Guest Post - 9/18/17 - All They Ever Needed - Thianna Durston - Blog Tour #Gay #MM #DD

Today, we're participating in Thianna Durston's re-release blog tour for her wonderful gay men Domestic Discipline romance series "All They Ever Needed." I'll let Thianna take it away...

Hello! And welcome to the Release Tour for the rewritten and rereleased All They Ever Needed trilogy. If you haven’t read Logan & Christian’s tale, this is a perfect opportunity to do so. The series is available as separate novels and as a boxed set. They should be read in order.

Kathryn likes to ask questions of her guest posters. There are some great questions.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book? *Laughs* Kind of did. I got the rights back to All They Ever Needed in Spring 2017. All three novels have been rewritten and tweaked. I got rid of the stuff that bothered me while keeping the charm of the original novels.

What genres do you write besides M/M Domestic Discipline Romance? Oh, I write all over the board. From M/M to M/F, romance to sci-fi, metaphysics to BDSM, paranormal to contemporary. I also write Inspirational Romance every once in a while. It all depends on the pseudonym. Under Thianna Durston, I write M/M Romance with a hint of spice (okay, so sometimes there’s more than a hint *wink*). There are 2 domestic discipline series, BDSM, contemporary, paranormal, action/suspense, vampire cowboys, and even a holiday book or two. I write like I read – just about everything under the sun :D

Are you a plotter or a pantser? I used to be a pantser – All They Ever Needed was written purely from sitting down and writing, without knowing where I was going. However, I’ve changed the way I write. Now, it’s a wonderful blend of inspiration and basic outlining. Once I can outline a book, I don’t hit writer’s block. Plus, I can create more complex storylines with multiple subplots. I love it.

What is the most you have written in one day? Ready for this? 22,000 words. I was writing one of the challenge months and on one day, I reached just over 22k. That month I topped 300k. Usually my days are more like 5000 words.

What are your current projects? *looks at projects and blanches – soooo many.* I’m working at finishing my Drakyl Ranch & The Shift series, redoing Pillar in the Snow as a full-length novel with new characters and a different backdrop, a new adult Sci-Fi trilogy of which the 1st book is written and the other two are outlined and plotted, a mainstream military meets contemporary fantasy series of which the 1st book is written, the second is plotted, and the other two novels have the basics down, and I’m working on my art because I have a young adult series which I want to bring out in graphic novel format – so I’m perfecting the characters.

Who designed your cover? I did. I created two completely different designs and had the fans of my works vote on them. So I might have designed them, but they chose them. I’m happy with the result :)

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? They aren’t ‘new’ but I love their work so much that I grasp any new book they have out.

Jordan L. Hawk writes m/m paranormal, mostly historical, romance. (though she’s got a kick-ass contemporary paranormal too.) Her writing is simply SUPERB. I don’t read horror as a rule, but her Whyborne & Griffin series was so good, I chose to leave the light on overnight when I bought the first three books because I haaaaad to finish it. I could go on and on about her Hexworld series. Seriously good writing.

Heidi Cullinan writes m/m contemporary romance for the most part.

Madeleine Ribbon is a relatively ‘new to me’ author. She writes a m/m contemporary fantasy romance series called Faire Folk. It’s about a faire that’s run by magic that goes between our world and somewhere else. I’m calmly (or trying to be) waiting for the next in the series.

Where do you write? I live in a basement apartment. It’s one large space. So my bedroom sits on one side and my ‘office’ on the other. I have a long desk with my computer supplies and my bookshelves behind me. It’s a wonderful spot.

When do you write, morning or night? Whenever the mood strikes. I’m not one of those people who writes better at one time of the day. I’ve written early morning, afternoon, evening, and in a few instances at 2am when I woke up with a character chattering in my head and wanted to get it all down before I went back to sleep.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?  Sure can! Beware, this is NSFW ;)

