This material is Not Safe For Work. If you’re not over 18, please explore elsewhere.

Welcome to Horny Hump Day, a regular Wednesday feature! In this blog loop, we hope to provide you with tiny little tidbits of the most sexy and sensuous moments in our books. Just 3 sentences. The books might be already published, works-in-progress, or even classic literature we think you’ll like.

This post for HHD is from my 1st book, Mortal Illusions. A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a series of 3 books.  Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently under production. In this segment, Claire Daniels has finally convinced the two hundred year-old vampire, she hopes will ultimately save her brother's life, into making love to her, except Germaine's seduction has a double purpose....
* * * * *

His hands exquisitely gentle, Germaine removed Claire's clothing one piece at a time, brushing the sensitive flesh of her stomach, inner thighs and breasts with the soft fuzziness of her cashmere sweater, the silky softness of her blouse and the plush, velvety smoothness of her skirt.  Many breathless minutes later, she stood in nothing but her garters and stockings--her skin alive with sensation.
Gently, he laid her on her satin coverlet.

Six Sentence Sunday - Mar. 25 - Arrested by Love

This material is Not Safe For Work. If you’re not over 18, please explore elsewhere.

Welcome to my 6SS where I hope to provide you with tiny little tidbits of the most sexy and sensuous moments in my books. Just 6 sentences, that I intend to build from my Horny Hump Day 3 sentence feature. The books might be already published, works-in-progress, or even sentences from other sexy books I think you’ll like.  Of course, I will properly attribute all works, even mine.

My post for this Wednesday is from my 3rd book, Arrested by Love. An erotic spanking novel published by Blushing Books.

In this scene, which is near the end of the book, Kyle and Tiffany are in bed, and he has just asked her to submit by completely giving her will over to him.

* * * * *
...He was telling her that he had all the control and she had none.  He was much stronger, and yet he was being incredibly gentle as he coaxed her into a state of bliss, not allowing her to do anything but feel him as he sucked, licked and lightly nipped her.  Then she came, and that too was liberating.  She felt like she was floating, and he kept her up in the air for what seemed to be an incredible length of time before he gently eased her down.
When he entered her, Tiffany instinctively brought her knees up.  He allowed it, then put her legs over his shoulders...

Frisky Friday - Erotica and the National Media

I tuned into Blog Talk Radio last night (Thursday) because Verity Ant was supposed to be on, but due to technical errors (way beyond her control) the show went off the air an hour earlier than it was scheduled to.  Verity, along with her husband Derek, write hardcore BDSM fiction under D.V. Ant.  If you're looking for "soft and fluffy," these books are not for you.  Her novel "Breaking Toys" fascinates me, but I have yet to gather enough courage to read it.  Certain things "squick" me out, and Verity is a master of them.  However, the discussion on last night's Blog Talk Radio show was to be centered around Fifty Shades and why it has gained sudden national media attention with a movie deal on the table for the trilogy.

All I can say is, "Way to go, E.L. James."  Even though some readers (Verity and Derek included) think her book portrays BDSM as an illness that can be "fixed" through a person finding his or her own "one true love," I didn't get that impression.  Probably because I viewed the book as pure fantasy, and definitely not as the marriage primer I've heard some readers consider it, nor as a factual representation of BDSM.

The more I listen to those who criticize Fifty Shades as doing a great disservice to BDSM, I'm convinced they are individuals who have "real life" knowledge or experience in the lifestyle (if you haven't read the trilogy, you might want to wait until the movie comes out...only kidding).  For me, that perspective is similar to what some police officers have of ABC's "Castle" (check out Lee Lofland's blog on the reality of the show's police procedures as an example).

However, for viewers who aren't watching "Castle" to gain a better understanding of police procedures, or watching "Body of Proof" to understand what a medical examiner does, or "Grey's Anatomy" to learn how to be a doctor, those shows are entertainment.  They are interesting to watch, nothing more.  Most of the finer points go right over the majority of viewers' heads.  But some individuals, who actually practice in those professions, believe those shows are actually doing a disservice to their profession.

