#MFRWHooks - 9/27/17 - Past Interference - Elly opens up about her abusive ex-husband #CorbinsBend #DD

It's Book Hooks Wednesday!  Yay!  And I'm sharing an excerpt from my spanking novella in the Corbin's Bend series, Past Interferencethe sequel to A Simple Misunderstanding. Past Interference was originally part of the Corbin's Bend Valentine's Day collection "Love in the Rockies," but is now being sold separately.

What she needed was the opposite of what she wanted.

In this scene, which occurs near the beginning of Chapter Two, Eleanor Benson (Elly) is six days away from getting married again, and her doubts are eating her alive.  After suffering through a bout of stress-related migraines, she's finally gotten up enough courage to tell her husband-to-be that she's not sure she wants to get married again.  Jerry knows Elly is nervous, but believed he'd managed to convince her he is nothing at all like her first husband, Arthur, who abused her.  Unfortunately, he's beginning to realize Elly's fear of her past may ruin their future together, so he suggests they sit down and discuss why she's having second thoughts, and why he wants to marry her. Elly insists she's not afraid of Jerry, but when he realizes she hadn't been afraid of her first husband when they got married, either, he seeks to understand what happened between them.

“You know how I felt about Arthur,” she answered with a sigh. “He was handsome, commanding, intelligent and domineering. I was young, silly and in love with the thought of a man like him taking command and protecting me. I just didn’t understand what that meant until after…”
“After he deflowered you and began to assert his authority?”
Closing her eyes against the unpleasant memory, she gave a nod. “Yes. Though, he was respectful toward me in the beginning. A little patronizing, perhaps, but he didn’t try to diminish me. He would correct me if I said or did something wrong, but he wouldn’t call me stupid or thoughtless. He liked teaching me things, but he also preferred to be the one in control.”
“That’s not unusual. Many Heads of Households prefer to set the rules. So when did he give you your first spanking?”
Elly squirmed as she recalled the embarrassing day in question. She didn’t care for the direction this conversation was taking, but understood why Jerry was asking, so she did her best to be honest. “A few days after we were settled in our new home. I burned our dinner and set off the smoke detector, bringing the fire department to our door.”
“Hmm. Let me guess. He punished you for being inattentive to the point you put yourself and your home in danger in a way that humiliated him?”
Elly gaped in surprise. “How did you know?”
“I finally figured out how your husband thinks.”

Elly wants Jerry to insist her fears are foolish, but he's not about to do that.  He loves her, and he takes her concerns seriously.  So, he's determined they discuss her worries and address them before things get out of hand. However, her first marriage was so disastrous, she's terrified to try again.

Blurb:

Valentine's Day in Corbin's Bend.  As Elly Benson readies herself for her second wedding, the doubts and misgivings of any new bride-to-be are exacerbated by the abuse she suffered during her first marriage.

Though she's lived with Jerry Douglas for four months now, and been subject to his discipline more than once, Elly's first husband had been kind and careful with her, too, until the day she vowed to love, honor and obey him.  The lessons she's learned from the past make her doubt she can ever find happiness in the future.

#WIPitUP - 9/27/17 - A Simple Misunderstanding - Elly's thoughts wander in dangerous directions #CorbinsBend #DD

WIP: Work in progress.  WIP it up Wednesday is a hop where writers share portions of the project they're working on with readers.  I really like the idea because it allows me to share something that's still in the creative stage as well as work behind the scenes as a prompt to keep me writing.

However, today, I've decided to take a break from my WIP in order to share an excerpt from my first book in the Corbin's Bend series, A Simple Misunderstanding, where I tackle the problem of recognizing and addressing spousal abuse in a liberal spanking community. The community's residents right to privacy is paramount, and sometimes rough play can produce bruises that appear similar to abuse. So, as long as both partners deny any problems exist, the community can't take action. To do so would jeopardize the very foundation of what they've struggled so hard to build.