Excerpt:
“Sorry,” he grunted as he realized what he was doing. He moved to climb off, but Logan stopped him.
“It’s okay,” Logan panted. “Did it not feel good?”
“It felt great,” Christian admitted, kissing him and moaning when Logan’s hips lifted a little. “I want more, Logan, I don’t know how, or what, to do. You’re a man. It’s different.”
Smiling, Logan leaned forward and pecked him on the lips. “Same erogenous zones, Christian. You stroke some slightly different.” Pausing, he seemed to assess the situation. “Since this is new, you feel more comfortable in the dominant position?”
Unsure, Christian sat back. “I don’t know about that. I mean, with Kelli I was always the one who wanted more. With you?” He grinned sheepishly. “It’s amazing to be with someone who actively wants more.”
“Well,” Logan returned, “since this is all new for you, let’s take it nice and slow. We don’t have to go skin to skin yet. Instead, let me show you how good a dry hump can feel.”
Christian raised an eyebrow. “I know how a dry hump feels.”
“Against another cock?”
Heat rushed into his face. “Uhh, guess not.”
Looking as though he was fighting a grin, Logan nodded to the spot next to him. “Game? Lie back and let’s come in our pants.”
“Romantic you’re not.” Christian snorted, his body shaking with laughter.
“Oh, you want romance?” Logan’s eyes twinkled. “Sorry, shall I put on some sappy music, buy you roses, and say platitudes in your ear about how your stubby blond hair appears like tinsel sort of and how—”
“Shut up.” Christian laughed, once again reminded how easy it was to be with Logan. He had never felt that comfortable with someone. “You’re an ass.”
“Well, I do have one,” Logan agreed, reaching around behind Christian and patting his behind. “And so do you. A nice tight one it is too.” He squeezed.
A moan escaped Christian’s lips as once again thoughts of Logan spanking him filled his head.
“You like that, Christian?” Logan’s voice took on a deeper timber, which made Christian’s heart beat faster. “Do you like having your ass touched and fondled?” He massaged both cheeks, which made Christian pant. He wanted to say no, to change the subject, but found it difficult as it felt so damned good. “Mmm, you are a good boy, aren’t you?” Suddenly Logan’s lips were at his ear. “What else do you like?” He tapped his ass lightly. “Tell me and I can make you feel good.”
Whimpering, Christian trembled. He wanted to say it, expose his fantasy, but was hanging on the edge, too unsure. “Do you like to be spanked, Christian?” Once the question was whispered into his ear, he could no longer hold it in.
“I want to be spanked.” Freezing, as his admission was loud in the space, his eyes flashed open and he looked into Logan’s eyes. He half expected to see either amusement or disgust in them. Instead, he saw desire, want, and need. His cock grew harder.
“Have you ever been spanked?” Logan asked quietly, firmly, in such a way he couldn’t not answer.
“No. But I’ve fantasized about it my entire life. When you smacked my ass yesterday?” Christian gulped. “Damn, but I thought I would come right then.”
A slow smile lit up Logan’s face. “I would be honored to hand you your first spanking. I bet I could make it good.”
Heat rushed through Christian’s veins. Logan offered to give him the one thing he had always wanted. Should he take it? Shaking aside the naysayers in his head, he nodded. “Please, Logan. I’ve always wanted to know how it felt.”
 “Bare-handed or belt?”
His jaw dropped.
“I don’t have anything else with me.”
Realizing that Logan knew more than he expected, he cleared his throat. “What’s the difference?”
“The sting in the snap. Plus some people have an affinity for leather or skin to skin contact.”
Trembling, he whispered, “Bare-handed.” That had been his earliest fantasy, to have a bare palm smack his ass.
“All right. With or without your pants?” While he talked, Logan continued to massage his ass cheeks and Christian barely was able to hold himself still.
“Umm…” Skin to skin was what he wanted, but taking off his pants? Was that a good idea?
“It’s up to you. You’ll still feel it over your jeans, and if you aren’t sure, it might be an easier entrance into spanking.”
Deciding he would ask Logan about that comment later, he stepped back off the sofa, making Logan’s arms drop to his side. Taking a deep breath, he unbuttoned his jeans and pushed them down, knowing his hard-on showed through his briefs.
“All right, over my lap,” Logan said, scooting toward the front of the sofa.
Grinning at the full fantasy unfolding before him, Christian bent over his lap, chuckling as Logan pushed him further so that his ass stuck up in the air. “I knew you were a kinky Santa.”
Logan tapped a few times on his ass cheeks and chuckled. “This is about as kinky as it gets for me, but I do enjoy spanking.”
Smack!
A gasp left Christian’s lips as warmth spread across his right cheek. Swat! With each hit, Logan’s hand hit a slightly different area and warmth shot out from each blow.
With his hands and feet on the ground, Christian moaned with each hit. Damn but this was nice, so much better than he imagined.
When a particularly hard swing made him grunt in both pleasure and pain, a strange little cry left his lips as Logan went back to massaging. “Still okay?” Logan asked quietly.
“Yes,” Christian panted. “Better than my fantasies.”
“That’s good to hear.” The smile was evident in Logan’s voice. “Now, I have a suggestion, but it would include touching, which I don’t know if you’re ready for. It’s called an erotic spanking and would include both spanking and touch. I promise to keep my fingers on top of the material, but won’t do it unless you agree.”
Logan wanted to touch him, possibly stroke his cock. Oh god, how Christian wanted that. He wanted to feel Logan touching him, though he didn’t have any idea why he would combine it with spanking. “Do it,” he said in short breaths, unwilling to back off from the pleasure he was experiencing.
“All right.”
Whack!
That was the hardest one yet and even as Christian winced at the pain, the heat spread and pleasure sizzled along his skin. The pressure intensified with each swing and when Christian wondered if he would need to have Logan stop, he did. Everything changed. Strong fingers stroked between his legs over his underwear. They rubbed over his anus, around and on his perineum, and massaged his balls.
“Oh, fuck!” Christian gasped, arching a little. That was something nobody had ever done before, not even himself except while washing—never for the feelings it might provide.
Those wonderful strong fingers went back, rubbing directly over that wonderful patch of skin between his scrotum and his anus, making him grunt in pleasure. Then they trailed up and around his asshole, making tiny little circles. “Oh, god, oh, god,” Christian chanted, feeling as though he was in a fantasy. Surely reality could not feel that good?