The other critical perception I'm seeing for Fifty Shades is coming from authors who react to manuscript or grammatical errors the same way I react to fingers trailing down a blackboard.  And even though their list of problems may differ from the issues listed by the individuals who have an intimate knowledge of BDSM, the majority of readers appear to gloss over those errors, too.

Sherri Hayes, author of "Slave," was also on the show last night.  Sherri has done some very serious research for her "Finding Anna" series through interviewing Doms and subs, who actually live a BDSM lifestyle, and getting their perspective on what is and isn't realistic.  She read a portion of Fifty Shades when it was still "Masters of the Universe" (a Twilight fanfic) but couldn't finish the series due to the total lack of realism in the story.  I totally understand her viewpoint, and even agree with her.  Fifty Shades isn't realistic BDSM.  It isn't realistic anything.  It is a modern day Beauty and the Beast where the innocent virgin meets the jaded rich billionaire who possesses a secret dark side. If you want anything deeper than that, you'll most likely be disappointed.

So, even though I didn't get to hear Verity talk Thursday night, I did get to hear Sherri along with an interesting discussion where I took note of several new authors I'm going to check out.  If you'd like to hear a recording of the show (that unless they can do some major editing, you'll need to ignore an obnoxiously loud puppy dog barking and snuffling at times, some occasional, but very irritating, beeps, as well as a slow and rocky start loaded with technical difficulties, but if that isn't enough to scare you off....) click Blog Talk Radio

And have a very Frisky Friday.

Bitten by Paranormal Romances for 18 & Over Readers

Do you enjoy books about naughty vampires and shape shifters who like to bite when they shouldn't?  Then you've come to the right place.

All of the authors involved in this blog hop are giving away either books, or book related materials.  For my part, I'm giving away a copy of my vampire romance, Mortal Illusions.

In this book my vampire hero is leader of a coven that is very D/s (Dominant/submissive) oriented where they occasionally tie women down as a punishment and....  Well, they do some pretty evil Dom stuff to them.  And when the heroine fears she may be placed in the same position, things unfortunately go from bad to worse.

Broadway--New York City. Bright lights and hot nights.

Despite a nightly, on-stage seduction by her sultry, debonair costar, Claire Daniels doesn't believe vampires are real. Not at first. But her brother is dying and she is desperate enough to believe in anything that might save him. Armed with only her blood and innocence for barter, Claire enters into the dark, silken web of the vampire with the belief that she can seduce one of its most powerful and elusive leaders into helping her save Robert's life. Such illusions, however, will cost Claire far more than she ever bargained for.

Want to read more about it?
If you're intrigued, but want to know more, please visit the Mortal Illusions page on my web site where you'll find excerpts and review snippets.

Six Sentence Sunday - Mar. 18 - Deadly Enchantment

My current post for 6SS, is from my 2nd book, Deadly EnchantmentA shape-shifting wizard romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Deadly Enchantment concerns a young psychic woman facing off with the dark wizard of Ravenscroft, who she is convinced has brutally slaughtered her sister in a fit of jealousy on their wedding night.

In this week's segment, Serena Cunningham is being tortured by magically induced erotic dreams where her dream lover arouses her until she begs him for more, then leaves her aching and unsatisfied.  The problem is, she isn't sure who's doing this to her.  And her very handsome host, Dominic Westcroft, has shown himself to be a man who will do anything to get exactly what he wants.  By this point she is exhausted, throbbing with need, and totally unaware she'd been crying out in her sleep when she is awakened by a thunderous pounding at her door.

* * * * *
“Are you all right?” he inquired from the hallway, his voice harsh and tense.
When she merely nodded, he added, “You were sobbing.  Is something wrong?”
A part of her wanted to ask if he was tormenting her in her sleep, but aside from not wanting to give him any satisfaction if he was responsible, she suspected if he wasn’t the one tormenting her, and she were to admit what was happening that he would insist upon tending to her himself, which was something she couldn’t allow to happen again.
She also had enough sense to know he wouldn’t accept a pat answer and quick dismissal, so she admitted, “I’ve been having a few bad dreams.  That’s all.”

