  In this scene, near the beginning of the book, Kyle, a traffic patrol officer, has pulled over a young woman for speeding in a school zone.  Tiffany has been in love with Kyle since she was ten, so this isn't the first time she's faced the strict police officer because of some prank she's pulled.  It's not even the first time she's been caught speeding, which means she's spent a fair amount of time over his knees.  Even so, Kyle is prepared to let her go with a warning and a ticket until she propositions him.  Angry, partly because he's tempted to accept her bribe, Kyle decides to offer her a choice.  She can either spend a night in jail, or place herself over his lap and receive a harsh spanking for her reckless driving.  Tiffany knows Kyle isn't kidding, and she's scared, but disappointing her father upsets her even more, so she agrees to the spanking.

            Arching a questioning eyebrow at her he asked, "You're sure?"

            She nodded her head.  "Could you at least unfasten the cuffs first."

            He considered it for a moment.  Having her cuffed would ensure she kept her hands out of the way, but she'd struggle against them to get free, which could hurt her wrists badly.  He gave a little circling motion with his finger, and she obediently turned her back to him.  When he unlocked and removed the cuffs from her, she promptly covered her face with her hands.

            Getting back into the car, he brought the door to a near close again and drew her back against his chest.

Kyle doesn't like seeing Tiffany so distraught, but he has to remain firm or he'll lose all credibility with her.

He was a strict and demanding college professor turned professional director who excelled at giving acting lessons.  She was his shy and uncertain former student who became a professional actress under his tutelage.  They fell in love, married, and won two Tony Awards before tragedy struck and a simple kiss ripped them apart.

After a six month separation, Peter Thorton decides to take matters into his own hands by making his famous wife, Kate, an offer she wouldn't refuse.  Plainly put, he wants her back and he intends to do whatever is necessary to achieve his goal, even if it means giving his stubborn, willful leading lady a daily reminder over his knee that she promised to obey him.

In this scene, which occurs in chapter six, Peter Thorton has just finished giving his wife, Kate, a relatively mild spanking for defying his instructions, and is preparing to make love to her for the first time in over two years.  Peter adores Kate, but he's not above teasing her a little to get her to verbalize what she wants and needs from him as he gentle nibbles her into a mass of writhing desire.  Though Kate understands fully what Peter wants her to do, she also finds it difficult to state her needs directly.  However, in this game Peter makes the rules, and he wants his lady to sing.

             "Yes, say the words, Kate.  Tell me exactly what I must do to ease your distress."

            Certain her face blushed a fiery red, she did as he asked.  Her need too intense not to.

Sneak Peek Sunday - October 13 - Deadly Enchantment #SPeekSunday #Paranormal #Shifters

An unhappy shape shifter can be a dangerous companion....

My excerpt for this week is from my 2nd book, Deadly Enchantment.  A shapeshifting wizard romance set in Victorian England published by New Concepts Publishing, 

In this snippet, which occurs near the end of the first Chapter, Dominic Westcroft has returned from London to discover his sister has invited several young women to his home, so he can select a new bride.  Except, Dominic has no intention of ever marrying again.  However, when he suspects one of their guests possesses magical abilities she doesn't want them to know about, he decides to have them join him for dinner so he can rout out the culprit.  Once the ladies are all seated, their napkins and silverware begin to act up.

            The table linens promptly ceased misbehaving when the servants filed back into the room carrying the first course.  A soup.  The master of Ravenswood directed the servants to place an empty bowl before each guest, set the tureen on the table, then leave.  Serena had a sinking feeling she knew why he gave that order and prayed she was mistaken.

            “It’s mock turtle soup, ladies.  I hope you enjoy it,” the Wizard of the West murmured in his rich baritone voice.

            The tureen, designed to look like a deeply set oyster shell, rose up on its large turtle-like, stubby china legs and “walked” about the table, serving out a ladle of soup to each of them.  A few of the women drew back in alarm while Caitlyn, Katherine and Georgina appeared to be charmingly amused by the china’s antics.  Serena could see Allison struggling to master her own fear, so she wasn’t the least bit amused by their host’s game-playing.  However, if he continued grandstanding in this manner, it might not be as difficult to expose him as she’d originally thought.  He was certainly making no effort to disguise his magical talents, so all she had to do was keep silent and wait.

            When everyone had been served, Serena observed the way Allison, Susan and Melissa stared at their bowls with grave suspicion.  Not wanting to draw attention to herself by being the first, Serena waited to see who would be brave enough to take the first sip.  Katherine took the lead again by picking up her spoon and taking a delicate taste of the steamy, thick broth.  With a delighted smile directed specifically at their host, she proclaimed the soup quite delicious. When the bowl didn’t spit the thick liquid back into Katherine’s face, Serena, taking her cue from the others, picked up her spoon and followed suit.

            As they ate, the master of Ravenswood turned to the woman who sat at his right.  Grateful Westcroft’s attention was focused on someone other than she or Allison, Serena was relieved that Allison sat at least a few places down from their host, although she would rather have had her cousin sit where she did, all the way at the end of the table, instead of directly on her right.

            Being first in their alphabetical lineup, Susan Baker had the misfortune of sitting on Westcroft’s left.  Susan was shaking so badly that Serena was surprised the silver spoon wasn’t clattering against her teeth.  Yet Westcroft appeared to practically ignore Susan for the tasty morsel on his right, who regarded him with undisguised interest.

Dominic Westcroft is determined to flush out their deceptive guest and expose her for the deceitful liar he takes her to be.

When Claire Daniels discovers Germaine St. Justine is a vampire, she sets a plan in motion to convince him to cure her brother of AIDS.  Though an innocent in sexual relations, Claire is savvy enough to realize the best way to secure Germaine's support is to enter into an intimate relationship with him.  However, having a vampire take you to bed isn't quite the same as sleeping with the boy next door.  There are complications. And Germaine is dominant enough to add a few more Claire hadn't expected.

