Guest Post - 7/22/2022 "Two Hearts One Love" by Daryl Devore #EroticRomance #Suspense/Thriller

When a drag queen club manager's crazy world collides with a rock star's chaotic life, is there a chance their relationship can survive?

Excerpt:

She climbed onto the bed, straddled him and settled her hips on his. The vision before him was electrifying, her cute short hair, those fabulous grey-blue eyes, and that body that gave him an instant hard-on.

“What’re you grinning at?” She opened the bottle of massage oil.

“The view. I love the view. Of you.” She bounced as he chuckled. “I could write that into a song.” He sang, “I’m so in love with you. The view of you. Your gorgeous breasts. Breasts. Breasts. I’m stuck on your breasts.”

“You silly.” She slapped his belly. “I should hop off and go sleep in another room.”

He snapped his mouth closed, shook his head, crossed his heart and held up his hand.

“Somehow, I doubt you were ever a Boy Scout. Let’s see. Punishment for a bad boy.” She glanced around the room. “Ah.” Jumping off the bed, Erika dashed to the closet, pulled a belt off one of the bathrobes and returned.

Darien held out his wrists. “Oh, yeah. Bad boy needs punishing.”

She loosely bound his wrists, tying the other end to the bedpost. “Now, where was I?” She settled back down on his hips, grabbed the bottle of oil, then popped the lid.

Erika grinned as she waved the container. “Betcha thought I was going to rub this on you to ease out some of the aches in your muscles. Well, you’d be wrong. I’m gonna make every muscle in your body tense and scream for me.”

She tilted the bottle, pouring the oil between her breasts. It dribbled down her belly and puddled in her belly button. Using her middle finger, she stroked her oiled flesh from the top of her chest to where the material covered what he desired. She wiped her finger dry, stroking it across his nipples. They responded to her touch.

He sniffed. Cinnamon buns. The warm fragrance from the bakery where he grew up tickled his nose.

Picking up the bottle, Erika poured more liquid into her left hand, pressing it against her right breast. With her palm, she circled her hand around, spreading the oil. She stroked under her breast, up and around, drawing a spiral pattern closer and closer to her nipple, then flicked her finger across the tight peak.

Darien’s eyes stung, reminding him to blink. “You look so hot doing that.”

“Guess I’ll just have to repeat everything on the other side.” She poured the scented massage oil into her right hand and echoed what she’d done — rubbing, stroking, and flicking.

The oil’s fragrance wafted on the air.

She wiggled her hips. The motion made Darien grunt and flex every muscle. The heat of his sexual tension caused a bead of sweat to form on his brow, even though he was stretched out naked on the bed.

After oiling her hands, Erika slid them under the lace and rubbed her nipples. She closed her eyes while rocking her hips.

Darien struggled against the restraining belt. The loose knot tightened. He froze. He wanted to touch her. To lick the oil off her breasts. Being restrained was torture. He loved it.

Guest Post - 8/15/21 - "What Happened in Bangkok" by Daryl Devore #Erotic #Thriller

When everyone around you is getting slaughtered, it's best to get your butt out of there as soon as is humanly possible.

Excerpt:

Droplets of blood seeped from Darien's wolf tattoo, mesmerizing him. They trickled over the inside of his bicep, splattering against the bar floor.

Darien ran his hand back through his hair and frowned. Why was the wolf bleeding? It was supposed to look sexy. Turn chicks on. Not bleed. He blinked as a thought formed. Maybe it wasn't the tattoo. Could he be bleeding? He didn't remember getting hurt. But that might be because he'd had too many vodka shots.

Expensive gold-infused vodka.

An order snapped out in Thai ripped his focus away from the cost of the booze.

Stumbling with the translation, his gut clenched - Check everyone. Anybody alive. Kill them.

A shrill female scream. A gunshot. Silence.

That'd be one of the hookers. Damn. Hope it wasn't the one with the butterfly tattoo above her clit. She had a mouth on her that performed miracles. Dude! What the fuck! Must be the vodka talking. Stay focused. There are guys with guns out there.