Frisky Friday - Deadly Enchantment Excerpt

I did some trolling on the Internet as I looked for a good Frisky Friday topic, but couldn't find anything that I wanted to share.  I spent a lot of time on Dear Author reading a very critical review on Fifty Shades of Grey and the hundred plus comments that followed it.  If you're interested, click the Dear Author link.  And if you like critical reviews of Fifty Shades check out the recent review from Derek Ant giving a Dom's perspective on the portion of the trilogy he's read.

However, I've already written one post on Fifty Shades of Grey, and even though E.L. James has earned a 7 figure advance from Random House for her trilogy, I think the web has enough opinion pieces about James's former fanfic sensation.

So instead, I decided to offer up an excerpt from Deadly Enchantment that is not available anyplace else for readers, unless they purchase the book.

Set in Victorian England, Deadly Enchantment concerns two wizard half-brothers who have the ability to shift into leopards.  Terrence, the elder, has cast a spell that prematurely ages his sister as punishment for aligning herself with their younger, illegitimate half-brother, Dominic.  Helpless against their brother's treachery, Dominic holds Regina close as she dies in his arms.  Enraged by Terrence's treachery, Dominic wants nothing more than to challenge his evil brother to a lethal match of magic, but his swiftly waning magic has left him, and those he wishes to protect, vulnerable.  When he was sixteen years old, his tutor had warned him that to complete his powers he would need to mate with a woman pure of spirit and body prior to his thirtieth birthday.  If he failed to do that, he would slip into a steady decline that would result in him not only losing his powers, but cause him to lose his mind as well.  In short, he would slowly go insane until he would eventually need to be locked up for his own welfare and that of others.. So, in order to be successful in his plan to take down his brother, Dominic will need to make love to the young woman he'd been so desperate to protect....  His dead wife's sister, Serena Cunningham.

Seeking shelter from the electrically charged storm Terrence had thrown at them, the couple find themselves in an empty, abandoned cottage, ready to take the final step necessary to restore and enhance Dominic's magic.

