Took My Breath Away Book Tour Stop - It's Day 2 for Thianna D. #Spanking #GayRomance #BookTour

I'm excited to have Thianna D returning to "A Writer's Naughty Thoughts" with information about her new release Took My Breath Away the much looked for sequel to As Natural As Breathing.  Thianna appeared here back in August to discuss the first book.  If you want to see that post first, please click As Natural As Breathing.  And now I will place you into the talented hands of Thianna D.

Thanks Kathryn for hosting the Took My Breath Away Book Blog Tour today!

It's Day 2 of the Took My Breath Away Book Blog Tour and I'm excited to be over on Kathryn's A Writer's Naughty Thoughts Blog. (Well, who wouldn't?) If you miss any days of the book blog tour, you can find links to them here.

What genres do you write besides gay erotic romance?
Well, I write M/F erotic romance as well as both M/M and M/F erotica. Also, under another name I write romance, young adult, and fantasy/sci-fi. I have a lot of different genres I enjoy reading and what I enjoy reading I also enjoy writing.
Except for plays. I enjoy reading plays, but writing them? No. It's rather like slamming my head up against the wall.

How long did you write before you were published?
Well, *grins* I've been writing since I could write – I still have one of the first stories I wrote when I was like five years old. So a long, long time.

What are you currently reading?
I have a lot of books in my Kindle, but there are certain books/stories that grip you so hard and whose characters become such a part of you that you cannot stop reading them. Harry Potter stories were that way and so is Falls Chance Ranch, a series of M/M domestic discipline stories that revolve around a ranch. Gripping. Wonderful. I never want to stop reading it.
No matter what new books I download into my eReader, I invariably turn to the men at Falls Chance, as they feel like home. If they were in audio, I'd be listening to them too.

Do you have any advice for other writers?
Write what you love. I see, far too often, a huge influx of people writing something because "Oh, Look! That book is selling, so I will write one just like that." It's boring and copycat-esque. Instead, dig deep within you for your own characters, your own storylines, and most definitely your own titles. You will write better and your story will have more impact.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Oh, boy. Yes, where it ends. This was written as a trilogy. The problem is, I am now in the midst of three and realize there will be a fourth. If I had made this book about thirty thousand words longer and taken them through the holiday season, this would not have been an issue.
Ah, well. Hindsight ;)

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
All the voices. I cannot tell you how many works-in-progress I have because it would probably make the readers fall off their chairs. It is difficult to write when several storylines want my attention at the same time. Sometimes it gets so frustrating I can't write anything. I hate those times.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
I'm not much of a 'message' kind of girl. But if anything, I would want readers to recognize that romance is romance, whether it be M/F or M/M. It is about two people making things work.

What were the challenges you faced in bringing your latest book to life?
I think the hardest part was wondering how the readers would react to one part of it. It is 'reality' and yet in romance books, reality most of the time does not exist. In most DD novels, we have the alpha male who is the spanker and is also in the charge of discipline as well.
Since I came to this through a BDSM background, and the fact that Logan and Christian led the way, this is the exact opposite. It shows that just because someone is the 'top' in the sexual relationship, that does not mean they are the dominant in the discipline sense.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?
It isn't a superpower, per se, but I would love to be able to transport from here to there without the need for cars, trains, planes, space ships…etc.
Beam me up, Scotty ;)

What book do you wish you’d written?
While I am not a fan of the 50 Shades trilogy, I wish I had written it. Why? For the sheer reality of how well it sells and how many people it has touched. What author would not want to be in that spot? Her trilogy has changed the way the world sees erotica.
Just for that simple fact, that trilogy will go down as one of the most important in our century. Especially to those who love to write and read erotic literature.

What are your current projects?
How much time do you have? *grins* Well, too many to mention, but the main ones I am working on right now are:
a novella for the Corbin's Bend spanking romance series (more info on that coming Jan 2nd).
2nd novel in The Shift series.
3rd novel in All They Ever Needed series.
3rd novel in my non-erotic Dating Service series.
Taking my 170K YA Dystopian story and separating and expanding it into three novels.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?
Would love to! In this snippet, Logan has just gotten home from college and Christian, who helped him bring all of his stuff back, is heading out.

Christian had a few things he needed to do for work, plus his mother was expecting him for dinner, so they unpacked the truck, taking all the boxes down to the basement before he left. “See you tomorrow?” he asked after kissing Logan goodbye.

“Yep. Just let me know when and I will be ready.”

Christian grinned. “I’m taking you out to dinner. Be ready at six.”

Surprised, Logan watched him drive away. He had just been asked out on a date. Usually it was he who did the asking. A wonderful feeling bloomed in his stomach, the kind he associated with being loved and taken care of. Beaming, he went back inside.

Book Description:
Took My Breath Away
Sequel to As Natural As Breathing

Length: Novel
Genre: Gay Spanking Romance
Series: All They Ever Needed

Sometimes taking control is what you need to do and sometimes the best thing you can do is give that control up.

In the summer between Logan's junior and senior years of college, these two will find out more about each other and themselves than they imagined.

While unhappy to be missing four weeks of Christian's company, Logan is thrilled to spend a month with his father's relatives in New York.  A naturally gregarious individual, he is used to winning people over and getting things right. Unfortunately, the Mannettes are not what he expects and for the first time in his life, he finds himself seriously doubting who he is.

Christian has regained some of his old self-esteem and is taking on new challenges. Besides growing in the relationship he has with Logan, he takes the time his boyfriend is away to learn more about domestic discipline. He learns a little online but it is actually Gregory, Logan's father, where he gains most of his information. Including the fact that his natural strength puts him in a leadership position he isn't expecting.

When Logan returns to a strong, self-assured Christian, it is with complete relief. As discussions turn to domestic discipline and they realize their true roles within their current and future relationship, both of them are able to let their inhibitions go and together their connection grows surprising Logan to an epiphany.

Thianna D
For Thianna D, reading and writing are as important as breathing and far more important than math or science. A storyteller from the time she could speak, she was always making up characters as a kid. As a teenager that turned to sci-fi and fantasy, as an adult to romance. It wasn’t until her fourth decade that she began writing erotic scenes within her stories.
Writing M/M came naturally to her; she wrote her first tale before ever having read one. “There is something about the amazing dynamic between two strong men falling in love and defeating anything thrown at them.” While she had written several BDSM stories involving men, As Natural As Breathing was the first full-length novel involving domestic discipline. In Took My Breath Away, its sequel, Logan and Christian further their relationship in very defining ways.