Darien stretched his neck out and peered around the edge of the bar. In his line of vision, a male leg stuck out from under a table. Expensive looking shoe. Presumably Italian leather. Probably belonged to Nai Jâhng.

Darien raised his eyebrows. Wow. Somebody had the balls to kill a Triad boss.

He shifted his glance. A few feet to the left lay a female arm with brilliant orange fingernails. He shivered at the memory of those nails grazing his balls. He focused on a tiny object a foot in front of him. Shards of glass were scattered about. He frowned, trying to remember what happened. He'd walked behind the private club's bar to get another bottle of vodka when, one by one, bottles started exploding. Next thing he knew, he was on the floor, looking at the blood dripping from his tattoo. He glanced at his arm. The bleeding had stopped.

Okay, so he wasn't gonna bleed to death. Good. Now he just had to get his dumbass outta there. Past them. The guys with the guns. How the fuck could he do that?

Voices interrupted his thoughts. The tones were panicked or angry, and the words too fast for him to translate, although he understood the meaning of the three rapid gunshots, followed by a short groan. The door at the opposite end of the bar, leading to the kitchen, swooshed as someone pushed it open.

Gunfire and screams sounded from the kitchen. The door swung open again. Darien translated the shooter's words, "Nobody alive in there. I'll check the offices upstairs."

Darien slid back, trying not to disturb the glass. He did his best not to yelp when a sharp edge sliced through the skin on his knee. With deliberate movements, he backtracked the length of the Black Dragon's bar. Squatting, he peeked around the end.

Three men stood with their backs to him, dressed in black pants and muscle shirts. Each one held an assault rifle. A bleeding sun tattoo visible on one attacker's shoulder. Daeng Arthit Triad. Not good. So not good.

He looked forward. The kitchen door was six feet away. Six feet of wide-open, easily visible space. It might as well be six inches or a mile. He couldn't risk it. Wouldn't. He didn't want to get shot.

He shifted his weight off the knee, pressing on a piece of shattered bottle. What the fuck, dude? You're gonna die if they find you. Better to be running for your life than just lay here and let 'em kill you. That was the logical side of his head's opinion.

The chicken shit side said, Stay here. Stay down. You're safe.

A yell and several more gunshots drifted down from the floor above. The men pounded up the stairs.

Without taking a moment to think, Darien bolted through the kitchen doors, then skidded to a stop. The rancid smell of burning food and fresh blood hit him deep in the pit of his stomach. Four bodies lay facing him, eyes wide, obviously unseeing. One of the dead chefs held a massive meat cleaver clenched in his right hand.

Never bring a knife to a gunfight. He shook his head. Quoting movies at a time like this? Focus, dude.

Heart pounding, Darien cast his gaze about the room, looking for an escape, while his ears listened for the sound of running footsteps coming up behind. He fought the nausea of rising fear as he moved forward, searching for an exit while trying to keep his gaze from the corpses.

Please let this be some shitty nightmare, and I'm gonna wake up now. Fuck!

In the back-right corner, he spotted a door. With renewed hope, he raced to freedom. He bolted through the doorway, skidded in the pool of blood, lost his balance and crashed onto the dead hooker. He tried not to be judgmental, but in the brief glance he’d had, a girl on her knees in front of a man with no pants on was obviously on the clock. Or cock, as the case might be.

He braced his hands on the blood-soaked floor and pushed himself to his knees. The back of her head was missing, and her dead John had no face. Just a bloody, pulpy mess. He laid sprawled back on the desk. Big enough guy to be one of the ones who was supposed to be guarding the front entrance. Well, he went out with a bang.

About the Author:

Inspiration for a book can comes from unusual places and at crazy times. What inspired What Happened in Bangkok? A song on the radio.  Hubby and I were in the car on the way to visit with our daughter. Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive was playing and I turned around, grabbed my laptop, and wrote the first 3 chapters of a book that I had no idea I was going to write which turned into a trilogy.

If you are scratching your head thinking this sounds familiar – this is a re-release. I received my rights back from my publisher and decided these stories needed to be back out there.

Guest Post - 12/28/17 - KAI by Valerie Ullmer #Paranormal #Thriller #Vampires

KAI was a killer with a conscience. He didn't particularly like humans, but he needed them to live. So, he chose his victims--carefully.

