This post for HHD is from my 1st book, Mortal Illusions. A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a series of 3 books.  Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently under production.

In this segment, a continuation of my April 1 Six Sentence Sunday, Claire Daniels is torn between her fear and her desire for Germaine after she's witnessed the start of what appeared to be his group torturing another woman.  When she demands to know exactly what his followers were doing to the mortal female, Germaine refuses to say.  With the sober knowledge that some things can't be explained, they have to be shown, he continues a slow, methodical seduction intended to bring Claire to a painful point of arousal.

My current post for 6SS, is from my 2nd book, Deadly Enchantment. A shape-shifting wizard romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Deadly Enchantment concerns a young psychic woman facing off with the dark wizard of Ravenscroft, who she is convinced has brutally slaughtered her sister in a fit of jealousy on their wedding night.

In this segment, Serena Cunningham and Dominic Westcroft have taken shelter in a vacant cottage from a magical and malevolent storm cast by Dominic's brother, Terrence.  When they are able to deflect the charged lightening with a kiss, they realize by coming together their magic is far stronger and more resilient than Terrence's web of evil ever could be.  So, Dominic prepares to make love to Serena, fully understanding his claiming her virginity will result in consequences that will change both their lives forever.

The Romance Reviews - Join the Erotic Romance Madness

I'm really excited to be joining the TRR Erotic Romance Madness Hop.  The book I'm offering for this hop will be "Arrested by Love," my erotic spanking romance.  Why do I love this book?  Because it's the first book I've been able to write where spanking is not only allowed, but encouraged.  All of my books have dominant, alpha heroes who tend to spank the women under their protection.  They do it because they feel spanking, although not politically correct in this day and age, is much better for a relationship than quarreling or separating in anger ever could be.  The woman has to agree to the punishment, of course, and my heroes would never abuse the consent their lady gives to them.

In "Arrested by Love" the hero, a police officer, has been in love with the heroine for many years, but because she is wealthy and young Kyle has struggled to maintain his distance, despite enduring through a number of outrageous pranks intended to tempt him into taking their relationship farther.  However, when Tiffany finally steps across a line Kyle can no longer pretend to ignore, he offers her a choice.  Either she submits to a very painful trip over his knee, or she can spend the night in jail.  Left with little choice, Tiffany agrees to the spanking, which Kyle delivers then obliging follows with reassurance and some passionate kissing that leads to him finally asking Tiffany out on a date.

Frisky Friday - Amazon Knock-offs

When Fortune published their article on Amazon Knock offs, these books were available.  However, Amazon has since removed most if not all of them.   I even tried to purchase the "Fifty Shades of Grey" knock-off "Thirty-five Shades of Grey" at Createspace, (I'd already purchased all three of the originals and was curious how close the knock-off was to the original) but it wasn't available for purchase there either.

The idea behind the knock-offs is to confuse the reader into purchasing the "wrong" book.  It's not nice to fool your readers, so Amazon did the responsible thing and took these books down.  Since most of these books were published by Amazon's Createspace self-publishing division, I doubt any sanctions were made against the authors, but hopefully Amazon will be more careful to make sure any books that could potentially confuse readers are properly identified in the future.

I wrote a previous article on knock-off covers, but these books are knock-offs on the material and the original books in question.

Below is a list of the books Fortune found.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" by E.L. James vs. "Thirty-five Shades of Grey" by J.D. Lyte

This cover is not at all similar to Stieg Larsson's Book

"The Girl of the Dragoon Tattoo" by Stieg Larsson vs. "I am the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Karen Peebles (CD only)

"New Moon" by Stephanie Meyers vs. "Twilight New Moon" by Alexandre (no cover though the item is reportedly still available from Amazon through Coy24)  Since Alexandre Desplat did the score for New Moon, I'm not sure if this is a knock off for the book, or the music.  However, the listing for this item on Amazon has an "unknown binding" and sells for $7.57 with a $3.99 shipping charge.

Moral of the story, caveat emptor.  Make sure when you're shopping on the Internet that you are purchasing the item you intended to purchase.
