She needed a savior, but she wasn't looking for a second daddy
Welcome back to Book Hooks, a regular Wednesday feature! In this blog loop, we hope to provide you with some tantalizing tidbits in our books.
My submission for this week's Book Hooks is from my current WIP, Learning to be Little: Kelly's Story. It's the prequel to my only BDSM novel, A Dom's Dilemma.
Cold and hungry, Kelly Franklin was down on her luck when a gentleman stepped in, paid for an hour of her time, fed her, then made a proposition she never expected, but couldn't afford to turn down.
In this scene, which occurs in chapter one, cold and down-in-her-luck, Kelly Franklin has accepted a stranger's invitation for dinner. Though she is a little taken aback when the gentleman insists on cutting up her meat and feeding her dessert, the excellent food and warm restaurant more than make up for his strange eccentricities. So, she plays along despite her unease.
"I am
very pleased with you, Kelly Franklin," he murmured softly. "So, I
intend to give you a reward once we leave here. Are you warm enough that you would
be willing to walk a bit further with me now?"
Kelly had
no wish to go back out into the cold, but he'd paid for three hours of her time
and dinner had barely taken an hour, so she gave another nod.
He
accepted her answer without comment, requested and paid their bill, then
assisted her into her coat, taking care to ensure his scarf was wrapped
securely about her neck before he buttoned her up.
"You
need something that will keep you much warmer; else you could catch a
chill."
Kelly had
no argument for that logic. Once they left, he took her by the hand again and walked
her over to a small newspaper stand. "Consider this a special treat, since
candy is bad for your teeth, but you may go over and select one candy bar. Then
bring it back to me, unopened."
He gave
her a couple of dollars, so Kelly went to the counter and debated what she
would have. She hadn't gotten much candy at the orphanage, and couldn't afford
it after she left, so this was indeed a treat for her. She wondered if he knew
that when she selected chocolate covered peanut butter cups.

Love this Kathryn, he's very attentive. Love the sound of this, great to learn more of Kelly's story.

His attentions seem paternal...I think I see where this is going...I wonder if she does.