Feeling a sense of urgency that did not allow for the time she’d need for a bath, Serena quickly used the commode, then gave herself a quick wash as a compromise.  Grabbing one of the thick, plush Turkish towels, she patted herself dry, noticing that the velvety material absorbed water from her skin with just the barest touch.  Unable to resist the temptation, she added just a touch of cologne and a dash of powder, then faced the difficult decision of either putting on Dominic’s shirt again or donning the white silk gown he’d created for her.  She suspected neither garment would remain on her for long, but the clothing he wore had more substance for her than the clothing he’d materialized.  Not that there was anything faulty in his magic.  There wasn’t.  The material itself was perfection.  But his shirt still held his scent and that offered her more comfort than the finest silk or satin he could conjure.
When she opened the door and stepped back into their bedroom, the room behind her dematerialized.  As for saving his energy, the man himself lay waiting in the bed.  He’d undressed, but the sheets and blankets covered him below the waist.
“I hope you do not think I’m rushing things,” he said, his deep voice nearly a purr.
Serena shook her head, then raised her chin a notch.  “I have no illusions about what will happen here tonight,” she informed him, not really understanding why her comment brought a curious upward turn to his lips.
“I am pleased to hear you say that,” he murmured, “though I want you to understand that this is your choice.  Do not mistake me, dear heart, for I do desire you, and a part of me longs to claim you in a most desperate way, but the choice is and always will be yours.  I do not say this to lay the responsibility for our actions at your feet, but rather to reassure you that my desire to claim you will always be subservient to your desire to have me.”
His statement gave Serena the confidence she needed to approach the bed he had magically created for them.  “Though you say the choice is mine, I am of the opinion that to win this battle we find ourselves in, we will need to be in complete accord with each other.  I once believed you murdered my sister.  I know now that it would be impossible for you to commit such an act.  I believe you cared for her, even if you did not love her the same way she loved you.  Even so, you vowed to avenge her murder, and that is something that I too want most dearly.  Together, I believe we might accomplish both our goals and live to tell others about it.”
“Not just others, Serena, our children.  This may not be the sort of wedding night most young women dream about, even so, I want you to know that I am no less committed to you than if we spoke our vows before God and a magistrate of the Queen.  Those formalities are merely a matter of time and circumstance, but, and I want you to pay close heed to my words since I do not offer them lightly, when I claim you, my sweet, it will not just be me who is with you.  The beast I shift into is as much a part of me as my head and heart.  Though my true form is human, the white leopard you’ve seen, is both a conscious and unconscious manifestation of my thoughts and emotions.
“I do not say this to frighten you, but there is a very good chance I will shift tonight.  My tutor warned me that strong emotions can bring on the shift as easily as my conscious will.  Earlier today, with Regina, is an example of what can happen.”
“Do you tell me this because you fear my reaction or yours?” she asked quietly.
“Both,” he answered honestly.  “I do not want to hurt you, and ….”
”You won’t,” she interrupted.  “You may fear what you might do, but I do not.  You were angry with me earlier, when I stood before the door and blocked you, yet you did nothing more than growl.  You did not even bare your fangs at me.  I know you will not hurt me.”
“In truth, I wanted to wring your neck, and had I hands then instead of paws, I might well have done so.  It was foolish of you to take such a risk, and I trust you will never do so again.”
“You may think the act one of recklessness, sir, but I believe it to have been utterly necessary.  Had you gone off on your own, we would never have had tonight together.”
That statement brought a smug masculine smile to his lips.  “For that reason alone, I forgive you.”  Then reaching out, he drew her into his arms and kissed her.
Serena gave herself to his kiss completely.  His lips were warm and full and he tasted like wheat and honey.  Unsure where to put her hands, she moved them up the sinewy length of his arms and rested them at his neck.
He moaned softly at her touch and rolled onto his back, pulling her down on top of him.  She expected him to remove his shirt from her back with the same magic he’d used to remove her clothing in the library, but for the moment he was content to use the thin fabric to his advantage as his lips sought out her breasts.  He suckled gently, dampening the fabric with his tongue, then opening his mouth he breathed out so that the warmth of his breath caused the fine material to flutter against her.  She could feel her flesh pucker with pleasure in reaction.
His lips curved into a thoroughly satisfied grin.  “I’d say you liked that.”
Before she could respond, he turned so that she lay on her back, and he lay on his side looking down at her.  His hand reached beneath the hem of his shirt and slid with slow purpose up her calf to her thighs.  She recalled the last time he’d touched her so intimately and felt herself grow moist once again.

Hope you enjoyed this Frisky Friday excerpt.  If you're interested in knowing more, please visit the Deadly Enchantment page on my web site

Six Sentence Sunday - Mar. 11 - Mortal Illusions

My current post for 6SS, is from my 1st book, Mortal Illusions. A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a projected series of 3 books.  Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently under production. In this segment, Claire Daniels has finally convinced the two hundred year-old vampire, she hopes will ultimately save her brother's life, into making love to her only to realize that the enemies he's made over the years wouldn't hesitate to use her to get to him.  And he's just admitted that it isn't her death as much as the manner in which it would be executed that terrifies him.  Claire knows just how intense the vampire mating ritual could be.  And to have someone take her that way, against her will, would be equivalent to rape.
* * * * *

...An image of being forcibly stripped and held down while a stranger sank his teeth into her most sensitive and vulnerable spot, made Claire cringe.  Perhaps it wouldn't be just one.  What if a group of them chose to feed from her at once as if she were nothing more than a living banquet?  Such a death would be a terrifying, violent experience of pain and degradation, and even the thought of it had her clutching Germaine's fingers.
I'll protect you, Claire, if you will let me, he assured her silently.
Her uncertainty dissipating beneath the intensity of his promise, Claire nodded.

Frisky Friday - Submissives vs. Slaves

In my BDSM romances, all my heroes are Doms with submissives, not Masters with slaves.  Jim, my hero in my WIP "A Dom's Dilemma," comes closest to being a master with a slave when he insists Kelly assume a slave role prior to a really harsh punishment.  But other than that one time, he's really pretty lenient as far as Doms go, and he gives her a lot more leeway than most Doms would.  That said, I've been reading several books lately that deal with Master/slave relationships.  Only the slaves in these books are victims of human trafficking, which has significantly wounded them both mentally and physically.