He came to her rescue when she needed him most, almost to lose her when she disobeyed him.

In this scene, which occurs in Chapter 3, Gerald Douglas (Jerry, who is the Corbin's Bend veterinarian) suspects Eleanor Benson (Elly) is being abused. So, he's asked her mentor, Kelli Stevens, to check on her. Both submissives and dominants are assigned mentors in Corbin's Bend to help them with any issues or questions they might have about the domestic discipline dynamic. Though Elly likes Kelli, she blames herself for any problems she and Arthur may be experiencing, so she's not been entirely honest with her mentor. Kelli suspects this and asks if Elly would prefer to have a younger mentor. Elly is surprised by the question, so Kelli points to the bruises on Elly's wrists. Bruises left by the handcuffs Arthur had put on her the night before. Elly promptly covers the marks, insisting they were her fault for struggling so hard. Kelli isn't sure she believes Kelly, but other than calling Elly a liar she has no choice but to accept the younger woman's word.

Kelli rose and Elly quickly followed her mentor to the door. “Thank you for stopping by, Kelli.”
“We’re here for you, dear. Don’t ever forget that. If you need help, or have any questions, call me. Any time. Day or night. All right?”
Elly gave another nod. “You’re very kind. Thank you again.”
With a smile, Kelli left and Elly sank against her closed front door. They meant well. All of them. But they didn’t understand. And they weren’t helping.

* * * *

Once Elly had finished her vacuuming and dusting, she showered and changed into a dress, since Arthur didn’t approve of her wearing jeans or slacks. He was old-fashioned that way, but Elly didn’t mind. She liked putting on dresses and heels. Sitting on the edge of the bed to draw up her stockings, she wondered whether Dr. Douglas objected to women wearing pants. She found herself thinking of the vet often and knew she shouldn’t, which was one of the reasons she’d been avoiding taking Muffin back to the park. Their fenced in backyard sufficed to give the tiny poodle exercise, and even though Muffin enjoyed playing with Jack, Jerry's black lab, Elly didn’t want to risk Arthur’s displeasure by spending too much time with their handsome vet. Then again, Arthur couldn’t care less who Elly visited with at the dog park as long as her visits didn’t take any of her time or attention away from him.

Though a part of her knows she wasn't being entirely truthful with Kelli, Elly blames herself for her husband's firm discipline. She's convinced if she just tries a little harder things will be better between them.

M/F Domestic Discipline in Colorado.

Blurb:

Though Arthur and Eleanor Benson have been practicing domestic discipline for three months since their wedding, he insists moving to Corbin's Bend, where domestic discipline is the norm rather than the exception, will revitalize their marriage. Elly has doubts, but since Arthur is the undisputed head of their household, they move. However, once Arthur becomes immersed in a community where spanking is not only permitted, but encouraged, his personality undergoes a dramatic change. Accusing his submissive wife of being lazy, disorganized and disobedient, he employs creative methods of pain and humiliation to mold Elly from the imperfect woman he married into the perfect woman he desires. And Elly finds herself a virtual prisoner in her own home, accountable only to the man who rules her life with a cane.

In his years as a vet, Jerry Douglas has seen what abuse does to animals, and he recognizes those same signs in Elly Benson during her daily escape to the dog park with her tiny poodle. Jerry steadfastly supports the tenets of domestic discipline and enjoys the freedom Corbin's Bend offers its residents, but he remains fiercely protective of anyone in need of a champion. And when he witnesses evidence of harsh handling, his instinct is to rush in and rescue. Problem is Elly Benson is a married and consenting adult who insists all her bruises and welts are nothing more than a simple misunderstanding between her and her husband, until the day Arthur Benson takes his authority and discipline one-step too far, endangering Elly's life.

Muffin. How can you say "no" to this face?