In this segment, Claire has sought Germaine out at his private night club for the first time, only to discover his club offers much more than drinks for those with and without fangs.  The day room at Illusions is equipped to administer punishments as well.  While Claire is trying to reconcile with Germaine, one of his vampires enters the club with his mate in tow and demands permission to publicly chastise her.  What no one expects, however, is for Germaine not only to agree, but call for a supporting vote from his council. When the group unanimously agrees to the punishment, Claire doesn't think, she reacts by picking up a stool and striking the punishing vampire, who, unaffected by the attack, grabs her by the arms and demands she be punished for interfering with his council-sanctioned punishment.

             Germaine's brow wrinkled slightly as he considered Phillip's request. “Your charge is not without warrant. Her attack was in open defiance to my directive, perhaps....”

            “Germaine!” Claire squeaked in outrage. “You can't seriously suggest you'd let this man whip me?”

            Germaine seemed to consider the notion for a moment before he resolutely stepped forward. “Of course not,” he reassured, reclaiming her from Phillip's hold. “I would never let another man lay a hurting hand upon you.”

            Relieved, Claire let out a tiny sigh and unthinkingly relaxed against him.

            His hand tightened slightly on her waist. “I'll simply have to administer this punishment myself.”

            “Germaine!” Claire protested, falling silent when every man present, except Phillip, rose in her defense.

Claire has spunk, but throwing items at vampires who are conducting a ritualistic punishment, is not wise under any circumstances.  However, it would appear she has made a few friends among this long-toothed set.

My post for this Wednesday is from my 4th book, A Dom's Dilemma, an erotic BDSM/spanking novel published by Blushing Books.  Kelly and Jim, the two main characters, were secondary characters in Arrested by Love.  Though this story stands on its own, if you read Arrested by Love, you'll most likely recognize some of the scenes, since we see a little bit of Kyle and Tiffany in this book, too.

For this selection on Horny Hump Day, I'm continuing the scene in A Dom's Dilemma where Jim is making love to Kelly for the first time.  Though a little nervous, Kelly has been wanting Jim for a few days, and is eager to have him.  However, when Jim unzips his jeans, Kelly begins to grow uncertain.  Jim instantly recognizes the wariness in her expression, and even teases her a bit while he carefully gauges the changes in her expression. While he works with her to ease her uncertainty, he comes to a few conclusions of his own and makes a decision..

 Bending forward, he eased his hands under her shoulders and drew her closer to him.  "You're my girl, Kelly Franklin.  You know that?"

Jim is into control, not pain, and he wants Kelly to find pleasure in sex, but the Dom in him refuses to let her take the lead.  Things happen his way, and on his terms.  End of story.  All the same, sometimes a sub needs to know she belongs to her Dom..

My submission for this week is from my 1st book, Mortal Illusions. A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a series of 3 books.  Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently under production.

In this excerpt, which is the beginning of the first chapter, Germaine St. Justine has sensed his former lover's pain and visits her in the hospital in an effort to ease her suffering.  After some gentle teasing combined with a soothing back rub, he gently bites her neck and draws out a few seconds worth of blood, then uses a hypodermic needle to withdraw blood from his arm.  Curious, Marguerite asks him what would happen if someone were to inject his blood directly into one of their veins.

            “That would depend upon who that someone was,” he answered, setting a glass of room-temperature orange juice near the needle.

            “Say, me, for example.  How would I feel afterwards?”

            “Are we talking about before or after I put you over my knee?”

            She wrinkled her nose at him even as her frail fingers encircled the syringe.   “Is this enough to do it?” she asked, her eyes alight with so much hope it pained him to meet her gaze, knowing that he would be the one to extinguish her hopes of tomorrow--forever.

            “No, Marguerite.  Even if it were, an existence such as mine could never be what I would willingly choose for you.”

            With a resigned sigh, Marguerite Danielson returned the hypodermic to his outstretched hand.  "Have you come to watch me die then, André?" she demanded in a tone that insisted there be no illusions between them--only honesty.

A vampire's blood has many healing properties, and though Germaine can't cure Marguerite, he is able to smooth the pathway she must take for her final journey.

In this scene, Jim, a former Texan who by day works as a police detective and by night lives and plays as a Dom, is in the Velvet Chains BDSM medical station attempting to give his new submissive, Kelly Franklin, an anal exam. When Kelly goes ballistic, Jim suspects fear, rather than brattiness, is responsible for her reaction.  After giving her repeated opportunities to use her safeword, Jim is left with little choice.  She is being disrespectful, defiant and acting like a brat, all of which screams punishment to a Dom.  So, after giving her approximately thirty swats, with twenty for swearing, he attempts to calm his sobbing sub.

            "Shhh.  Easy, there.  Calm down now.  I'm not angry, just disappointed.  I don't like the thought of punishin' you, Kelly, but you were bein' a very stubborn and unreasonable little girl."

            "I'm sorry!" she sobbed out again, her face pressed against his shoulder.

            Gently rubbing her back in an effort to soothe her, he bent his head low and spoke directly into her ear.  "Now, you need to stop this and get a hold of yourself girl, or I'll have to give you another spankin' to make all these tears you're spillin' worthwhile.  You're carryin' on way too long for the punishment you received.  So, what's wrong?"

            The only response Kelly gave Jim was a small hiccup, but her sobs were lessening.

Though Jim can be strict, he likes a bit of spunk in a sub.  And even though Kelly crossed a line that obliged him to punish her, her sobs are way out of proportion for the spanking he'd administered, which means something else is wrong.