As Natural as Breathing – Book One
For Christian Darringer, life isn't worth living. Just back from the Middle East—scarred and with permanent damage to one leg—he doesn't think anyone will want him for anything. He didn't plan on meeting someone he can’t stop thinking about. Pulled toward the startling younger man, he begins to question a lot of things—especially his sexuality. Not one to hide from a challenge, he plunges ahead only to find himself more than just attracted to Logan.

Logan Mannette has almost everything he ever wanted: loving parents, happiness, friends, and security. The only thing missing is the love of his life, a love just like his parents have. When he meets Christian at a party, everything changes. Instantly attracted, he does his best to help the sad man and quickly finds himself feeling more than he has ever felt before. Raised in a domestic discipline household, he holds that ideal as what he wants. His interest in spanking has become a fetish and when Christian admits he wants to be spanked, Logan believes he might have found the perfect man.

Just as everything begins for them, Christian's past intercedes and one of his brothers makes waves about him dating a man. When it lands Christian in the hospital, he is forced to reevaluate their budding romance. Being with Logan might feel as natural as breathing, but if it costs Christian everything he cares about, is this new relationship worth it?

Took My Breath Away – Book Two
While unhappy to be missing four weeks of Christian's company, Logan is thrilled to spend a month with his father's relatives in New York. A naturally gregarious individual, he’s used to winning people over and getting things right. Unfortunately the Mannettes are not what he expects and for the first time in his life, he doubts who he is.

Christian has regained some of his old self-esteem and is taking on new challenges. Besides growing in the relationship he has with Logan, he takes the time his boyfriend is away to learn more about domestic discipline. He learns a little online but it is Gregory, Logan's father, where he gains most of his information. Including the fact that his natural strength puts him in a position he doesn’t expect.

Logan hits rock bottom and Christian runs to the rescue. He saves Logan from New York, but puts their relationship in a new sort of peril. When the dust settles, who will be left on top?

Breathe Each Other In – Book Three
Christian takes to heart everything he learns from Logan's father. As he and Logan go forward in their DD relationship, he finds that he’s willing to not just take on the mantle of head of house, but to embrace it. With Logan graduating from college, Christian takes the next logical step and asks his boyfriend to move in.

Even with the stress of student teaching and trying to figure out what to do after graduation, Logan leaps at the chance to live with the man he loves. The pressure of graduation begins to get to him and the only thing keeping him grounded is the amazing man at his side.