Guest Post - 9/26/17 - Laura's Longing by Jessica Brand #BDSM #PowerExchange #EroticRomance

Today Jessica Brand is visiting to share information on her latest novel "Laura's Longing." Jessica writes extremely explicit stories that I assumed were out of her imagination, but I asked "When you write, do you ever model any characters after actual people?" and she answered, "My inspiration comes from my own fantasies and experiences then I weave them into a story that, hopefully people can relate to. I want people to read my stories and be able to imagine themselves in the thick of the action – either as the dominant character or as the submissive. Some but not all of my characters are modeled on real people I’ve met and played with." So, she definitely knows whereof she writes.

Excerpt:

As he caressed her butt, she tested her range of movement and found it was very limited. Her feet were not secured and were free to move, but with his strong hand holding her arms imprisoned against her back, she had little other movement available to her. Just as she was getting her thoughts together coherently, the spanking started again.
This time it was a little harder than before and he struck her in a different spot each time, gradually working his hands all over her ample butt cheeks. He watched as the skin beyond her panty line was turning a delightful shade of pink and when he paused again he could feel the warmth emanating from her skin. Drawing her panties up into the crease of her buttocks, he then continued with his hand.
By this time Laura was beginning to squirm against his thighs as the intensity got to her. Each swat reverberated through her whole pelvic region. In a reflex action, her feet were beginning to move with each swat. As much as she tried to prevent it, she found she couldn't and she didn't realize that in the process of responding to his spanks, she had slowly opened her legs. This time when he paused to caress her, his fingers drifted between her legs. With her panties pulled tightly over her sex, she felt his fingers brush ever so lightly along her labia. She knew she was literally dripping wet in her arousal but she didn't care.

Blurb:

A story of love and exploration. Laura is the quintessential all American small town girl, the vivacious cheerleader who is saving herself for the love of her life. Unfortunately the love of her life is the bad boy in town. Young love being what it is, she finally decides he’s the one to make her a woman and she develops a plan for her fairytale outcome. Unfortunately her fairytale turns into a horror story when she finds her beau, in flagrante delicto with another girl bent over the kitchen table.

In her anger and her grief she seeks solace from her closest girlfriend and after purging some of her pent up lust in the arms of her friend she decides the town is not big enough for all of them and moves to the city to make a new life. Accepting an offer of accommodation in Denver from a mysterious woman a few years older than herself, Laura soon discovers activities taking place in her host’s basement studio that defy Laura’s comprehension. Initially shocked at what she witnesses, her shock turns to arousal as she watches erotic games involving activities she had no idea were possible.

Determined to explore further, she convinces her host introduce her to this strange world of bondage and discipline where the lines between pain and pleasure are blurred, where being spanked could be erotic or agonizing, depending on one’s perspective. Her first experience convinces her she needs more and after unexpectedly meeting a new love, sets about introducing him to the BDSM netherworld. Ensuring he learns from experience, Laura is finally satisfied as their love is consummated in the erotic confines of her housemate’s dungeon.

Laura's Longing is not for the faint hearted as it takes the reader into the highly erotic world of consensual BDSM.

#SatSpanks - 9/23/17 - Arrested by Love - Kyle makes his point #SpankingRomance #Discipline

He caught her speeding in a school zone and decided she needed to learn even civil disobedience could have very painful consequences.

Reading this material at Work could get you spanked.

Welcome to the Saturday Spankings blog hop.  My stories are all M/f with the dominant male determined to protect the woman he cares for and loves, or grows to love, by doing whatever it takes to ensure her safety and continued health.  This includes administering a spanking when necessary.

My submission for this week is from my first spanking novel, Arrested by Love, published by Blushing Books.

In Chapter Four, Kyle Sinclair, a traffic patrol officer, has just proposed to the girl he's secretly loved, but avoided for years. He knows Tiffany Morgan has been infatuated with him since she was a little girl, but she came from a much higher social strata than his public school/middle class upbringing associated with. However, what the heart wants isn't always in line with what society deems appropriate.