The first book I want to talk about is Slave (Finding Anna) by Sherri Hayes.  I found Sherri's book during my Six Sentence Sunday trolling and bought it almost immediately after reading her six sentences.  Sherri is planning an entire series, which is good since the first book left me in serious limbo.  It didn't have "The End" or even "End of Part I" the way Fifty Shades did, so I  immediately went searching for more information (and to see if another book might be available) and found the blog site she has created for her Finding Anna series. She also has a Facebook page where she provides regular progress updates.  Below are Sherri's Six Sentences and a blurb for Slave from Goodreads:

"Get dressed and come to the living room, please."

And then he was gone. I was more confused than ever. He wanted me to get dressed  and come to the living room?

Then I got it. He was getting rid of me!

Stephan has lived the lifestyle of a Dominant for five years. After several rebellious teenage years, it gave him the stability and control he had been seeking after his parent’s death.
As president of a not-for-profit foundation, he knows what his future holds and what he wants out of life. All that changes when a simple lunch with his college friend and Mentor, Darren, leads him to buying a slave.

Thrust into a situation he never thought he’d be in, Stephan can’t walk away. He is compelled to help this girl in the only way he knows how.
Brianna knows only one thing, she is a slave. She has nothing. She is nothing.
Can Stephan help Brianna realize that she is much more than just a Slave?

Sherri has come out, along with a lot of other authors, against the Today segment on "Fifty Shades of Grey."  It is Dr. Drew Pinske in particular that has drawn everyone's ire.  He said, "Erotic Novels: are they fantasy or just plain violent?"  He said this in addition to his statement admitting he hadn't even read the books.  Since I didn't see this segment on the Today show, I am reticent to give my point of view, but I will say from what I have read on this topic that there is great cause for concern, especially considering the recent brouhaha over Paypal's newest restrictions.  If you aren't aware of either of these issues and want to know more, please visit Dr. Logan Levkoff's post on the Huffington Post and Andrew Shaffer's article also on the Huffington Post regarding Paypal.

Human trafficking is a real and present danger, even though many people aren't aware it still exists.  It is also a serious topic and one that Sherri deals with in a very realistic, yet sensitive, way.  Another author who has taken on this challenge is Cherise Sinclair in her "Masters of the Shadowlands" series.  The latest "To Command and Collar" goes much more deeply into the the damage incurred when a woman is abducted and forced into slavery against her will.  It is a lot grittier than her other books, and Raoul (whose enjoyment with whipping surprised me after his brief aftercare scene with Gabrielle in Make Me, Sir) is much more a Master than a Dom in my opinion, so the ending of this book left me a little unsettled.

The following is the blurb on Amazon for "To Command and Collar"

Determined to find the human traffickers preying on Shadowlands’ submissives, Master Raoul gets himself invited to a small slave auction. Once informed, the FBI orders him to reject the limited choices so the slavers will invite him to the big auction. To Raoul’s shock, one of the slaves is the kidnapped friend of a Shadowlands sub. She has a scarred body...and an unbroken spirit. He can’t leave her behind. Ruining the FBI’s carefully laid plans, he buys her.
Kimberly’s freedom has come at a devastating price: the other women are still slaves. An FBI raid is their only hope for rescue. Desperate to help the Feds locate the big auction, she agrees to pose as Master Raoul’s slave. Wearing a collar again is terrifying, but under the powerful dominant’s care, Kim starts to heal and then to blossom. This is what she’s been drawn to—and fled from—her entire life.
She escaped the slavers who captured her body—can she escape the master who’s captured her heart?

Although Kimberly's spirit wasn't broken anywhere to the extent that Brianna's was in Slave, she was far from being the young, carefree spirited young woman she had been before she was captured.

