This post for HHD is from my 1st book, Mortal Illusions. A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a series of 3 books. Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently under production.
This snippet occurs about a third way into the book after Claire Daniels has finally convinced Germaine St. Justine, the two hundred year-old vampire, she hopes will ultimately save her brother's life, to make love. Claire's convinced herself she knows what she's getting into, but she's about to discover she's wrong. Possibly dead wrong, because making love to a vampire can be fatally addictive.

“Nothing,
you're simply recovering from your first loving with a vampire.”
“Will it
always be like this?”
“Lord, I
hope not. I'm not sure even I could take
it if it were always this intense.”
Read the first three chapters at: Mortal Illusions

Sounds like a great thing to be recovering from. ;)
ReplyDeleteIntensity is nice, but a slow burn is also pretty pleasant. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's got to be intense if a vampire can't handle it all the time. :) Hot snippet!
ReplyDeleteToo much intensity can have its drawbacks. It's really telling that even a Vampyre finds it too intense.