Those closest to them make huge changes in their own lives and when an unexpected job offer lands in Logan's lap, they have to make a life-altering decision. No matter which way they go, they need to give something up. Play it safe and stay home or accept the job and move away from their families? When it comes to decision time, there is one thing they are not willing to part with. That one thing makes all the difference in the world.

Guest Post - 9/17/17 - Becoming Family by PK Corey #DD #SpankingRomance

The talented PK Corey has dropped by to share and excerpt and information about her heartwarming domestic discipline book "Becoming Family," Book 2 in her Cal's Law series.

Before we begin with Cal and Jenny, I asked PK a question, and I thought I'd share it here.

What is your writing environment?

I love to write in the mornings when I have the house to myself and it’s very quiet. We have a sun room that overlooks our pool and the small forest behind out house. I’m there most morning with my coffee, a fire if it’s cool, the windows opened if it’s warm. Add a cat or two and I’m ready to write.

Now, it's on to Cal and Jenny....

Excerpt:

Jenny said no more to her mother, but turned to give her such a hate filled stare that her mother ground out her cigarette and grabbed Jenny’s face in a bruising grip. Jenny felt her mother’s nails digging in as she spoke.
“You started this, you little bitch. Bringing that horrible man to our home as if he were an equal. I’ve put up with you for twenty years and just when you’re to the point of being of some value to the family you think you’re going to marry trash.”
Jenny tried to pull her face from her mother’s grasp, but the fingers only dug in deeper and more painfully.
“You will marry into our social class. Better, in fact, this man is from royal lines and he has a title. You’re not being thrown into a dungeon, Virginia. He has wealth and prestige and he wants an American bride. I’ve told the staff that you’ve fallen into a cult-like group who controls you with drugs. They think we’re getting you into rehab and they are willing to help in every way.
“We are going to the house for a while. Any type of commotion you make will just be chalked up to your drug induced state. So, you will be quiet, you will behave and you will give me no trouble.” Releasing Jenny’s face her mother delivered a stinging slap before sitting back in her seat.

Blurb:

Against overwhelming odds, Jenny and Cal are together and happy. Their love is strong, but before they can become family Jenny needs to learn what that word means. Jenny has no background in the real meaning of "family" but when Cal wants her to meet his and get to know hers, she knows the time has come. The difference in the two families is wide and jarring. Jenny has a lot to learn, but then so does Cal. When he meets her family, he discovers that the word family doesn't always mean the same thing to all people.
Jenny’s mother has planned a future for her daughter that does not include someone as ordinary as Cal Bennet. What could this small-town hick with no money and no connections do for her? How far will her mother go to see that Jenny accepts a life of high society and prestige? Will these two lovers come to an understanding of what their family will look like?

About PK:

The love of writing came to me late in life and I spent time trying to fit writing into a busy schedule. Recently I retired, the kids are out and on their own and my wonderful husband encourages me to spend more time exploring the world of writing.

I always hear you should write what you want to read, so I have. I write loving domestic discipline with the stress on ‘loving’. I want a strong man who cherishes the woman he loves and will go to any length to keep her safe and protected.

My Cassie’s Space series shows a mature couple who are deeply in love. Despite loving Cassie’s free spirited ways Tom is determination to keep her safe, even if it takes a trip over his knee. My new series, Cal’s Law, is about a younger couple. Though they come from very different backgrounds, love and discipline draw them together.

#SatSpanks - 9/9/17 - Acting Lessons - Kate is being called to account #KissMeKate #Spanking

Peter loved Kate with all his being, but that didn't mean he'd tolerate an ultimatum from her.

Reading this material at Work could get you spanked.

Welcome to the Saturday Spankings blog hop.  My stories are all M/f with the dominant male determined to protect the woman he cares for and loves, or grows to love, by doing whatever it takes to ensure her safety and continued health.  This includes administering a spanking when she needs one.

My submission for this week is from my third spanking romance titled, Acting Lessons. I haven't shared from this book for over a year, so it's time.
He was a strict and demanding college professor turned professional director who excelled at giving acting lessons.  She was his shy and uncertain former student who became a professional actress under his tutelage.  They fell in love, married, and won two Tony Awards before tragedy struck and a simple kiss ripped them apart.

After a six month separation, Peter Thorton decides to take matters into his own hands by making his famous wife, Kate, an offer she wouldn't refuse.  Plainly put, he wants her back and he intends to do whatever is necessary to achieve his goal, even if it means giving his stubborn, willful leading lady a daily reminder over his knee that she promised to obey him.

