He caught her speeding in a school zone and decided she needed to learn even civil disobedience could have very painful consequences.

Welcome to the first Sneak Peek Sunday of June.  For Sneak Peek Sunday we share six paragraphs from a published work or a WIP (work in progress).

My submission for this week is from my 3rd book, Arrested by Love.  A handsome, but strict, police officer  decides a spoiled socialite needs a special lesson in obeying the law.

Tiffany Morgan has been in love with Kyle Sinclair since she was ten years old, when he'd turned her over his knee for attempting to swim in a raging white water river. Though she'd been furious with him at the time, Tiffany never told her family what Kyle did. Instead, she began trailing after him like an annoying younger sister as she tried to gain his attention.

Now, eleven years later, Kyle, a patrol officer, is finding it much more difficult to maintain his distance from the irresistible and vivacious redhead who continues to invent ingenious ways to attract his interest. Though he dismissed her initial attraction to him as infatuation, as she grew-up, his own feelings of desire and protectiveness deepened. So, despite his constant struggle to resist the spirited little minx's lures, Kyle finally has to admit that he is losing the battle--badly.

In this excerpt from Chapter One, Tiffany Morgan deliberately breaks the law in order to get Kyle Sinclair's attention.  This isn't the first time she's gone out of her way to bait the police officer, so she is familiar with the routine.  Unfortunately, she's just admitted she knew she was speeding, which he considers to be a rash, reckless and punishable offense.  Ordering her against the car, he frisks her more out of vexation with her, than true necessity.
.

Though tempted to lean back and ride the firm thigh pressing against her backside, Tiffany restrained herself.  His action hadn't really been necessary, since she had no intention of disobeying him, but now her panties were totally soaked through.  She was only wearing a jacket and a short, tight skirt, having left her coat in the car, so it wouldn't have taken much for him to check her there, too.  However, Kyle was conducting his search in a totally impersonal manner.  Damn him.
When he was done, he stepped back.  "You may turn around now," he advised, anger still simmering just beneath the surface of his words.
Tiffany knew he hated it when she drove over the speed limit.  He considered it reckless driving, which he refused to tolerate.  She watched as he pressed his glasses back up his nose and took out his pad again.
"I'm giving you a ticket and recommending you attend mandatory driver training, this time, Miss Morgan."  Though she couldn't see his eyes, Tiffany suspected they were simmering with spirals of fury about now.  "What you knowingly just did is stupid, reckless and totally unacceptable," he informed her, his tone clipped and cool.
She gazed up at him through lowered lashes.  That was her cue.  "Um, officer?"
She saw one eyebrow arch above his glasses as he answered, "Yes?"

Tiffany wishes she didn't have to resort to childish tactics just to get Kyle's attention, but he seemed determined not to ask her out no matter how many hints she gave him.  Kyle, however, is determined the young beauty learns once and for all that breaking the law carries serious penalties.