Having finally overcome his doubts, Kyle gets down on one knee and presents Tiffany with a ring only to have her dissolve into tears before him. Confused, he starts to question her only to discover she'd lied for the past month about staying within the budget he'd set for her. Relieved her dismay wasn't the result of a more serious issue, but angry she'd thought lying to him was a more acceptable course than admitting failure, he gives her a choice. She can either accompany him quietly without fuss or whining, or they can stop seeing each other for a year.

Tiffany can't believe he'd stop seeing her simply because she'd overspent her budget, but Kyle promptly informs her he's not punishing her for overspending, but for lying and refusing to accept the consequences of her deceit. So, after driving to a secluded spot, he orders her to choose and prepare an appropriate branch for him to use as a switch.

Whether or not he chose to use the branch she'd prepared was another matter. He had no wish to cause her injury, only to teach her a lesson. So, he still needed to decide on the best way to accomplish that. What would make the most indelible impression on that devious little butt of hers? What would make her truly regret what she did, and ensure she never did it again?
Grabbing the bottle of lotion he kept in the car, he shoved it deep inside his pocket. He knew she hated it, except it helped reduce the impact of his chosen punishment, so she would have to accept it. It also meant he could do nothing to break her skin. Not that he wanted to, but if he tried to rub that stuff on an open wound, she'd be screaming through next week. Opening his car door, he got out and walked over to where she stood.
"Remove your skirt and underwear now, please," he ordered taking a seat on the log.

Kyle doesn't like hurting Tiffany, though he knows he has to take her in hand if he's to make any progress in curbing her impulsive behavior. As his wife, she won't have the financial freedom to spend money in the way she's used to doing. He doesn't expect her to be perfect, and fully accepts she will overspend from time to time, but he needs her to understand that it's much better for her to own up to her mistakes than try to hide them beneath lies.

Book Hooks - 9/20/17 - Acting Lessons - Kate admits she has a "frover" #KissMeKate #DD

He'd taught her how to act in college, now he intended to teach her how to behave.

Welcome back to Book Hooks, a regular Wednesday feature! In this blog loop, we hope to provide you with some tantalizing tidbits in our books.

My submission for this week's Book Hooks is from my 5th novel,
Acting Lessons.

He was a strict and demanding college professor turned professional director who excelled at giving acting lessons.  She was his shy and uncertain former student who became a professional actress under his tutelage.  They fell in love, married, and won two Tony Awards before tragedy struck and a simple kiss ripped them apart.

After a six month separation, Peter Thorton decides to take matters into his own hands by making his famous wife, Kate, an offer she wouldn't refuse.  Plainly put, he wants her back and he intends to do whatever is necessary to achieve his goal, even if it means giving his stubborn, willful leading lady a daily reminder over his knee that she promised to obey him.

In this scene, which occurs near the start of chapter seven. Peter is taking Kate to see her doctor after she'd injudiciously injured her knee in a pique. She's seated on his lap in the back of his limousine, and they've just resolved an issue regarding the dissolution of their divorce after they had finished making love for the first time since their separation. And, now, Peter wants to know about the huge sparkling diamond she's wearing on her left hand. A diamond he didn't give her.