Vampire Assassin Kai has found his mate, his human mate.

Excerpt:

That night, he had been trailing Ms. Na soon after the sky darkened, and he watched as she slipped past security of a biotech company.  For long minutes, he had thought he lost her.  When she emerged with a box under her arm, she glanced around to see whether she had been spotted, and happened to glance in his direction and froze.  He knew that she couldn’t have spotted him, and yet she acted as though she did.
Within seconds, she had darted toward what he assumed was another exit, and his eyes widened when she jumped up to the corner of the building, and pushed off.  He soon realized what she was doing.  Ricocheting back and forth between the wall and the corner of the building, it took her three leaps before she launched herself successfully up and over the wall.
Without hesitation, he launched himself over the barrier with ease.  When he landed, he felt the unmistakable press of a knife against his neck.  His eyes glanced down at the tactical curved weapon, and almost started when she pressed her lithe body against his back instead of pressing the knife harder against his skin.
“Hello, gorgeous,” she purred.
He didn’t respond in kind, but considering all he could feel was her body, he knew that she ditched the package somewhere close, or had given it to someone.  He doubted that she worked with anyone, so it had to be close.  He didn’t really care about what it contained because the box wasn’t his assignment—she was—but he needed confirmation that what she had stolen was dangerous.
Her hand opened on his chest and caressed his pecs before it moved lower.  Her hand grazed over his cock, taking her time to explore, before she slid her hands underneath his tight black shirt.  Her touch caused no reaction.
“You don’t talk much, but you don’t need to in order to fuck.”
He heard the knife stick into the ground, and before he could react, she opened her fingers and pressed harder against his taut skin.  He used her inattention to kick the knife away and scanned the area for the package.  He spotted it easily.
Without answering, he turned around and pressed her against the wall, using his body to keep her off the ground, and buried his face against her neck.  As he pressed his hard body against hers, she spoke in Chinese, a language he didn’t understand.  He didn’t bother asking her what she said.
“What did you steal?”  He distracted her by using his tongue, sliding against her collarbone, up her neck, until he had the lobe between his teeth.  Biting down, he could smell her desire for him intensify.  Although he hadn’t fucked a human in a long while, he found his lack of interest in the beautiful spy to be slightly irritating, yet expected.
“Biological agent,” she gasped.
His hand slid to her ass and pressed her harder against him, using her pleasure to keep her distracted from his next move.  He almost regretted that he wouldn’t be able to sink his cock into her tightness, somehow knowing that she would have kept up with his sexual demands.  But instead of feeling desire, he felt nothing.
He scraped his teeth against her skin, a warning as to what was to come, a split second before his fangs pierced her throat.
His targets always fought, a survival instinct that the humans had, yet rarely used.  She was no different.  Her fists pounded against his chest, and he barely felt it.  Her blood, although he expected a sweetness to it, had a horrid metallic taste that he hated.  Her heartbeat fluttered in her chest, and her arms gave out before her body sagged against his.  With one final beat of her heart, any sounds from her ceased, and he released her.
Although her blood gave him strength, the taste of those he killed had worsened over the years, and he could barely stand to drain them dry.  In this case, he used her desire to his advantage.  The taste would dissipate soon, he hoped.

Blurb:

There are two words that described Kai.

Remote and Deadly.

And until six months ago, he was fine with that description. But when the vampire assassin spots a curvaceous woman, a human no less, who would come to fill his thoughts, he would gladly shake his persona for a moment in time with her. Instead, he kept his distance, watching out for her and learning more about her every time their paths crossed. But he had yet to speak to her. When a turn of events thrusts her into his solitary life, he must decide whether to complete his assignment, or protect her.

Olivia Sabin had dedicated her life to her work; finding a cure for cancer. She had hidden behind the mask of a scientist who cares little about anything beyond her laboratory, and for a long while she believed it herself. But when a mysterious man came to frequent the diner she visited nightly, her awareness of him devastated her concentration, and she came to look forward to the glimpses of him, however brief.

