Frisky Friday - 5/29/15 - Arrested by Love - Maybe it isn't the flu #DD #SpankingRomance

He caught her speeding in a school zone and decided she needed to learn even civil disobedience could have very painful consequences.

Another Friday, another excerpt to launch you into your weekend.  For this Frisky Friday I am sharing a bit from my 3rd book, Arrested by Love.  A handsome, but strict, police officer decides a spoiled socialite needs a special lesson in obeying the law.

Tiffany Morgan has been in love with Kyle Sinclair since she was ten years old, when he'd turned her over his knee for attempting to swim in a raging white water river. Though she'd been furious with him at the time, Tiffany never told her family what Kyle did. Instead, she began trailing after him like an annoying younger sister as she tried to gain his attention.

Now, eleven years later, Kyle, a patrol officer, is finding it much more difficult to maintain his distance from the irresistible and vivacious redhead who continues to invent ingenious ways to attract his interest. Though he dismissed her initial attraction to him as infatuation, as she grew-up, his own feelings of desire and protectiveness deepened. So, despite his constant struggle to resist the spirited little minx's lures, Kyle finally has to admit that he is losing the battle--badly.

The following section occurs about two-thirds through the book, and in it Tiffany isn't feeling the least bit frisky at the moment.  Kyle and Tiffany have been separated for several weeks.  She's refusing to see him after catching him in a lie, and her family has circled the wagons around her.  Recently, Kyle learned Tiffany isn't doing well, so he decides to conduct a stake out near her home when he spots the family leaving the house.  Tiffany is so weak, she can barely stand by herself.  His protective instincts rushing to the fore, Kyle promptly intervenes. His presence seems to rally Tiffany's low spirits, even if it's only for a show of anger, so her father allows it, but informs Kyle if Tiffany prefers to be back home, he will do everything in his power to get her back.  Kyle doesn't expect anything less as he carries Tiffany to his car and drives her to the doctor. Once there, he takes full control by carrying Tiffany into an examination room.

"Let's have a look at her first.  Go ahead and get her Mr. Sinclair.  I'll wait here."
"Thank you."  Kyle walked back to pick Tiffany up again.  She started to protest, but he shook his head.  "Quiet.  We're going to take you back to an examination room now.  So, relax."
Tiffany glanced over at Nancy who gave her a smile then led them into a small examining room.  Kyle carefully laid her down on the examining table, and pressed lightly on her chest when she tried to sit up.  "You just stay there for a few minutes."  Then Kyle walked to the other side and held Tiffany's hand while the nurse took Tiffany's temperature and blood pressure."
"Temp is 98.6.  Blood pressure is 100 over 60.  A little low.  How are you feeling, Tiffany?"
"Like I'm going to throw up all the time."
            "Headache?"
            "Yes."
            "Any other aches or pains?"
She glanced over at Kyle, who simply nodded for her to continue.  With a sigh she said, "My breasts hurt."
"Okay.  I'll get you a gown.  Take everything off, and Dr. Sloan will come in and see you shortly."
"Everything?" Tiffany asked.  "But I think I just have the flu."
Nancy nodded.  "Maybe, but I think Dr. Sloan is going to want to give you a full examination today.  It's been over a year for you, so it's time."
Tiffany shook her head.  "No.  I mean, I don't think it's--"
"Tiffany…." Kyle warned.  "Let's let the doctor decide, shall we?  I'll help her."
Nancy nodded, but Tiffany tried to sit up.  "No!"
Kyle pressed a finger to her lips and pressed her back down.  "Enough."  Tiffany scowled at him so he said to Nancy.  "Go ahead and leave us alone for a few minutes.  She'll be ready."

Tiffany is upset with Kyle, but at the moment she is so ill, even glaring at him takes more energy than she's got, but Kyle refuses to leave her side again, blaming himself for not insisting upon seeing her a lot sooner than he did.

  1. Love how Kyle is taking care of her. He's not taking no for an answer.