"What are you thinking?" Peter asked, breaking into her thoughts. When she started to shake her head, his hold on her hip tightened. "I never want you to fear being honest with me."
Meeting his concerned gaze, Kate wrapped her fingers around his, then gasped when Peter gripped and raised her left hand. "So, what's the deal with this rock on your finger?"
Kate gazed at the sparkling stone and gave a small wince. The ring was rather gaudy, but she hadn't wanted to offend Thomas by refusing his gift, and her finger had felt naked without her wedding band. "A present from Thomas for our one-month anniversary," she admitted, watching the light play against the handsomely-cut, but garish stone. Quartz most likely.
"Thomas?" he repeated with an arched brow. "Care to tell your husband who Thomas is?"
Drawing her hand from his, Kate twisted the ring. "Well, I said I hadn't made love with anyone else, but I didn't say I hadn't dated."
"All right. Tell me about him."
"Now?" she asked, not bothering to hide her surprise. Peter had never asked about her past boyfriends before, probably because she'd never had any. Not serious ones.
"Why not now? We have time to kill." He checked his watch. "At least twenty minutes. If all you did was date the guy, your story shouldn't take that long."
She winced. "Well, we did more than date. I just didn't have sex with him. We had a sort of everything, but … kind of deal going."
"I see. Did you love him? And you'll notice I used the past tense in that question."
Kate continued to twist her ring until Peter laid his hand over hers. "I liked him. He was a polite, considerate, and attentive partner, as well as attractive. I enjoyed dating him, but I can't say I ever loved him. We were 'frovers,' I guess, except more friends than lovers."
"Really?" At her nod, he slipped the 'gift' from her finger and held the stone up to the light. "This is an awfully expensive piece to give a lover, darling, let alone a 'frover.'"
Frowning, she plucked the ring back to examine it more closely. "No…. It can't possibly be real. That would be insane."
"Actually, although I hate to admit it, I think your boyfriend's anniversary present is real and rare. We can have the jewel appraised to be sure, but from its size, I suspect your 'frover' is toting around a huge hard-on for you. I gather he's loaded?"
Kate recalled Thomas's home and clothing and said, "I never gave it much thought, but yeah, I guess so. He's certainly well-off, if not Kennedy wealthy." She put the ring on again, choosing the right hand this time.
"Better, although I'd prefer you wore your wedding band. Did you get rid of it?"
"No! Of course not. I keep it in the jewelry box on my dresser. I'll pick it up when I pack for our trip."
He bent forward to nip her ear. "I'll consider that a promise." Leaning back, he stroked her hip as if he sought to remind her she still belonged to him. "So, did you and lover-boy have a standing arrangement of sorts? See each other every Friday and Saturday night and return to the real world on Sunday?"
She laughed. "No. Our dates weren't that steady or regular. He'd check his calendar and schedule a get-together for us about a week in advance."
"Ah, a true romantic, and a spontaneous 'frover,' too," Peter remarked, his tone bordering on snide. When Kate smacked his shoulder, he raised one eyebrow. "So, when was this passionate Lothario due to take you out next, may I ask?"
Kate thought back to their last conversation. "We had an arrangement to meet Thursday night."
"Tonight?" Peter asked, his expression reflecting an unusual interest, which caught Kate off guard until she realized what he'd said.
"Oh, shit. Yes, I was supposed to call him yesterday to confirm, then meet him later at the Rockefeller skating rink," she muttered, worrying the ring on her finger again. "I never called him. I totally forgot. I'll bet he's worried sick and furious with me."
Peter curved his fingers around the nape of Kate's neck in a soothing, yet possessive gesture. "Easy, sweetheart. I'm sure 'frovers' can't get furious. It's not in their job description."
"Funny man," Kate said making a face at him. "I didn't bring my cell with me. It probably needs charging anyway. Let me borrow yours, okay?"
"What? So, you can call your ex-boyfriend? I'm a lenient and understanding man, darling. But trust me, not that understanding."

Despite Peter's possessiveness, Kate doesn't feel guilty about dating Thomas. He was her staunch supporter when she was in sore need of someone. She'd made no promises to Thomas, though she knew he expected to marry her once her divorce was final. Problem is she'd never fallen out of love with Peter, and, now, due to her own shortsightedness,  she has an angry "frover" to deal with.
M/F, DD and a staged production of Kiss Me, Kate.

#WIPitUP - 9/20/17 - Learning to be Little - Kelly gets fed dessert #Ageplay #SpankingRomance

WIP: Work in progress.  WIP it up Wednesday is a hop where writers share portions of the project they're working on with readers.  I really like the idea because it allows me to share something that's still in the creative stage as well as work behind the scenes as a prompt to keep me writing.