Setup: After injuring her knee and spending a few hours in the hospital, Kate ends up sleeping in Peter's bed.  He's taken very good care of her and she's torn between allowing him to continue leading the dance they've started, or leaving before she gets hurt again.  Her heart is still bruised and tender and she's not entirely sure she trusts her ex-husband not to hurt her again.  Though he's warned her to call him before she gets out of bed, Kate decides she needs to be less dependent on him, and more self-reliant.  However, she didn't expect to get caught. Though Peter is not above teaching Kate a lesson, he chooses instead to carry her over to the breakfast table set up in their bedroom. Peter waits until she's had her fill before he addresses Kate's disobedience the day before by asking her why she won't simply admit she'd been jealous. Kate admits that she may have acted out on purpose, but that doesn't mean she wants him to punish her for it. Peter disagrees saying her actions were a deliberate challenge, and ignoring it would be doing both of them a disservice.

Sighing, she took a step closer. "It's just…I don't like getting spanked."
One eyebrow arched in disbelief. "I believe that is the whole point of this exercise. I wouldn't be doing this as a punishment if you enjoyed it. However, there is an easy fix for that, isn't there? You can stop behaving in a manner that requires me to prove how far I will go to protect you while demonstrating beyond a doubt just how deeply I love you."
Wincing, she felt herself slowly moving toward him; as if she was being drawn closer despite the part of her that vehemently rebelled against what he intended to do. She stopped a few feet from him, reluctant to move any closer. "I'd rather you prove that by kissing me, instead."
"I'll do that, too. This spanking is to prove I will take action when you deliberately defy or disobey me in a way that is harmful to you. And the only time I will ever take such firm action with you is when you clearly need reminding of that fact. You deliberately challenged me in your agent's office and defied me in the studio because you doubted I would carry through with my threat. You will now be well assured that I will. You need and want me to be firm about this, Katie, even if you refuse to admit it aloud. Now take my hand, and I'll help you get in position," he said offering his support.

Even Kate realizes what she did was wrong, but admitting her jealously only brings back bad memories.

#MFRWHooks - 9/6/17 - Lessons in Love - Rob gets an unfortunate phone call #OfficeRomance #SpankingRomance

She needed a job, he needed a personal assistant. What could go wrong?

Welcome back to Book Hooks, a regular Wednesday feature! In this blog loop, we hope to provide you with some tantalizing tidbits in our books.

My submission for this week's Book Hooks is from my 8th novel, Lessons in Love.

Pam Weston didn't have many choices as far as employment went. Her prison sentence saw to that. With limited secretarial skills, and an even more limited budget, she never considered herself executive material. So, when she was ordered to report to the CEO of her company as his new personal assistant, she fully expected to be checking out the "Help Wanted" section of the paper before the day was over.

Robert Peterson knew his management style was not HR approved, but he believed in using the stick as well as the carrot. Employing the tenets of domestic discipline, he helped mold his personal assistants into confident women who recognized their own self-worth. Even so, his unorthodox methods were only one of the reasons many considered the position of his assistant to be a revolving door. To Rob's mind, Pamela Weston was perfect for his purposes, though given her past he expected convincing her to agree to his program would be a challenge.

In this scene, which occurs in chapter eight, Robert Peterson is treating his new executive assistant, Pam Weston, to dinner at his exclusive club where he escorts her to a private dining room so she can ask her questions. However, when Pam refuses to sit down, Rob stands. The moment he does, Pam sits and picks up her menu saying she's not sure what she's going order. Rob steps over and asks her to take his hand. When she finally obeys, he holds her close and assures her she's safe. Then taking her over to the couch, he pulls her down on his lap and continues with his agenda by telling Pam every time she disobeyed one of his orders, she made a conscious decision to do so, which he considers to be willful disobedience. An offense far more serious than simple disobedience, which, if you read between the lines, means he intends to give her a spanking.