When she stumbles upon a horrific experiment at work, she knows he’s the only one she can turn to. She’s willing to sacrifice everything in order to protect him and others of his kind from the same fate. But first, she needs to find a way to get him to hear her explanation.

Guest Post - 6/23/17 - What Happens in Bangkok by Daryl Devore #Erotic #Thriller

Daryl Devore has dropped by to share an excerpt from Book One of her "Two Hearts, One Love" series "What Happens in Bangkok" But before we start, I asked her a couple of questions and I'd like to share her answers here:

Tell me a bit about yourself and what inspired you to become a writer?

I live on the Ontario side of the Ontario/Quebec border. When I'm not writing, I'm a yoga class. As to what inspired me - I learned to print and was able then to put my stories on paper.

What is your greatest temptation:

In men: Matt Damon – hands down – no question.
In food: chocolate – no wait- cookies – oooh chocolate cookies
In clothes: jeans – I'm a pretty casual person although I love checking out $900 Prada heels.

Now, on to Bangkok...

To save Darien's life his brother asks, "Can you walk in high heels?"
Excerpt:

Erika dipped a chip into the salsa and popped it into her mouth. "I can't decide. Mexi-taco or Cali-taco."
"Huh?"
"Number twenty and twenty one."
"Simple." He placed his menu on the table and picked up a chip. "Get one of each, but make sure there's room for dessert. 'Cause I want a Churro. Or maybe the Sweet Chimichanga."
"Or both." She popped a salsa-covered chip into her mouth.
"Awesome." Darien dipped a chip and bit into it, trying not to look like he couldn't tear his gaze from her. The elegance of her moves as her fingers unfolded and reached for a chip. The curve of her wrist as she scooped some salsa. The jolt in his body when she opened her mouth and licked her lips. Watching the chip disappear past her teeth was too much for his control. His cock sprang to life. He'd never be able to look at chips and salsa the same way again.
The waitress placed the tray of monkey wings on the table. Erika squealed as they both reached for one. The happiness spread from her face to her body. Her nipples were visible, pressing against her dress. The pressure in his slacks increased. Her lips parted. He stifled a groan. She slid the piece of meat into her mouth and lightly bit into it. Her teeth grazed against the chicken meat, pulling it from the bone. A dribble of sauce escaped. She flicked her tongue across her bottom lip, closed her eyes and heaved a delighted sigh. Sweat ran down Darien's back. Yes, the wings were spicy. But the vision across from him was twenty jalapenos hotter. She picked up another wing. Darien trembled, grabbed his drink and chugged half of it. It did nothing to cool his soaring temperature, or reduce the swelling in his pants.
The visual of her lips wrapped around the chicken wing morphed into her lips around his fully aroused cock. As she pulled the next wing from her mouth, he swallowed–hard. He wiped his brow. "This is hot."
"Not too hot for you?" She placed her index finger in her mouth and slid it out, licking off the sauce.
"Not really, but I just might have to take a cold shower." He grabbed another wing. She reached for one. Darien shuddered. He never knew eating Mexican could be so erotic.

About the Author:

What Happens in Bangkok is book 1 of the Two Hearts One Love Trilogy – book 2 was released on June 23.

5 Star Review –
I loved this story. From the very beginning I was on the edge of my seat until I finished it several hours later. I couldn't put the book down. I needed to know what was going to happen to Darien and Erika next. Fast paced from the first word and with several surprises I'd highly recommend this book.
5 Stars
This book got me hooked from the opening line with Darien puzzling as to why blood was seeping from his wolf tattoo. The chemistry between Darien and Erika sizzles from the first time they meet, even though she’s no idea who he is, nor the fact that he’s actually straight.

What I loved about this book was that it isn’t just about Darien and Erika. A whole cast of characters are vividly brought to life and though I didn’t like them all, particularly Gan I seriously wanted to gag whenever he appeared, they added another dimension to the story.

The action is fast paced, there are enough twists and turns in the plot to keep you guessing and the romance was hot. A great read, especially if you love stories in exotic locations.

5 Stars

What happens in Bangkok is the first book i have read from this author and I highly recommend it. I couldn't put it down was captured from the first to the last page. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat with all the twist and turns it gives you. Will so be looking for more from this author
** I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book **
