In this scene, Jim, a former Texan who works as a police detective by day and lives and plays as a Dom by night, is mastering Kelly Franklin in the Velvet Chains BDSM club.  This is their first night together, and though Kelly is still a bit apprehensive of her new Dom, she's also far more attracted to him than she ever expected to be. Jim is interested in doing more with Kelly, but he is also protective. So, he remains stern with her as he establishes their limits.

  

            …"If you're good, I may lay you down and give you one more itty bitty orgasm before we leave here, but that's gonna be it."

In Chapter Four, Kyle Sinclair, a traffic patrol officer, has just proposed to the girl he's secretly loved, but avoided for years. He knows Tiffany Morgan has been infatuated with him since she was a little girl, but she came from a much higher social strata than his public school/middle class upbringing associated with. However, what the heart wants isn't always in line with what society deems appropriate.

Having finally overcome his doubts, Kyle gets down on one knee and presents Tiffany with a ring only to have her dissolve into tears before him. Confused, he starts to question her only to discover she'd lied for the past month about staying within the budget he'd set for her. Relieved her dismay wasn't the result of a more serious issue, but angry she'd thought lying to him was a more acceptable course than admitting failure, he gives her a choice. She can either accompany him quietly without fuss or whining, or they can stop seeing each other for a year.

Tiffany can't believe he'd stop seeing her simply because she'd overspent her budget, but Kyle promptly informs her he's not punishing her for overspending, but for lying and refusing to accept the consequences of her deceit. So, after driving to a secluded spot, he escorts her over to a fallen log where he orders her to remove her skirt and underwear and take her position.

            Laying herself gingerly over his lap, she gave one small sob once she was settled. He placed his left hand on the middle of her back to steady her, then ran his right hand repeatedly over her buttocks to settle her to his touch. She was tense, and he needed her to relax a little more so this punishment wouldn't end up being more painful than he intended. "We didn't discuss how many swats you think you deserve for what you did, Miss Morgan. So, what would you say is a fair number?"

            Her breath coming in small hitches now, she didn't respond right away. He suspected she would go for the minimum of ten. So, she surprised him when she said, "Twenty-five."

            "A very good number," he praised, "and I concur. So, twenty-five it is then. Have you anything you wish to say to me before we begin?"

            Another small sob, then she said, "I'm truly sorry for lying to you, Kyle. I won't do it again. I promise."

            "Yes. Well that is what I am here now to ensure. Correct?" he asked, aware that his voice was huskier than usual, He really didn't like the thought of hurting her, and it bothered him that she had forced his hand like this. Literally.

            "Yes, sir," she replied meekly, a sure sign she was feeling very guilty about her actions. She only called him "sir" when she knew she was in serious trouble.

            "Good." He continued to just rub her smooth flesh until he felt her relax despite her unease. "This time I want you to count each stroke out loud. Do you think you can do that?"

            "I don't know," she admitted with tearful honesty.

            "Very well, I can accept that. However, I want you to at least try. As a penalty, if I decide you're simply stalling between calling out the numbers in order to delay your punishment, I may find it necessary for us to start over again from the beginning."

            She gave a small gasp, and tensed at that, but he pretended not to notice as he continued his gentle rubbing. When he still didn't begin, he heard her ask, "Kyle?"

            "Yes?"

            "Do you still love me?"

            "If I didn't we wouldn't be here now. Do you understand what I mean by that?"

            "Yes, sir."

            "Good. Now I want you to take a deep breath and try to relax a little more. You're doing very well, and I'm proud of you for accepting this with so little fuss. I know it's not easy. Now take another deep breath for me, Tiff." She obeyed. "Good. Now, relax and give me all your weight. I can hold you, so don't worry about being too heavy for me." She took another deep breath and he felt her body grow limp." "Very good." Then he raised his hand and brought it down hard. 

 

Kyle doesn't like hurting Tiffany, though he knows he has to take her in hand if he's to make any progress in curbing her impulsive behavior. As his wife, she won't have the financial freedom to spend money in the way she's used to doing. He doesn't expect her to be perfect, and fully accepts she will overspend from time to time, but he needs her to understand that it's much better for her to own up to her mistakes than try to hide them beneath lies.