Pam crossed her arms over her chest and glared at him. She would not participate willingly, and she would give him a fight if he attempted to discipline her here. His eyebrow rose in challenge, but he was prevented from saying more when his phone rang.
"No. Stay put. Let me see who it is, first." He glanced at the display, and sighed. "I'll need to take this." He pushed a button. "Peterson…. Calm down, John, and tell me what’s wrong…. I don’t see…. I'm currently in a meeting, so…. All right, we'll discuss it. Give me five minutes and I'll call you back…. Right…. Bye."
He replaced his cell in his pocket and frowned down at her. "This couldn't come at a more inconvenient time, but it appears I have a small crisis on my hands with the Hemley case, so I must leave you for a bit. If dinner arrives before I'm back, don't wait for me. That's an order. You've already broken the rule about obedience on at least seven occasions today, so I'd suggest you not do anything which will require me to add to the count." He eased her to her feet and rose. Then he surprised her by giving her a kiss that caused her knees to go weak.
"Behave," he warned with a light smack once he'd released her. "I'll be back as soon as I can." Then he stepped out of the room to make his call.

Since Rob knows Pam is nervous about their relationship, he takes her to his club so she could openly ask him questions with far more privacy than a restaurant would offer. Another perk, given the purpose of his club and the predilections of its members, is the privacy it offers should members choose to act on their issues, rather than merely discuss them. Unfortunately, all this only serves to make Pam even more nervous as the man does himself.

#WIPitUP - 9/6/17 - Learning to be Little - Kelly tries to be a good girl #SpankingRomance #Ageplay

WIP: Work in progress.  WIP it up Wednesday is a hop where writers share portions of the project they're working on with readers.  I really like the idea because it allows me to share something that's still in the creative stage as well as work behind the scenes as a prompt to keep me writing.

The WIP I've chosen to share today is tentatively titled "Learning to be Little: Kelly's Story."  It is a story about Kelly Franklin's first immersion into BDSM with a Daddy Dom. It begins in the present directly after "A Dom's Dilemma" then slips into her past before returning to the present again. It's my first attempt at an age play story, but I hope it will provide a lot more insight into Kelly's character. Though the manuscript has been accepted by Blushing Books, until it's published, I still consider it a WIP.

The mock cover I used for Camp NaNo
I'm continuing where I left off last time. As an only child born to two only children, a young and precocious Kelly Franklin seeks out her Daddy whenever something frightens her. Unfortunately, her Daddy isn't available to soothe her and two strange men were hurting her mother. Scared, Kelly remains as quiet as a mouse in her parent's closet until the police pull her out. Twelve years later, Kelly still suffers nightmares from that time and finds herself walking the streets. When she is approached by a "gentlemanly stranger", who invites her to dinner, Kelly accompanies her new "customer" into a fancy restaurant with well-founded suspicion and a bit of an attitude that could get her in trouble if she isn't careful. However, despite her uncertainty over the gentleman's intentions, Kelly does her best to do what he wants.

Realizing this was an interview of sorts, Kelly let him take the lead while she ate. Once she was done, she wiped her lips and glanced up to find the gentleman smiling at her. Offering a tentative smile in return, she gave her substitute bib a gentle tug but stopped when he lightly slapped her hand.
"No. The napkin stays in place until I say you may remove it."
Kelly blinked at him but obediently lowered her hand to her lap.
"Good girl. You may pick one dessert from the menu the waiter will bring us, but, whatever you choose I will feed you. Understand?"
Kelly hesitated, about to ask why, but his expression indicated he would not welcome having his intentions questioned, so she answered, "Yes, sir."
Another approving smile. "Well done. You learn quickly."
When the waiter brought the menu, Mr. White directed him to hand it to her. She examined her selections. All of them were appealing, but, given his prior restrictions, she suspected her host had something specific in mind he wished for her to eat. Rather than have her choice vetoed again, she glanced at him and said, "I thought maybe the chocolate cake?"
"I think the icing might be too sweet for you. Perhaps another selection would be more appropriate?"
"Chocolate pudding?" she asked.
"Acceptable. Bring the young lady pudding, Andrew, but serve it to me, please."
"Yes, sir," Andrew replied and left without so much as a blink of surprise.
Considering his request a bit unusual, Kelly asked, "Do you come here often?"
"On occasion, yes. They know what I prefer."
"Apparently so."

Graham White is definitely "auditioning" Kelly to see if she's a likely candidate for him to bring home.

