relationship status, but the definition of Erika Bailey's life. She loves managing her drag queen club in Bangkok, Thailand, but her rock star boyfriend resides in North Carolina. And to top it off, her father threatens she must stay away from Darien or lose the Pink Flamingo. Does she protect her club or her love?

Darien Scott, Grammy award winning international superstar, wants nothing more than to wake up in the arms of Erika, the woman he loves, but contractual obligations force him to exotic video shoots and an isolated movie set with one of Hollywood's sexiest stars.

With the feeding frenzy of social media trending every aspect of Darien's life—real or not—it's hard for Erika to know the truth. Will she be able to see through the lies and trust Darien? Or will evidence from damaging Internet rumours condemn their relationship?