The WIP I've chosen to share today is tentatively titled "Learning to be Little"  It is a story about Kelly Franklin's first immersion into BDSM with a Daddy Dom.

Because of some feedback I've received, I want to stress that this book begins in the present with Kelly seated on her Dom's, Jim Evans, lap directly after "A Dom's Dilemma," the book which introduces readers to Kelly and Jim's evolving relationship. In Dilemma, Jim asks Kelly how she became involved in BDSM, so she tells him about Graham White, the gentlemanly stranger who rescued her from the streets. After hearing a little about her past, Jim better understands the sort of relationship his girl needs and is prepared to be the stern protector she requires. Then Kelly receives a threat from a previous Dom that endangers her life. Jim, a police detective, shoots the transgressor and after reassuring a terrified Kelly that's she's safe, proposes marriage. Still reeling from a day that included an unexpected proposal on top of a murderous attack on her life, an exhausted Kelly takes a memory tour back to her past and the more carefree days she shared with Graham.

Learning to be Little is my first attempt at depicting the dynamics of age play, and because it occurs in Kelly's past with her first, but not last, Dom, it is also a little different from other age play stories available today. However, I hope readers who enjoy age play and D/s will find their journey into Kelly's past an entertaining, sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, adventure. Though the manuscript has been accepted by Blushing Books, until it's published, I consider it a WIP.

The mock cover I used for Camp NaNo
I'm continuing where I left off last time. As an only child born to two only children, a young and precocious Kelly Franklin seeks out her Daddy whenever something frightens her. Unfortunately, her Daddy isn't available to soothe her and two strange men were hurting her mother. Scared, Kelly remains as quiet as a mouse in her parent's closet until the police pull her out. Twelve years later, Kelly still suffers nightmares from that time and finds herself walking the streets. When she is approached by a "gentlemanly stranger", who invites her to dinner, Kelly accompanies her new "customer" into a fancy restaurant with well-founded suspicion and a bit of an attitude that could get her into trouble if she isn't careful. However, despite her uncertainty over the gentleman's intentions, Kelly does her best to do what he wants.

"Bring the young lady pudding, Andrew, but serve it to me, please."
"Yes, sir," Andrew replied and left without so much as a blink of surprise.
Considering his request a bit unusual, Kelly asked, "Do you come here often?"
"On occasion, yes. They know what I prefer."
"Apparently so."
"As you will, too, if we choose to continue our association." He paused when Andrew set a china bowl of chocolate pudding before him, along with a spoon. "Thank you." After the waiter left, Mr. White gazed pointedly at Kelly. "Scoot your chair around the table, child, so you're closer to me."
She gave him a slight scowl but obeyed. Once she was positioned the way he wanted, he dipped the silver utensil into the pudding and held it to her lips. The moment she opened her mouth, he fed her the first spoonful. The confection was rich and chocolaty, and if he preferred to feed it to her, she'd play along, though she suspected he possessed some sort of father complex.
"While you eat, I shall continue to ask more questions."
Given this was all on his nickel, Kelly agreed without an argument.
"Where do you live?"
That drew her up. Did she really want this man, who ordered her food, made her wear a napkin under her chin, cut up her meat, and insisted on feeding her dessert, to know where she slept? Frowning, she hesitated to answer him. She could lie, but, if she did and he caught her in the fib, she imagined he would grow quite angry. And she didn't want that, either.
"Are you afraid what I might do with that information?"
"A little," she confessed.
"I can assure you I only mean to discover how far we need to travel in order to collect any belongings you may wish to bring with you.
"I don't have much, but why would I need to collect any of my things?"
"All in good time, my dear. All in good time."

Graham White is definitely "auditioning" Kelly to see if she's a likely candidate for him to bring home.