Hope you enjoyed the excerpt.  Thanks for visiting.  Now go visit the other authors and see what they're sharing by either clicking one of the links below, or visiting WIP it up Wednesday.

Guest Post - 9/5/17 - Holding Cynthia by Libby Campbell #Discipline #EroticRomance #Spanking

Libby Campbell has dropped by to share her second book in her Romancing the Coast series, "Holding Cynthia" - Her heroes are definitely my kind of guys.

She's currently working on a time travel with another author, so I asked:

If you could travel to any time, what time period would you like to explore?

I’d love to visit Victorian England if I could live as one of the upper classes. My roots are English but, on my mother’s side at least, my family were the ruled, not the ruling class.

I’d want to be the Victorian lady with a handsome, stern but loving husband who lets her sleep until 9, shop for fine clothes, and play cards until early morning hours.

That's the life for me, too.

Excerpt:

Antony opened his arms. “Come here.”
Cynthia tilted her head, not understanding what he wanted.
“Come. Sit on my knee for a bit, we’re going to have a little talk.”
She sat awkwardly on his left thigh and he responded by lifting her legs up, so they draped over the right arm of the chair. There was no choice but to put her arm around his neck for balance.
He bounced her a couple of times. “That’s nice, isn’t it?”
“It is.” She leaned into him, enjoying the softness of his beard rubbing her face.
“I’ve told you I’m going to spank you. How do you feel about that?”
“I haven’t been spanked since I was a little kid and even then it was just a couple of fast swats.” She shrugged. “I guess I’ll try anything once.”
“If you and I are going continue seeing each other, you’d better be prepared for it to happen on a regular basis. How long and hard the spankings are will depend entirely on you.”
She bent her head, hiding behind the curtain of her silver bob that draped in front of her face. “Really?”
“I’m a lover not a fighter,” he said, hugging her gently. “Spanking is a way of clearing the air between us. It keeps things on an even keel, relieves built up tension.”
“You mean your tension about what I do?”
“For the most part, yes. I’m not going to bullshit you. I’m going to be the leader in our relationship. You are an amazingly strong and capable woman. But you’re also stubborn and willful. You’ve been the boss of your own life for so long, you think you’re taking care of yourself, that you’re self-aware. But you’re not. You know some of the things that you’ve been doing like taking care of business, taking care of your mother, your daughter, your father. That’s not looking after yourself. That’s looking after community which is important.”
He held her a bit closer. “But you can’t look after anyone if you don’t look after yourself. Everything I’ve learned about you tells me your needs haven’t been looked after for a very long time. No one who is looking after themselves gets so exhausted they can’t manage a half hour walk. You need someone to watch over you. If you’ll let me, I’d like that to be me.”
She leaned into him, tired to the core, grateful just to be sitting on his lap. “I’d like it to be you, too. I think. I don’t know. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have someone telling me what to do all the time.”
“I’m not going to tell you what to do all the time. Not only are you too smart to need that, it would bore me too quickly to have to do it. I’m only going to take control when I can see that you’ve lost your way.”
He lifted her chin, meeting her eyes. “Does that sound fair?”
“Sure.” She brushed a lock of hair behind her ears.
“Do you know why I’m going to spank you today?”

Blurb:

Antony Jacobson first held Cynthia Donohue in his arms at a wintry December wedding. Four months later, the statuesque, silver-haired woman continues to haunt his thoughts.

Cynthia is about to move to the West Coast to be closer her daughter. As her plane touches down in her new city, she steels herself to cope on her own. When she finds Antony waiting at the arrivals gate, a wave of gratitude and desire floods through her.

A lifetime of independence hasn’t prepared Cynthia for a submissive role in a relationship. She craves love, romance, and someone to share sunsets. But deep down she believes her dreams are out of her reach. Worse, they are a betrayal of her feminist principles. That’s fine: indomitable, handsome Antony will wait.

She is tired and aching beyond all memory so Antony takes charge. Very quickly, he realizes there is something wrong, very wrong, with Cynthia’s health. He insists that she see a doctor.

She says he is overprotective. He agrees. He is also determined to look after her if she won’t look after herself. A trip over his knee shakes Cynthia to the core. In spite of herself she likes – she wants – this loving correction. More importantly, she agrees that he may be right about seeing a doctor.

Is Antony too much, too soon, or is he just what the doctor ordered?