However, the difference between women who were captured and forced into slavery against their will and those who willingly submit to a master out of devotion is comparable to the difference between "hate and disgust" and "desire and need."  So, when you consider willing submission only, I've always viewed the dissimilarities between slaves and submissives to be a matter of degree in regards to the power exchange between them.  Masters and slaves have Total Power Exchanges, while Doms and submissives seem more like part-timers to me.  Dominants and submissives have safewords, where participants of TPE usually do not.  They have limits, where once again participants in TPE don't.  Part of my confusion stems from the fact that Masters and Slaves are also referred to as Dominants and Submissives, while to me they are not the same at all.  So, is it merely a matter of degree, or do the differences between slaves and submissives reach a far deeper level?  I'd be interested in any thoughts or opinions you might have.

In the meantime, if books about BDSM slaves in captivity interest you, check out the list on Goodreads BDSM Slave/Captive Stories.  Have a safe, sane and consenual Friday

A vampire romance published by New Concepts Publishing, Mortal Illusions is currently the first in a series of 3 books.  Its sequel, Fatal Desire, is currently under production.

Claire knew from her intimacy with Germaine just how intense the vampire mating ritual could be.  To have someone take her that way, against her will, would be equivalent to rape.  An image of being forcibly stripped and held down while a stranger sank his teeth into her most sensitive and vulnerable spot, made Claire cringe.

Six Sentence Sunday - wk 7 - Arrested by Love

This material is Not Safe For Work. If you’re not over 18, please explore elsewhere.

Welcome to my 6SS where I hope to provide you with tiny little tidbits of the most sexy and sensuous moments in my books. Just 6 sentences, that I intend to build from my Horny Hump Day 3 sentence feature. The books might be already published, works-in-progress, or even sentences from other sexy books I think you’ll like.  Of course, I will properly attribute all works, even mine.

My post for this Sunday is from my 3rd book, Arrested by Love. An erotic spanking novel published by Blushing Books.

In this scene, Kelly Franklin, Jim Evans and Kyle Sinclair are at the Velvet Chains BDSM club.  Kelly is there expecting to be punished by Kyle for threatening to make their relationship public if he doesn't agree to take her back as his full time submissive. Kyle knows he's made several mistakes with Kelly, but he has no desire to master her again.  He is in love with Tiffany.  So, Kyle is relieved and grateful when Jim Evans offers to put Kelly through her paces that evening to see if they would mesh.  Prior to her arrival at the club, Kyle gives Kelly over to Jim with his blessing.

Kelly has seen the way Jim masters his subs, and his methods "scare the shit out of her," so she's always given him a wide berth.  Tonight she isn't being given the choice.  By this point, Jim has Kelly stretched nearly to the point of pain in a chaining station.  With chains and leather wrist cuffs holding her arms immobile and her ankles locked in a stretcher bar, Jim intimately strokes Kelly while he questions her, giving her clit a firm punch whenever her responses displease him.  Standing a little apart from them, Kyle watches and observes how Jim skilfully brings Kelly to the point of a climax with his fingers only to tell her she does not have his permission to come....

"What?" Kelly asked, slightly breathless.  Then her hips surged up and she did a little dance that was greatly hampered by the stretcher bar as she cried, "Oww!"
"That's for making me repeat myself, sub," Jim growled.  "I said you are not to come without permission."  She moaned as his fingers continued to work her.
"If you come before I've said you may, you will be punished for it."

Frisky Friday - How are you celebrating it?

For this "Frisky Friday" I decided to open up my blog for reader comments.  How are you and your partner planning to have fun this weekend?  This is an adult blog, so you can get as "frisky or naughty" as you like.

For me, I just finished a next to final (is there ever such a thing as final, she asks?) draft of my next Naughty Romance and I plan to celebrate by having a candlelight dinner complete with flowers and wine and my hubby.  Then I hope we'll get really Frisky.

So, tell us.  How are you planning to celebrate your Friday this week?

Don't be shy, and get as creative as you like.  You may even give the rest of us ideas we've never considered before, but are intrigued by the possibilities.

As an added incentive, if I feel a comment deserves a reward, I may even award an appropriate prize, so make sure to leave your e-mail address or a way I can contact you if you're interested.
